Jen Ingram:

If you're listening this you're probably a woman who has had a lot of successes in your life, you have probably had some pretty strong career successes previously or business successes. you're a high achiever, okay? You've achieved a lot. But yet, you still have that little nagging voice in the back of your head that says, I could lose it all tomorrow. And you want so fucking bad to know that you could lose it all tomorrow. And you would just want to know, you would be still be okay. And this is where the trust itself and the belief itself comes in. And this is where I'm telling you that that trust of knowing exactly who the fuck you are, and just owning it. This is where that comes in. This is where that fear and that small, nagging voice of Oh shit, I can lose everything tomorrow, it can come into play, and it really doesn't matter. It really doesn't matter. Because you know, you've got you, you know, at the end of the day, you've got your own back.

Jen Ingram:

Welcome to a whole lot of shift Podcast, the podcast for multi passionate women with an entrepreneurial spirit, where we provide inspiration, motivation, and education to help you shift away from all the shoulds and supposed TOS to what's truly possible for you in your business and your life. All on your own terms. You ready, girl? Let's make shift happen. Hello, and welcome to another episode of a whole lot of shift. I am so excited today, this is going to be a solo episode. But I have something that is just really kind of been weighing on me this week. And it's something that I feel is extremely important. And it's something I'm very passionate about. And so I was sitting here this Sunday afternoon, and I was like, I have got to just sit down and hit record while this is fresh in my mind. And I am in this energy to share this in the way that I want to share it. And so I hope that if you're listening to this and you're needing a little bit of a reality check a little bit of a kick in the ass. I'm a little bit different energy than what I typically give. I then I hope that this this brings you what you need, because this is a topic that's very important to me. So the first thing I want to say is, if you're not already in the whole leadership Facebook group, I strongly encourage you to go over there. I was partially inspired for today's episode, based on some some comments on a post doubt that were made in that group. And it was a combination of some comments that were in that post and talking to some of you. And also something that came across on a retreat that I was on just a week ago. And so I want to share some of that with you, I also encourage you to go to that group, because I did share a lot of information about what I learned on my recent retreat. And I also shared some information about why I go on so many retreats and you're gonna find throughout the this podcast and or if you join my group that I'm a big proponent of retreats, because I do believe that really immersing yourself on location in that type of environment where you are making significant bonds with others around you who are experiencing some of the same things. And really being on location with with a coach in that format is really impactful is really powerful. That's not to say that you don't have successes and that you don't have impact or connection, when you do meet online or any other one on one coaching that you may do or group coaching that you may experience. But being on location and really immersing yourself in in an experience is is just a whole other ballgame. So anyways, I share a lot of information as well as various retreats that I have been on. And I share links to those those hosts in my group. And I talk a lot about it. And I've of course shared that in 2024 I'll be hosting my own retreat. So if you're not yet in the whole lot of shift Facebook group, I strongly encourage you to do so. So today's episode is something that that I believe very firmly in you guys are going to hear me talk a lot about this as well as something that you you'll hear me talk a lot about is the first thing that's super important to me that I truly believe is a real game changer in in making that shift in your business or any kind of change that you want into your life. I truly believe the real game changer. Whether you're making a change in your career, your finances your religion. friendships, your health, your weight, whatever it is a truly believed that there are five key steps to that change. But the real game changer that happens is in that moment when you finally just show the fuck up. And, and it's truly just as simple as that. And I know that that seems crazy like, Oh no, but but there's got to be more, right because I gotta have the right tools and I gotta have the right team, I gotta have all these other things. Look, I'm not saying that there's not value there. But I can assure you, I can assure you that 90% of your business success will be dependent on how you show up, how consistently you show up, and truthfully, just showing up for yourself, your clients, your customers, whoever it is that you're serving. Number one game changer. Again, I Well, I'm I'm using business as an example. Truly, this is any kind of change you're wanting to make in your life. It is just showing up. You know, a lot of people ask me, Okay, how did you lose over over 100 pounds in the timeframe that you did, and I share the story a million times over, because I think that just talking about weight loss is kind of the prime example. It's something that we can all relate to at some point in our life. And the bottom line is, when I signed up, when I showed up, I did not show up there with the intent to lose over 100 pounds. I truly showed up. And I said my only goal here is to show up three times a week. And to show up for myself, and to do that consistently and not give up after a couple of months. And and build the confidence in knowing that I can consistently show the fuck up three times a week. That was my only goal. That was my only goal. And after I don't know what it was like five weeks or something, I was already down 20 pounds. And I was like, oh, oh, really? It's it's, it's it's that easy. Like, I'm just showing up three days a week. Are you kidding me? So he's a it's just one of the one of the examples, but I promise you, that's a big game changer. But today, I'm going to talk about the second game changer. And this one is, is super important. This came up on on the retreat that I was on recently. And the question that was really asked of us was tapping into trust itself. And we were asked to identify a trust statement. You know, something that we could maybe make a mantra or an affirmation or what have you that that we could kind of go back to and rely on. And when I was presented with this question, one of the things that I did was I kind of went back to a time of Okay, so when was a time when, you know, what statement was it? What was it that I had to give to myself and in what energy when I was going through a really tough time and I went back to a time in which I had been restructured in a corporate job that I was in and I had lost my team and and I'd lost my title and my pay and all this shit was happening all at once, like, at every angle of my life. And I remember, the one thing that I did that was just the ultimate game changer for me was every day, I would start out my day, I would show up to work. And before I would get there early, I would get there before I knew any of my any of my trainees or anybody else that I may have been been mentoring, before anybody else would show up, I would get there early. And I remember I would kind of go into the bathroom, splash the water on my face. And I would run myself. You know who the fuck you are? You know who the fuck you are? Anything can happen. Day and I'm going to use that term very loosely. And I'll have to talk about that on another episode. Because what I'm about to say is very much thought thoughts that that I can now look back on and realize these were simply thoughts. But at that time, the thoughts that I had, were they can take whatever they want away from me. I can lose anything, I can lose everything. It really doesn't matter. Because I know who the fuck I am. And I would say this to myself every day. You know who the fuck you are. And I was unapologetic about it. It really didn't matter to me. In my mind. It didn't matter to me that somebody was telling me that I couldn't do something didn't matter unapologetically. You can say what you need to I know who the fuck I am. This is the second game changer that is really going to make a change in your business, this goes back to trust and truly getting back to knowing who you are owning it, believing in you, what you bring to the table. And knowing that you don't need any kind of title, or suggested success, or anything else you simply are. And you are unapologetic about it. This is the game changer. And look, I get it, you know, you're, you're like, Well, I do know, I do know who I am. I do want to know what I want. Okay, let me let me tap into this a little bit further, we're talking about the true trust itself. So

Jen Ingram:

when I was presented with this question about what what would be your, your, your trust statement, and the statement that I ended up coming back to, you know, and it was so interesting, because I was at this retreat, and we were kind of going around, and people were sharing, like, you know, some, some really feel good affirmations. And I'm not saying that there's anything wrong with feel good affirmations, okay. As you guys know, if you if you've listened to me, or if you're part of the group, you know, that that's my typical content, and usually the energy that I come at you with, this is a little bit different energy today, and I hope that you know, that this is truly from a place of love. Because I see so many women out here, accepting less for themselves and playing small that this, I understand that the energy that I'm providing today is a lot harder than I would normally be in. But this is so fucking important to me. Know Who the fuck you are, and own it, unapologetically. So when I was at this retreat, and we were going around, and we were trying to give our trust statements, and, and some of the girls were, you know, coming up with some some really amazing kind of inspirational affirmations, if you will, you know, I am, you know, I am this big hearted, kind person, whatever. And, by the way, I don't know that these were their words, I'm just kind of rambling on. But they were kind of these feel good statement if you were. And then it got to me. And this was when I really took the time to kind of tap in, when was the last time in which I knew no matter what, no matter what was occurring in my life, no matter what my fears were, what was it that got me to trust myself unconditionally. And this was the statement that I said, I know who the fuck I am, period. And I know that when I show up, authentic is fuck, that I am capable of completely changing. Not only my reality, but the reality of those around me. And that is what I know. And that is what I trust, unconditionally, unapologetically. Because I know who the fuck I am. Period, that is absolute trust itself. I know, at the end of the day, no matter what happens, I got me. And so some of you are maybe listening to this and you're thinking, okay, you know, especially if you're listening this, you're probably a woman who has had a lot of successes in your life, you have probably had some pretty strong career successes previously, or business successes. you're a high achiever, okay? You've achieved a lot. But yet, you still have that little nagging voice in the back of your head that says, I could lose it all tomorrow. And you want so fucking bad to know that you could lose it all tomorrow. And you will just want to know, you would be still be okay. It really doesn't matter because you know, you've got you, you know, at the end of the day, you've got your own back. Right? This is about having a freedom like you've never had before. We talk a lot about freedom. And we're gonna I I've had guests on the show previously, who talked about a lot about living in a life of freedom. And we like to think that in some ways, you know, maybe finally leaving your corporate role or just making some different shifts in your life gives you the freedom but I'm talking about I'm talking about the freedom from knowing that anything could change tomorrow, and it doesn't fucking matter. Because you know who you are, and you're unapologetic about it. That's a whole different level of freedom for Eight is not a freedom from a thing. This is a freedom from everything that you hear from everybody else. This is the freedom from feeling like you need to listen to other people's opinions, or the freedom from feeling that pressure from family or friends or whatever it is, oh my God, you're going to leave your job? What are you going to do about health insurance? What are you going to do about a 401? K? What are you going to do? I mean, gosh, a job as security, security. And that's what we're told, right. And so I get it, I hear you this note when you know who you are, and I have the absolute belief and trust and self, this is about hearing all of that and saying, Thank you. Thank you for wanting to keep me safe, I appreciate you, I am grateful for those words. And I kindly am going to have to let those words simply have a seat somewhere else. And I'm gonna have to save those words for someone else for a different date. Because that's not that's not who I am. Because I know that I got me at the end of the day. And that's all that really matters. This is one of the biggest game changers in your business. Because this is when you finally do get to start showing up and stop worrying about doing things, quote unquote, the right way. This is more about knowing that. And, and by the way, I really hate to just limit this to talking about business. Because I do want to say, this is very impactful, even if you're looking at a career, change a job, change anything of that nature as well. And for some of you that career change is what you're wanting to use as one of the vehicles to help you get your side hustle off the ground. And so I understand that that is that was a part of my that wasn't my plan. And part of what I did as well. So I get that it works the same way. This is about trusting in yourself that says, I know what I bring to the table, I know that I'm worth more, I'm tired of being undervalued and underappreciated. And I know who I am. I know who I am. I know that I'm capable of bigger, I'm done playing small, I'm ready to fully show up. But I'm ready to show up as I am. I don't need to show up according to anybody else's standards. I don't need to show up according to anybody else's. Thoughts of how I'm supposed to show up. This is truly owning exactly who you are, and knowing who you are. One of the things that that we tend to do when we aren't completely clear on what it is that we want in life, what starts to happen is we end up living a life that's really kind of guided by other people, by society, family, friends, mentors, what have you, they they kind of end up creating a path that they may think is right for you. And that's the path that you kind of end up on, because you aren't completely clear on what you want, and who you are. And truly owning that. This is this is such an important and just absolutely important part of making that shift from Yeah, I think I'm going to try this little side hustle to saying I have a business. Okay, this is truly making that shift. This is making that shift to knowing that you trust in yourself, your beliefs, your desires, like way more than what any survey says in a coach's opinion. Whatever it is, and those little nudges that you get, like deep in your gut, instead of doubting them and saying, Well, you know, maybe they're right, maybe I am just supposed to do XYZ. This is about saying no, I know who I am. Thank you. But no thank you. And leaning into that and owning it and moving forward with it. Something that when you have that feeling and it just sets you on fire, you just own it and you just freakin go with it. This is so so important. I'm telling you, the moment that you step into that power so this is this is the other piece of this because I feel like I am kind of rambling on and on. And I apologize for that. The moment that you step into that power, what starts to happen is now you're operating on a completely different vibrational frequency. And what starts to happen is the circumstances that you do desire most, that are more aligned with you, because you're finally showing up is you and only you, and you're unapologetic about it. And finally doing that
