SteelStash:

Hello, solo gamers and welcome to lonely.

SteelStash:

TT RPG, the solo actual play and review podcast.

SteelStash:

I'm your host steel stash.

SteelStash:

And this week

SteelStash:

we were playing lone eons written by David Blandy and Lori O'Connell

SteelStash:

with some beautiful cover artwork done by Daniel lock and some amazing

SteelStash:

illustrations inside by Jacob Barry with the layout by David Blandy.

SteelStash:

So lone eons is a journaling role playing game played by taking on

SteelStash:

the role of a post-human character.

SteelStash:

In the deep future.

SteelStash:

This books is a remix of the lost eons player's guide repurposed for solo play.

SteelStash:

So there are some repetitions to keep the solo game self-contained.

SteelStash:

So if you are familiar with lost eons, this is specifically designed

SteelStash:

to help you with solo game.

SteelStash:

I am not familiar with Lost Eons.

SteelStash:

So I am coming in blind.

SteelStash:

Let's see how this goes.

SteelStash:

So we have cards and prompts, help set the scene outline the flora, fauna and the

SteelStash:

world around you always interpret prompts in a way that makes sense for your story.

SteelStash:

Take a different card.

SteelStash:

If it really doesn't fit,

SteelStash:

Continues.

SteelStash:

There will be moments of difficulty and tension, where

SteelStash:

there is something at stake.

SteelStash:

At that point, we're going to roll some dice.

SteelStash:

All right.

SteelStash:

So we've got some cards and some cliquey Clarkies outstanding.

SteelStash:

So four lines in veils exploring your imagination can bring up thoughts

SteelStash:

that you, that can cause anxiety.

SteelStash:

So prepare yourself for what you might expect from the game.

SteelStash:

Think about the general setting of the game and set boundaries about subject

SteelStash:

matter, noting lines, a strict limit, something that should not be touched upon

SteelStash:

anytime and veil something permitted to be mentioned, but not described in detail.

SteelStash:

All right.

SteelStash:

So content warnings on this, it is based on the distant aftermath of our current

SteelStash:

climate cataclysm and mass extinction.

SteelStash:

So.

SteelStash:

Yeah, th that could that could pose some issues, especially if

SteelStash:

you were highly attuned to what's going on with our world today.

SteelStash:

Then we got some example gameplay

SteelStash:

with the intro, . Your people have lived in your Haven for a thousand years.

SteelStash:

It protected you.

SteelStash:

The experience changed you.

SteelStash:

Now, the Haven doors must open.

SteelStash:

What will you find up there on the surface?

SteelStash:

How has the damage world healed?

SteelStash:

Do you have what it takes?

SteelStash:

To survive.

SteelStash:

So lone eons is the solo iteration of loss.

SteelStash:

eons a journaling game for one player using dice and playing cards to create

SteelStash:

problems and situations for you to explore it is designed to help see

SteelStash:

our climate reality and high fantasy, a fresh experiencing, and describing

SteelStash:

a new world for the first time.

SteelStash:

So you decide what happened.

SteelStash:

Fiction first rulings, not rules and it is built to be open unsettling,

SteelStash:

but at the end of the day fun.

SteelStash:

In lost eons, the outcome of anything you were trying to do can be decided

SteelStash:

on without any role when it makes sense for something to just happen.

SteelStash:

Where an outcome is uncertain or a task is more difficult than usual.

SteelStash:

You can perform a skill check where you roll dice to determine success or failure.

SteelStash:

So for equipment, we need a journal and pencil, a deck of standard cards

SteelStash:

some d6s 3d eight and a D four.

SteelStash:

We only have use them flip a coin.

SteelStash:

The game says, it's not your dad to paraphrase the Simpsons, do what you want.

SteelStash:

It's a book.

SteelStash:

It's not the cops

SteelStash:

all right.

SteelStash:

So rolling through the rest of the manual, which is a 48 page manual.

SteelStash:

We have . A lot of stuff.

SteelStash:

This might be a little much to try and do on just a single blind react,

SteelStash:

but Hey, that's the name of this game?

SteelStash:

We blind react.

SteelStash:

All right.

SteelStash:

Oh, we got some beautiful maps and some player sheets.

SteelStash:

Okay, cool.

SteelStash:

Cool.

SteelStash:

So let's get into the Quickstart solo rules.

SteelStash:

You can play with a full character sheet and defined roles

SteelStash:

using the rest of this book.

SteelStash:

Alternatively, use the sample or the simple rules.

SteelStash:

If you're uncertain about what might happen make a test against the world.

SteelStash:

Roll a d6 for your soul and a D four D six or D eight for your skill,

SteelStash:

depending on how confident you feel about your character at this moment,

SteelStash:

roll two D eight for the world.

SteelStash:

If your highest single number meets or beats the higher number

SteelStash:

on the world dice you succeed.

SteelStash:

If it meets or beats the lower number on the world dice, you

SteelStash:

succeed with the complication.

SteelStash:

Perhaps you're wounded, perhaps your lost or something breaks.

SteelStash:

If you fail to meet either die, you both fail and suffer a complication.

SteelStash:

If you roll double on the world, die, roll for a rumor

SteelStash:

all right.

SteelStash:

So this game is played through scenes.

SteelStash:

The first scene begins with your first experience on the surface world and comes

SteelStash:

through the Oracle a standard pack of cards, separated into suits and shuffled,

SteelStash:

so that you have four randomized piles.

SteelStash:

As you progress through the wilderness between the features and settlements

SteelStash:

time passes and things happen.

SteelStash:

Record your reactions in your journal.

SteelStash:

You can be as dull or as elaborate as you want.

SteelStash:

Those are my words, not the games, words.

SteelStash:

Of course.

SteelStash:

None of you listening to me are dull you are amazing,

SteelStash:

which is why you listen to us.

SteelStash:

And if you want to be, continue to be amazing, then if you're

SteelStash:

not subscribed, please subscribe.

SteelStash:

That would be super awesome.

SteelStash:

Also ratings reviews, those things help out so much.

SteelStash:

They really do.

SteelStash:

I'm currently sitting at one review on iTunes from Devin who says that we have

SteelStash:

introduced them to some great games.

SteelStash:

So if you feel like I've introduced you to some great games, please let me know,

SteelStash:

let me know which games I introduced you to and what you like about them.

SteelStash:

You will find all my socials in the show notes.

SteelStash:

In addition, if you like what we're doing and you want to help

SteelStash:

us get just a little bit better.

SteelStash:

We do have a patreon we do have a patreon www.patrion.com/blackdragondungeoncompany.

SteelStash:

We are working on attempting to afford a editor.

SteelStash:

That way, I am not doing all of this by myself.

SteelStash:

Getting an editor will just add a little bit level of polish to this.

SteelStash:

In addition, we do have some more fun podcasting ideas that we want to get

SteelStash:

out, but we don't have the time to really be pushing all of that stuff at once.

SteelStash:

So a couple of bucks from y'all as little as a dollar a month, and you can help

SteelStash:

us towards the dream of releasing more content for you to consume and enjoy.

SteelStash:

Hopefully relate with, but with all that being said, I think it's

SteelStash:

time to about dive on in don't you.

SteelStash:

So we are going to need a map.

SteelStash:

So I'm going to go ahead and go to some of the amazing maps back here.

SteelStash:

And I'm going to go ahead and snag one of those.

SteelStash:

So we're going to drop our lovely map right in here.

SteelStash:

And in addition to all of that, I'm going to take one of the

SteelStash:

pre-generated player sheets.

SteelStash:

It looks like we have several different things that we can do.

SteelStash:

We have a psych which always found yourself, able to read people's feelings

SteelStash:

and intentions an instinctive way a shifter, you remember the first time it

SteelStash:

happened and you knew it was something you had to hide a salvager, which

SteelStash:

most days you can just find enough to exchange for your food that night.

SteelStash:

But sometimes there's something triggering in that.

SteelStash:

Seer since youth, you found yourself attuned to the matrix of essence,

SteelStash:

able to create a flame at the tips of your fingers or still the

SteelStash:

wind for a moment, a scrapper.

SteelStash:

The only way to get by has been fending for yourself and looking after those dear

SteelStash:

to you, the outcast who never felt at home in your society, fighting a life on its

SteelStash:

margins, forging a life on its margin.

SteelStash:

So that's 6 classes.

SteelStash:

All right.

SteelStash:

As per usual, we are going to go ahead and roll for our class.

SteelStash:

So that's a four, so that's the seer.

SteelStash:

Outstanding.

SteelStash:

We got the magic one.

SteelStash:

So I'm going to go ahead and drop my player sheet on my map as well.

SteelStash:

So we have our map.

SteelStash:

We have our player's sheet and we are about ready to go.

SteelStash:

I would say.

SteelStash:

All right.

SteelStash:

So like we said this game is played through scenes.

SteelStash:

The first scene begins with your experience on the surface world

SteelStash:

and it continues through the oracle

SteelStash:

so,

SteelStash:

ah, so first of all, we have to divide our deck up into the

SteelStash:

various suits unfortunately, I don't think that's something I'm

SteelStash:

going to be able to do on stream.

SteelStash:

Not at least in any, a decent amount of time.

SteelStash:

So dear viewers, those of you who are following on YouTube, I apologize.

SteelStash:

You're not going to see the cards.

SteelStash:

But for those of you listening to the podcast, you'll be able to hear, because

SteelStash:

as normal, I will announce what I get,

SteelStash:

what up this brand new pack of cards.

SteelStash:

We got, because my son, God bless him, loves to come and ask me for

SteelStash:

cards and dice when I'm doing my normal gaming with my TTRP G groups.

SteelStash:

So I have a deck that is missing several cards so we had to go

SteelStash:

buy some special ones just for me and also, you know, for him.

SteelStash:

So that.

SteelStash:

I could continue to give him cards and he would not

SteelStash:

be constantly stealing mine.

SteelStash:

All right.

SteelStash:

So give these all a quick shuffle

SteelStash:

This is not the best shuffle in the world.

SteelStash:

I'm not going to lie.

SteelStash:

It's a brand new deck and we are trying to do this all in one shot.

SteelStash:

All right.

SteelStash:

So the goal is, as we travel, we seek insights and feared doom the

SteelStash:

insights of the four ACEs when they come into or come up to play.

SteelStash:

After the action roll against the world.

SteelStash:

If you succeed, keep the card and roll for a rumor.

SteelStash:

Doom is the four Kings.

SteelStash:

When they come up into play, keep after action, roll against the world.

SteelStash:

If you fail, keep the card and take harm.

SteelStash:

Once you have the four insights or doom, the game ends insight ends well, and you

SteelStash:

have, and you live on to share knowledge doom and the journey ends badly in

SteelStash:

lonely misery taken by the cry org or.

SteelStash:

All right.

SteelStash:

So.

SteelStash:

I so, first of all, with character creation, we need to come up with

SteelStash:

a name as per usual my name on this is going to be steel stash

SteelStash:

and a society.

SteelStash:

So we come to the back of the book.

SteelStash:

We're going to go ahead and choose one of the pre-generated

SteelStash:

societies somewhere in here.

SteelStash:

All right.

SteelStash:

So for societies for 8,000 years, during the course of the climate

SteelStash:

cataclysm, hundreds of thousands of vast havens were built deep underground

SteelStash:

to save the fraction of humanity.

SteelStash:

All have been affected by the arcane essence, bubbling up from the earth,

SteelStash:

mantle, mutating, the people and unique in various ways to generate a Haven society.

SteelStash:

To generate The society.

SteelStash:

Our character comes from role on the tables

SteelStash:

all right.

SteelStash:

So it has several societies that are several different aspects of

SteelStash:

society from structured detailed leader, tech level and upside.

SteelStash:

These are all D six, so that's 1, 2, 3, 4, 5.

SteelStash:

We're going to go ahead and roll five D six.

SteelStash:

And as we roll five D six, we will let that guide everything.

SteelStash:

So 6, 6, 6, 3, 2.

SteelStash:

That was a really great role that we blew in the beginning.

SteelStash:

All right.

SteelStash:

So we have a community that was once nomadic rotating through several havens,

SteelStash:

connected by underground tunnels, all but one of their havens now have

SteelStash:

been taken over by outsiders detail, teenagers come of age in this Haven by

SteelStash:

creating a piece of art in the deep cave.

SteelStash:

Leader was actually supposed to be d8 we're just going to stick with

SteelStash:

six hereditary ruler, but the current leader much loved, has no children.

SteelStash:

Tech level was a three.

SteelStash:

So a chance discovery of an unsealed empty vault, gifted to this

SteelStash:

community with advanced technology, some devices are so advanced.

SteelStash:

No one knows what they do.

SteelStash:

And two for the upside mystery.

SteelStash:

The last time people left the Haven was a hundred years ago, but they

SteelStash:

never returned what happened to them.

SteelStash:

So we're going to go stereotype and we're going to go ahead and call we're going

SteelStash:

to go ahead and call our society, the Vicks, the Vikins so for those of you who.

SteelStash:

Haven't picked up on it yet.

SteelStash:

Yes, we are going with a Viking rip off.

SteelStash:

So we were going with a little bit of a Viking inspired society.

SteelStash:

and with our Viking society we were fairly nomadic wandering from

SteelStash:

cave to cave, to cave, to cave through a vast network of tunnels.

SteelStash:

Right up until relatively recently in our, in our history the great grandfather

SteelStash:

of the current leader found us a nice Haven that we could set up in and we

SteelStash:

have established ourselves in that Haven.

SteelStash:

Now of course, a group of people did did rebel the that

SteelStash:

particular chief had two sons.

SteelStash:

One of the sons took a party out, but they never came back

SteelStash:

and it is questionable as to why.

SteelStash:

However, the rumor is that several of the other caves that we used to

SteelStash:

have no longer exist or have been taken over by some outside force

SteelStash:

Unfortunately, the current king has no son or daughter, but, but the

SteelStash:

chief has decided that all who come of age all who were coming of age

SteelStash:

this year which will include me.

SteelStash:

Don't let the baldhead fool you.

SteelStash:

I'm very young in this game.

SteelStash:

I'll come of age this year.

SteelStash:

We'll embark on.

SteelStash:

Epic trials, hearkening back to our ancestors.

SteelStash:

And our days of nomadic wandering, and we will all go out and attempt to find

SteelStash:

hidden truths within the world truth that might help reveal some of the items that

SteelStash:

are found in the cave, the cave that only the chief possesses, the key for for it

SteelStash:

has been locked up under their command.

SteelStash:

And they possess these sole key.

SteelStash:

Now I'm hoping to be.

SteelStash:

I'm hoping to be the one chosen to be the successor.

SteelStash:

And I'm hoping to learn some of these ancient mysteries that

SteelStash:

the chief has hidden away for.

SteelStash:

It might make life so much better, but we don't know what those are.

SteelStash:

All right.

SteelStash:

So we need to finish,

SteelStash:

We need to finish with our.

SteelStash:

Character Creation

SteelStash:

yeah.

SteelStash:

So next up, we're going to have we've already picked our class.

SteelStash:

We already have our name.

SteelStash:

We've chosen our society and our.

SteelStash:

archetype So we need a personality,

SteelStash:

Society name, equipment choose if we will mutate and gain traits

SteelStash:

and, or become a spellcaster and discover why we must leave.

SteelStash:

So we already discovered why we must leave.

SteelStash:

We're going to go with that story.

SteelStash:

So personality is going to be a D 10.

SteelStash:

So we're going to roll one D 10.

SteelStash:

And with that we get a seven, seven is analyze the empathetic.

SteelStash:

And some experience, which is another D 10,

SteelStash:

three endure.

SteelStash:

You have been your own keeper.

SteelStash:

All right.

SteelStash:

Right off the bat.

SteelStash:

This is definitely looking like a longer-term game.

SteelStash:

This isn't necessarily a one and done game, like several of the

SteelStash:

others I have done in the past with the exception of dead belt.

SteelStash:

This is this is definitely set up for a more long-term narrative

SteelStash:

with that being the case.

SteelStash:

We're going to go ahead and really just get kicking on this.

SteelStash:

I don't have everything figured out.

SteelStash:

We'll talk about that here in a minute.

SteelStash:

I do want to I do want to get a little bit of gameplay in just to see what it's like.

SteelStash:

So as we travel, we're going to roll a D six and that's going to determine

SteelStash:

what type of Oracle card we take.

SteelStash:

Here we go.

SteelStash:

So we're going to start out right here.

SteelStash:

We're going to say our little our little spot was right there.

SteelStash:

That was our Haven.

SteelStash:

And we come up to the surface world surprised by the

SteelStash:

level of green that we see.

SteelStash:

It is, it is not a pleasant heat out right now.

SteelStash:

The earth and vegetation looks very different from what we've been able

SteelStash:

to grow and control back in the caves.

SteelStash:

This is definitely wild.

SteelStash:

This is definitely something that has been.

SteelStash:

Untouched for a long time

SteelStash:

and we rolled a five.

SteelStash:

So we're going to take a diamond

SteelStash:

for our Oracle cards.

SteelStash:

So that's going to be the four of diamonds.

SteelStash:

Which is going to be a thing four of Diamond's a picture in a locket

SteelStash:

and weapon from the items table.

SteelStash:

So going down to the items.

SteelStash:

Oh, I think it can be either.

SteelStash:

Or we're going to go ahead and say that we found a weapon and we're

SteelStash:

going to roll a D 20 to determine what type of weapon we got.

SteelStash:

12, a guts strong Longbow.

SteelStash:

Heck yeah.

SteelStash:

Go ahead and add that to our equipment, got ourselves a Longbow, but now

SteelStash:

that that's done, we're able to continue on to our next location.

SteelStash:

And once again, at this new little island, Walking through, we will say a

SteelStash:

Landbridge that appears with the tides.

SteelStash:

We came out at the right time to see that this land bridge existed.

SteelStash:

We find our way to this little island and we roll a one

SteelStash:

which is going to get us.

SteelStash:

A club, a heart to diamonds and we meet a being

SteelStash:

all right.

SteelStash:

So

SteelStash:

for two diamonds,

SteelStash:

we have the 10 of diamonds.

SteelStash:

And the three of diamonds, we got the five of clubs and the Jack of

SteelStash:

hearts, and we met a being so we make our first encounter upon the road.

SteelStash:

So let us let's go ahead and deal with that encounter for.

SteelStash:

The being card, which is a club defines the type of being you encountered and the

SteelStash:

being twists the heart and diamond cards.

SteelStash:

Okay.

SteelStash:

Define their appearance and their strengths ok, each entry has a suggestion

SteelStash:

of an appearance and a dice type combined the two dice types to create the world

SteelStash:

dice for the being or a group of beings.

SteelStash:

So when you meet a being role, 2d six, for their reaction to, to who

SteelStash:

you, the being description sets the tone, but a low number is negative.

SteelStash:

A high number is positive.

SteelStash:

So if a family welcomed you and you really to the welcome may hide ulterior

SteelStash:

motives, if bandits want what's yours and you roll a 12, perhaps you find out

SteelStash:

that they're only seeking help for their family as they need food to survive.

SteelStash:

And then there are combat and wound rules that we will get into

SteelStash:

depending on how bad this being is.

SteelStash:

All right.

SteelStash:

So we got the five of clubs, which is our being,

SteelStash:

So five of clubs is a group sits around a campfire,

SteelStash:

So we have a group around the campfire, but we're actually

SteelStash:

supposed to look on the twist table for the hearts and the diamonds.

SteelStash:

So the twist table is lumbering and a hungry Chitnis talons and.

SteelStash:

Slimy scales and promiscuous.

SteelStash:

So a d8 and a D four.

SteelStash:

All right.

SteelStash:

So d8 and D four is the being is he being dice pool of this lumbering group around

SteelStash:

a campfire with scales and talons.

SteelStash:

Wow.

SteelStash:

That's just a terrifying creature.

SteelStash:

I hold my breath.

SteelStash:

Gaze upon it entranced by what I'm seeing.

SteelStash:

Not quite sure what to make of it.

SteelStash:

So when you meet a being roll 2d six for their reaction to you.

SteelStash:

And that is a seven.

SteelStash:

That is a seven.

SteelStash:

So this thing is going to be a.

SteelStash:

It's being it's going to be rather ambivalent to my presence, I would say,

SteelStash:

Yeah, lumbering and hungry.

SteelStash:

All right.

SteelStash:

So we have a lumbering hungry being around a campfire.

SteelStash:

So I rolled a seven.

SteelStash:

That's not, it's not great.

SteelStash:

It's not bad.

SteelStash:

It's not great.

SteelStash:

It's about middle of the road.

SteelStash:

I don't think that the creature is as like, I don't think

SteelStash:

the creature wants to eat me.

SteelStash:

It just wants to eat.

SteelStash:

So what options do I have?

SteelStash:

All right.

SteelStash:

So we have combat, it looks like I got a D four who persuade, All right.

SteelStash:

So yeah, we're going to stand up.

SteelStash:

We're going to make ourselves look big.

SteelStash:

Like I said, I don't think this thing wants to, I don't think.

SteelStash:

this wants to eat me it just wants to eat.

SteelStash:

So we're going to try to convince it that I am not the one.

SteelStash:

So I'm going to roll a D six and a D four.

SteelStash:

If I'm not mistaken.

SteelStash:

Yeah, I'm going to roll a D six into D four and they are going to

SteelStash:

roll a, they're going to roll a D eight and a D for not looking good

SteelStash:

for the home team on this one.

SteelStash:

I should've thought that one through and I got a five, I got

SteelStash:

a five total, so that's not good.

SteelStash:

That's not good.

SteelStash:

All right.

SteelStash:

So let's hope this D eight and D four are just as bad.

SteelStash:

They also got a five heck.

SteelStash:

Yeah.

SteelStash:

If it meets it beats baby, if it meets it, beats.

SteelStash:

Actually hang on.

SteelStash:

All right.

SteelStash:

So the higher dice is, ah, it's not total.

SteelStash:

It's.

SteelStash:

I'm a, when we tied, we tied all the way around.

SteelStash:

We tied all the way around.

SteelStash:

I'm going to say if it meets a beats and because the because

SteelStash:

this creature always ambivalent, that's just going to glare at me.

SteelStash:

And this is going to make its way on its way.

SteelStash:

No point in either of us really getting into a fight today.

SteelStash:

But this place I'm going to go ahead and make my way as quickly

SteelStash:

as possible and go to my next spot for my one D six challenge.

SteelStash:

That is a five and on a five, I'm going to take a diamond,

SteelStash:

another diamond, six of diamonds.

SteelStash:

So that is another thing that I found.

SteelStash:

So the six of diamonds is an ancient plastic toy slash

SteelStash:

miscellany from the items table, coming down to the items table.

SteelStash:

That's a D 20.

SteelStash:

18 now I got a big roll, a hailing horn.

SteelStash:

So we're going to go ahead and add that to my equipment list and there we go.

SteelStash:

So that's where we're going to call it for today.

SteelStash:

This has been lone eons.

SteelStash:

So thoughts about this game, first of all, the artwork is very

SteelStash:

beautiful and the layout, the individual page layout is very nice.

SteelStash:

I am going to give them that

SteelStash:

This is definitely a game that is going to take some getting used to

SteelStash:

this is not something that you just jump in and play at the drop of a hat.

SteelStash:

As you saw character creation is an involved process.

SteelStash:

I noticed that I already jacked up several things in my character creation.

SteelStash:

I never figured out my magic.

SteelStash:

Apparently I was supposed to draw one item from each of the item lists.

SteelStash:

I just kinda went out with my with the shirt on my back.

SteelStash:

All right.

SteelStash:

So several things that.

SteelStash:

Several things that, you know, taking some time and sitting down and being

SteelStash:

very dedicated on this will help out with now the bright side is this does

SteelStash:

like, again, this does feel like a story that can be very well told or

SteelStash:

well-suited for multiple sessions.

SteelStash:

This is not a one and done game.

SteelStash:

This is a sit play for a little bit.

SteelStash:

Think about this come back go back out, come back, go back out.

SteelStash:

So very similar to a very similar to dead belt in that,

SteelStash:

but actually more similar to

SteelStash:

your traditional RPG or your traditional TTRP RPGs.

SteelStash:

Which makes sense, because this is a solo version of lost eons, a T T RPG setting.

SteelStash:

Yes, . It is an intimidating rule book.

SteelStash:

The order of things is not, did not work for me.

SteelStash:

I will say that it did not work for me.

SteelStash:

It didn't flow.

SteelStash:

You can't just go from page to page and pick up what you need to pick up.

SteelStash:

The bright side is when you're actually sitting down and reading it, then.

SteelStash:

Almost all of the references.

SteelStash:

I think all of the references have the page number associated with it.

SteelStash:

So when you actually sit down and read the book, it will say, Hey, find

SteelStash:

this stuff on this page number, but

SteelStash:

you are going to be bouncing back and forth.

SteelStash:

So it is what it is at the end of the day.

SteelStash:

At the end of the day, it's still, it still seems like a very fun game.

SteelStash:

This definitely seems like something I may want to come back to.

SteelStash:

Some of the setup is not as convenient having to divide your

SteelStash:

deck into the individual suits.

SteelStash:

For example, if you have a look, if you have enough decks, like I got it decks

SteelStash:

of cards are cheap, but it's annoying to have to go out and buy a deck.

SteelStash:

So if you have enough decks so that you can have one dedicated for this, where

SteelStash:

you just keep everything separated by suit, that is probably the way to go.

SteelStash:

If this is something that you want to play on a regular basis, otherwise, you

SteelStash:

know, you're going to be spending the start of every game taking your first

SteelStash:

five minutes and going through your deck of cards, just separating out the suits.

SteelStash:

Frustrating, not a deal breaker.

SteelStash:

The dice mechanics are nice.

SteelStash:

I do like, so it is not intuitive to roll two dice and not do the

SteelStash:

total role at the very least when you're used to doing on-line tables.

SteelStash:

If you're using physical dice in your house, on your table, then

SteelStash:

yes, it should be fairly easy.

SteelStash:

Like, oh, the two big guys go over here and I compare mine to theirs

SteelStash:

and the two little dices over here and I compare that to that.

SteelStash:

And I do like that mechanic don't get me wrong.

SteelStash:

I think that's a very I think that's a very interesting mechanic and I do enjoy

SteelStash:

that where you have your dice that determines your success or failure, but

SteelStash:

you also have your dice that determines if there were any complications within that.

SteelStash:

. That is definitely a fun mechanic.

SteelStash:

It's very similar to what Caltrop Core did only where caltrop core was

SteelStash:

using the simplicity of a single D four to replicate absolute success

SteelStash:

success with complication failure, with complication, absolute failure.

SteelStash:

This is using two different dice and the two different dice look.

SteelStash:

I'm a tabletop role player.

SteelStash:

All right.

SteelStash:

Shiny math, rocks go clickety clack, make brain go burn.

SteelStash:

So I do like that.

SteelStash:

I am a big fan of using two dice for success and complication.

SteelStash:

Like I said, all in all, this is a, this is a fun game.

SteelStash:

The setting is very well established and set up.

SteelStash:

It is definitely, it is definitely nice.

SteelStash:

It does just require some actual sit down and think.

SteelStash:

Before you jump on into it.

SteelStash:

If you're listening to this, right a publication.

SteelStash:

So in mid may this is a part of the TT RPG for reproductive

SteelStash:

rights, which is glorious.

SteelStash:

$5 gets you a whole bunch of a whole bunch of games, 270 games for just $5

SteelStash:

on itch and all the proceeds for that.

SteelStash:

Go to support reproductive rights and fighting for reproductive rights

SteelStash:

so something that we believe in very strongly here we definitely got the

SteelStash:

bundle and this game is included in it.

SteelStash:

However, on a normal day, the game is $10 on itch.

SteelStash:

You can find it at David Blandy dot itch that IO slash lone eons link

SteelStash:

will be down in the show notes.

SteelStash:

So by all means, go give that a check-out and see what that is.

SteelStash:

Definitely.

SteelStash:

Definitely.

SteelStash:

If you see this in a bundle and there's other stuff that you

SteelStash:

want, this is an excuse to get it.

SteelStash:

If you don't see this in a bundle of it's not on sale it is still,

SteelStash:

I would say it's still worth it.

SteelStash:

This is definitely, this is definitely one of those where there's

SteelStash:

enough thought in there there's a enough there's enough content.

SteelStash:

This is definitely beefy enough that.

SteelStash:

Yes, $10 may seem a lot for a solo game.

SteelStash:

At least so far we've been sticking pretty much to the $5 range on this

SteelStash:

podcast of thus far, but this is definitely worth every bit of the

SteelStash:

price that they're asking for it.

SteelStash:

And then again, if you see it in a bundle or on sale, that is

SteelStash:

absolutely an excuse to go get it.

SteelStash:

This looks like a great game.

SteelStash:

I'm actually looking forward to doing like a real campaign on.

SteelStash:

Who knows maybe if some of you all become my patrons, you might be able to talk me

SteelStash:

into running a campaign on this for y'all.

SteelStash:

But as is, that is going to be it for this game's appearance on the lonely TT RPG.

SteelStash:

I have been steel stash and thank you for listening.
