In the third episode of the ‘Women In Tech’ series, Kira Owen is joined by Portuguese entrepreneur Cristina Fonseca. Cristina co-founded the first cloud native Call Center solution, Talkdesk, which went on to become one of Portugal’s first unicorns. In 2018, she co-founded Cleverly.ai, an Artificial Intelligence automation startup, which was acquired by Zendesk in 2021. Cristina is also an investor and part of the founding team of Indico Capital Partners.

Kira and Cristina talk about funding for tech female CEOs; the imbalance of females in the sector and Cristina’s thoughts on how to fix it. Cristina also tells Kira what she believes founders should be focusing on in order to be competitive and how challenging times bring the best opportunities. They discuss resilience, learning from your mistakes and being an outlier.
