Hi, I'm Bill Sikkens,

with this week's Tech Wednesday.
4
:
Like our computers, our phones are
pretty much just the same thing.
5
:
A computer, and they are subject
to getting malware and viruses
6
:
and all of the different things
that you can have on your PC.
7
:
While generally more secure,
it is a good idea to monitor these things
8
:
and see if something is going on
to make sure that your private data
9
:
is not being shared
with someone that you don't know about.
10
:
Our phones have our banking
data, contact lists and everything else,
11
:
and this is a really, really consolidated
12
:
area of information
that the bad guys do try to target.
13
:
We've seen a few attacks
coming out over the past six months or so,
14
:
and it does seem like there's more
15
:
of this going on that's specialized
for these type of environments.
16
:
Best thing you can do is,
like with your computer,
17
:
make sure your phone's up to date.
18
:
Both Android and Apple have a way to go
into the settings and check this out.
19
:
The updates do come in automatically,
but you can delay them
20
:
so it is best
to just make sure they are installed.
