Abdel Razzaq Takriti speak in this session recorded at Socialism 2024. During the 1948 Nakba, most of southern Palestine was ethnically cleansed by settler-colonist militias. Many refugees ended up in Gaza, playing a key role in the development of Palestinian revolutionary thought and practice. This talk examines the centrality of Gaza to Palestinian liberation, as well as the repeated settler-colonial attempts to attack, besiege and, ultimately, to destroy it. Placing the genocide in historical context, it also reflects on future emancipatory prospects and the role of international solidarity. The next Socialism Conference will be held in Chicago, July 3-6. Learn more about the Socialism Conference at www.socialismconference.org.
