Knowledge of a Winner – Daily Wisdom

Welcome to Wisdom-Trek with Gramps. We are on Day 1867 of our trek, and it’s time to explore another nugget of wisdom, which includes an inspirational quote along with some wise words from Gramps for today’s trek. Wisdom is the final frontier in gaining true knowledge. So we are on a daily trek to create a legacy of wisdom, seek out discernment and insights, and boldly grow where few have chosen to grow before. Hello, my friend; this is Gramps. Thanks for coming along on today’s trek as we increase wisdom and create a living legacy. Proverbs 16:16 says, "How much better to get wisdom than gold, and sound judgment than silver!" If you apply the words you hear today, over time, it will help you become more healthy, wealthy, and wise as you continue your daily trek of life. So let’s jump right in with today’s nugget. Today’s quote is from John Maxwell, and it is, “A winner is big enough to admit his mistakes, smart enough to profit from them, and strong enough to correct them.”

Knowledge of a Winner

We all desire to be winners in every area of our lives. However, I don’t believe anyone desires to be a loser. Yet, there are those individuals who consistently win and those who consistently lose. Which group are you in? To be a winner does not mean that you will never fail and make mistakes. It means that when you fail and make mistakes, you are willing to accept and admit them. Once you fail or make mistakes, you do not remain in that state of mind, loathing in self-pity. Instead, you are smart enough to learn from your failures and mistakes and change your approach the next time. You don’t give up. You have the strength necessary to take the lessons learned, correct those mistakes and failures, and then begin again with new knowledge and a drive that will pull you through the most difficult of times. We know that with God, nothing is impossible, but as a student of God’s Word and the precepts that are contained within, we understand that any true success obtained must follow His principles. Otherwise, any human success we achieve will not be pleasing to God and will not ultimately advance the building of His kingdom. Be a successful kingdom builder; there is no other type of success. Matthew 7:24-29 “Anyone who listens to my teaching and follows it is wise, like a person who builds a house on solid rock. Though the rain comes in torrents and the floodwaters rise and the winds beat against that house, it won’t collapse because it is built on bedrock. But anyone who hears my teaching and doesn’t obey it is foolish, like a person who builds a house on sand. When the rains and floods come and the winds beat against that house, it will collapse with a mighty crash.” When Jesus had finished saying these things, the crowds were amazed at his teaching, for he taught with real authority—quite unlike their teachers of religious law. As you ponder this nugget of wisdom for yourself, please encourage your friends and family to join us and then come along tomorrow for another day of our Wisdom-Trek, Creating a Legacy.
