Shownotes

This week we have something – or should I say someone – a little different for you. After interviewing Becky Valentine for episode 97 and hearing how much she learned about leadership through dramatically stepping out of her comfort sound and acting in a play with Royal Shakespeare Company, I was intrigued to learn more.

So, this week, I’m delighted to bring you this interview with Becky Morris, who was the director for the Nottingham group who would go on to perform on the RSC stage.

Becky has worked in education since 2007, initially as the Community Arts Manager, and then Extended Services Manager for a group of schools, and now teaching and lead of student welfare and enrichment for sixth form.

Alongside this she also started up a theater company called The Felley Players in 2001 and now continues to provide freelance theater support services.

I absolutely loved recording this episode for you and it was a powerful reminder of how much we can learn when we step out of our lane. It’s very easy to speak to the same people, read the same books and go to the same places, yet we can learn so much when we step away from our own norms and venture out of our comfort zone.

Before we get into this episode, head over to the Online Course page of my website - https://www.ben-morton.com/ - where you can sign up for my 10-4-10 Leadership Course. It's totally free, it's bite-sized, and it covers some of the most common leadership topics and challenges I get asked about. It also gets consistently great feedback.
