A Crushing Hurt – Daily Wisdom

Welcome to Wisdom-Trek with Gramps. Wisdom is the final frontier in gaining true knowledge. We are on a daily trek to create a legacy of wisdom, seek out discernment and insights, and boldly grow where few have chosen to grow before. Hello, my friend; this is Gramps. Thanks for coming along on today’s trek as we increase Wisdom and Create a Living Legacy. Proverbs 16:16 How much better to get wisdom than gold, and sound judgment than silver!  We are on Day 1666 of our Trek, and it’s time to explore another nugget of wisdom, which includes an inspirational quote along with some wise words from Gramps for today’s trek. If you apply the words you hear today, over time, it will help you become more healthy, wealthy, and wise as you continue your daily trek of life. So let’s jump right in with today’s nugget:

Today’s quote is from Beth Moore, and it is: A crushing hurt comes to our heart, and the sympathizing, scarred hand of Christ presses the wound; and just for a moment, the pain seems to intensify...but finally the bleeding stops.

A Crushing Hurt

There are times in our lives where we are overcome by physical, emotional, and even spiritual hurts and disappointments. It may be an illness or disease in ourselves or a close loved one. It may be the loss due to the death of our spouse, family member, or close friend. It may be an emotional struggle where those we love most abandon us or treat us harshly. It may be where we have fallen away from God’s precepts and living a life that is contrary to His Word.  When we are in the pit of despair or the dungeon of gloom, we need to turn by faith to the only one who can provide true peace and comfort. At first, as we begin to climb out of the valley, it may seem like the scarred hand of Christ is hindering us as He walks us through the deepest darkest valleys and up the rocky paths that take us upwards. As we continue, we will realize that the sun begins to shine again by God's grace and that we are being made whole. I recognize that our complete deliverance will only come when we dwell in eternity with Christ, but the pain will subside, and the bleeding of our hearts will stop. We can then look back and realize that Jesus never abandoned us but comforted us when we needed it most.

1 Peter 2:22-25

He never sinned,

nor ever deceived anyone.

He did not retaliate when he was insulted,

nor threaten revenge when he suffered.

He left his case in the hands of God,

who always judges fairly.

 He personally carried our sins

in his body on the cross

so that we can be dead to sin

and live for what is right.

By his wounds

you are healed.

Once you were like sheep

who wandered away.

But now you have turned to your Shepherd,

the Guardian of your souls.
