“Instead of talking to God, listen for Him by sitting in silence and asking Him to speak to your spirit” - Wesleyne
1st Kings 19:12:
And after the earthquake, there was a fire, but the LORD was not in the fire. And after the fire, there was the sound of a gentle whisper.
In 1st Kings, we find the story of Elijah the prophet, who was on the run from those who sought to kill him. Alone and afraid, he sought refuge on a mountain and cried out to God for help. In response, God spoke to him in a still, small voice. That powerful moment will serve as a reminder to you today that God speaks to you in many different ways, and you must be open and receptive to His voice.
We often expect God to speak to us in grandiose ways, through signs and wonders, but sometimes he speaks in the quiet and the ordinary. It is in those moments that you must quiet yourself, listen carefully, and be ready to act on what you hear. May you never underestimate the power of God's still, small voice in your life, and may you always be open to his leading and guidance.
