Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they do. Jesus. Luke 23:34
Hey, I’m Nathan, and this is a BONUS Day of 30 Days Watching Jesus. The surged and ebbed around him. A mix of sobs and disgusting jokes assaulted his throbbing ears. Haters belittled him. Skeptics mocked his claims. Powerful leaders, snubbed ridiculed him. Soldiers did their dirty work. His body failing under the searing torcher. His heart, collapsing in the vice-grip of accumulated human guilt. And yet, with sharp clarity, a single reality continued to define him: the Forgiver. He would love them. Every single one of us. To the very, bitter, crushing end. Never once wishing ill or revenge—but uttering liberal, free, forgiveness. That’s the Jesus we follow. That’s the Jesus we discover in Scripture. That’s the Jesus who’s righting things. That’s the Jesus who’s won—and winning.
