In this episode, we'll be diving into a topic that's close to my heart – the perception of life as a competition, especially for us moms. I've often felt the pressure to prove my worth in my job, my community, and my role as a mom. I know you can probably relate. It's easy to get caught up in clinging onto our identities and accomplishments, fearing that if we support others, we might get left behind.
But here's the thing – it's crucial for us to give each other the benefit of the doubt and trust that we're all on our unique paths. That's why mentorship, guidance, and continuous learning are such important aspects of personal growth. I've experienced the power of both receiving and giving support, and it's incredible how it can help us shine and grow.
What you'll hear in this episode:
[0:00] Mentorship is receiving and giving
[2:20] People see you as competition now. What can you do?
[4:00] The scarcity mindset mentality and how to overcome it.
At some point in time people do start to guard themselves. People do look and say, Okay, if I help this person, are they going to take this from me? But your job is to just look at yourself and say, Okay, I'm showing up with the right intention. I'm not looking to take I may be looking to receive, but I'm also willing to give because mentorship guidance learning's, it is a receiving and giving. So you may receive guidance, education information, a shortcut, but what can you give in return? One is praise, gratitude. Also, people want to see you shine, many, many times, they want to see you shine, they want to see you grow. But if you're starting to realize that people around you are giving up maybe as much as they used to see that is your now competition and growth and maybe you need to find a mentor, or someone else.
