Shownotes

Let me do some math with you that's going to sting. You take a week off. The week before is frantic because you're prepping everything so nothing's left hanging. You're off, but you're checking in twice a day because you're worried about what's piling up. Then you come back to a week of catching up on everything that stalled. So your one week off cost you three weeks of energy, and you came back more tired than when you left. That's not a time management problem. No productivity system fixes that. It's a structural problem. Everything in your business runs through one person, and that person is you.

Last week I said your community doesn't run itself, and that the healthy goal is one that runs with less of you rather than none of you. This is the episode on how to actually get there. And here's the kind part: you didn't become the bottleneck because you're a control freak. You became it because at the beginning, you were supposed to be. Nobody ever told you when to stop.

In this episode:

  • The one-week exercise that shows you exactly where you're the chokepoint, and the four buckets to sort it into
  • Why most founders hand off in the wrong order, and what breaks when they do
  • The order I'd actually use, starting with the stuff your members will never notice
  • The handoff category almost everyone misses (hint: it's your members)
  • How being helpful within the hour quietly trains your room to stop answering each other
  • What to do when you can't afford to hire anyone, which is most of it
  • Why bucket four is the one you keep, and keep fiercely

🎙️ HELP ME BUILD EPISODE 100

We're two episodes out from one hundred, and I'd rather answer your questions than do a clip show of my own greatest hits. Send me anything: what you're stuck on, the thing you've always wanted to ask, the money side, the burnout side. Voice memos are my favorite, because hearing you ask it in your own words beats me reading it off a page. Typed is completely fine too. Link's below.
