Today I want to talk about something that so many teenagers struggle with: assertiveness. So many people struggle to learn how to be assertive without rubbing people the wrong way.
So, what is assertiveness? Assertiveness is an important skill for effective communication. It allows you to communicate your wants and needs in a healthy manner. So many people tend to interpret assertiveness as being hostile or even rude. There is a right way and a wrong way to being assertive, and one of the key factors is tactfulness.
A good way to practice this interpersonal skill is to assert your opinions in low stress situations. Go out and practice being more assertive in a non-agressive and non-confrontational manner.
