Balak, King of Moab, continues to make sacrifices hoping the prophet, Balaam, will speak a curse against the Israelites. Instead, the spirit of God comes on him and he prophecies that a scepter shall rise out of Israel and strike down Moab. A bawdy interlude gets Zimri and Cozbi skewered.
