Shownotes
Long before the invention of the automobile, Rifled barrels, shoot even the gun powder itself, mankind had joined forces with his four legged friend in a mutually beneficial relationship to pursue game. Now fast forward a few hundred years and put yourself in the heart of the south eastern united states in the fall and you just might hear the distant baying of hunting dog hot on the track of a whitetail deer. To some this may seem unordinary but to many people in the south it’s a tradition, a hunting heritage that goes so much deeper than the successful harvest of an animal. To truly explain what I mean we are joined this week by Billy Morton to talk about his book as well as the heritage, history and tradition of running deer dogs.
