David shares personal anecdotes and insights, encouraging listeners to reflect on their own journeys and the "signposts" that mark their experiences with God. The show also features engaging trivia questions, light-hearted humor, and heartfelt prayer requests, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. Tune in for a blend of spiritual wisdom and relatable storytelling that aims to inspire and uplift your spirit.

A lively and engaging discussion unfolds as David Spoon introduces listeners to the day's themes and topics on the David Spoon Experience. With an emphasis on maintaining a joyful heart regardless of life's challenges, David reminds his audience that their ultimate help comes from the Lord. The show is packed with personal anecdotes and reflections, drawing connections between timeless biblical principles and contemporary life experiences. One memorable segment includes a humorous reimagining of a classic parable, which David whimsically titles 'The Meanie, the Weenie, and Mr. Cool Dude.' Through this light-hearted narrative, he illustrates the importance of compassion and neighborly love, encouraging listeners to embrace their role in helping others rather than shying away from difficult situations.

As the show progresses, David invites audience participation through trivia questions that not only entertain but also educate. A trivia question invites listeners to recall where Jesus lived as a boy, showcasing the blend of fun and faith that characterizes the show. With heartfelt prayers for those in need, including a special mention for Keith Oakley, David emphasizes the communal aspect of faith, urging listeners to share their own prayer requests and praise reports. This balance of humor, spiritual insight, and heartfelt connection forms the backbone of the episode, reminding everyone of the power of community in their faith journey.

The episode culminates in a reflective segment on the journey of faith, inspiring listeners to establish their own 'road markers' as they navigate life's path. Drawing from Jeremiah 31:21, David encourages setting up signposts to remember where God has led them, reinforcing the idea that the journey itself is as significant as the destination. This rich tapestry of themes—from humor and trivia to profound spiritual truths and community support—creates an experience that is both enlightening and uplifting, making for a memorable installment of the David Spoon Experience.

David Spoon:

And now for something completely different.

David Spoon:

Here's what's coming up this hour on Today's Experience.

David Spoon:

It's fantastic, phenomenal, always fun, usually somewhat fascinating Friday, as we head into the weekend not being afraid, even if the earth gives way or the mountains fall into the sea, because our help comes from the Lord.

David Spoon:

First, get ready crime stoppers.

David Spoon:

Because it's another fantastic, phenomenal, incredible, outrageous, stupendous, awesome and breathtaking.

David Spoon:

Friday.

David Spoon:

We start by understanding something that resonates with us because we've driven in cars.

David Spoon:

Truth be told, this text makes more sense for us than it does for almost any other generation.

David Spoon:

We're going to consider our own signs.

David Spoon:

Wow, that's brave.

David Spoon:

Next, we're gonna take a brief visit into one of the more classic parables ever taught by Jesus.

David Spoon:

I, of course, am renaming it for this particular teaching, which I taught at a junior high school over 40 years ago.

David Spoon:

The title of this one's called the Meanie, the weenie and Mr.

David Spoon:

Cool Dude.

David Spoon:

I never promised anybody who listens to this show a high level of maturity, but I do promise to do my very best to make the word of God applicable.

David Spoon:

Finally, this is one of those portions where you'll probably wanna just use a highlighter if you're able to.

David Spoon:

Cause we're gonna discover just how good God really is, whether we are young or old.

David Spoon:

The Lord is going to teach all of us his own version.

David Spoon:

His own version of the Arthur Murray Studio.

David Spoon:

That's right, the Arthur Murray Studio.

David Spoon:

There's even a great secular song entitled let's Dance that ties in perfectly.

David Spoon:

How fun is this going to be?

David Spoon:

Here's what else we're looking at during the show.

David Spoon:

Lessons for surviving living and prevailing politics.

David Spoon:

Entertainment and current events.

David Spoon:

Personal revelation, Spiritual observations.

David Spoon:

My life's insanity is an oy vey.

David Spoon:

So much more.

David Spoon:

Now, we've been telling you it's not professional radio, so we are going to talk to the Shazam of professional radio right here, our very own Jammin Jacob.

David Spoon:

Jammin Jacob.

David Spoon:

Mr.

David Spoon:

Shazam.

David Spoon:

Is the David Spoon Experience professional radio?

Jacob:

Um, no.

Jacob:

It is Not David.

David Spoon:

Wow, you're right.

David Spoon:

Shazam.

David Spoon:

Did you like that one?

David Spoon:

That was a good one.

Jacob:

That was a good one.

David Spoon:

Yeah, there it is.

David Spoon:

It's just radio.

David Spoon:

You're thinking, I know, but that last 25 minutes, you were scorching the earth.

David Spoon:

I know, but it was fun.

David Spoon:

Besides, it's truth.

David Spoon:

And if you love the Lord, you love the truth.

David Spoon:

It's just that simple.

David Spoon:

So we're just gonna ask you.

David Spoon:

What do you think?

David Spoon:

Huh?

David Spoon:

What do you think?

David Spoon:

You okay?

David Spoon:

You doing all right?

David Spoon:

-:

David Spoon:

-:

David Spoon:

-:

David Spoon:

-:

David Spoon:

I promise I won't bite.

David Spoon:

972.

David Spoon:

-:

David Spoon:

Well, by golly, then you'll end up talking to.

David Spoon:

Jamming.

David Spoon:

Talking to Jim and Jacob is like heading into the weekend.

David Spoon:

Hello.

Jacob:

Thank you, David.

Jacob:

Happy Friday.

Jacob:

Happy heading into the weekend.

David Spoon:

Happy heading into the weekend, my friend.

David Spoon:

Should be a very interesting weekend.

David Spoon:

We will be doing Jake's take.

David Spoon:

That will be something that is very important for us to cover.

David Spoon:

Again.

David Spoon:

Again, I'm pointing out to the audience, please be in prayer for little Burt.

David Spoon:

If Bert is not doing better by Sunday and Monday, I'm gonna probably have to do a replay and take him in.

David Spoon:

So we're just kind of working through this process.

David Spoon:

He's having a hard time breathing.

David Spoon:

And I was doing better just towards the end.

David Spoon:

But, you know, something you gotta really keep an eye on.

David Spoon:

So that's really uncomfortable now.

David Spoon:

I'm gonna tell you in a second why it is you would wanna reach out to us by email or by text or by phone.

David Spoon:

And then after that, we're gonna pray for Keith Oakley.

David Spoon:

Okay?

David Spoon:

He's one of our brothers who listens to the show and he needs prayer.

David Spoon:

So we're gonna pray for him.

David Spoon:

Then we're gonna.

David Spoon:

Then we'll do our trivia.

David Spoon:

So I'm kind of giving you the lay of the land and how things are going.

David Spoon:

Let's start off by understanding why you would reach out to us.

David Spoon:

You could reach out to us.

David Spoon:

Cause you, in fact, have a praise report, something that's going on.

David Spoon:

And the Lord blessed you this Christmas, this New Year's, you just got this sense, hey, you Know what?

David Spoon:

I think I really got this connection with the Lord.

David Spoon:

I'm really walking in this.

David Spoon:

I just wanna give him praise or.

David Spoon:

I had this happen.

David Spoon:

I had this answered a prayer.

David Spoon:

It was such a blessing.

David Spoon:

It was awesome.

David Spoon:

I got time with family.

David Spoon:

I never thought I was gonna get.

David Spoon:

It just worked out great.

David Spoon:

I got this really deep discussion with this person, whatever it might be.

David Spoon:

Giving honor and praise to the Lord is exactly how we're supposed to respond to that.

David Spoon:

It strengthens it in you.

David Spoon:

It blesses other brothers and sisters.

David Spoon:

Cause they hear God being active and it glorifies the Lord.

David Spoon:

Maybe you've got a prayer request.

David Spoon:

Keith called in and he needs prayer for health.

David Spoon:

We're going to pray for him and we'll pray for everybody for health.

David Spoon:

Why?

David Spoon:

Because God heals.

David Spoon:

Does he heal when you snap your fingers?

David Spoon:

No.

David Spoon:

God is not your genie.

David Spoon:

He's the Lord God Almighty.

David Spoon:

And we petition him with faith and expectation.

David Spoon:

But we also do it with a spirit of submission.

David Spoon:

Like Jesus who said, not mine, but thy will be done.

David Spoon:

So we can pray as well.

David Spoon:

You can share something that's going on, something that's really phenomenal, something that happened that was just unique or something that the Lord revealed you or scripture.

David Spoon:

And maybe you'll answer Bible trivia.

David Spoon:

But right now we're going to go into prayer for Keith Oakley.

David Spoon:

And I want you to take your faith and mix it with mine.

David Spoon:

And let's pray for our brother.

David Spoon:

Let's pray.

David Spoon:

Father, we come before you right now and we thank you and we praise you.

David Spoon:

We thank you, Lord, that you are sovereign, that you are in control, that you rule the universe.

David Spoon:

And we thank you and praise you for your kindness.

David Spoon:

For your graciousness in allowing us to be your children.

David Spoon:

We're not worthy.

David Spoon:

Lord, you're way phenomenal.

David Spoon:

We're way blessed.

David Spoon:

And we lift up Keith Oakley to you right now in the name of Jesus.

David Spoon:

And you've touched him before and we're asking you to touch him again.

David Spoon:

By the power of your Holy Spirit poured out in the name of Jesus.

David Spoon:

That you would touch Keith and he would know he's being touched by you.

David Spoon:

And you would speak life into our brother and hope and healing.

David Spoon:

We ask your blessing in his life and the peace that passes all understanding.

David Spoon:

To keep his heart and his mind firm in you.

David Spoon:

We pray this in Jesus name, Amen and amen.

David Spoon:

Right?

David Spoon:

Right.

David Spoon:

And we see Amen.

David Spoon:

Because amen is either yes, let it be, or so it shall be.

David Spoon:

Those are all great things and reasons to say amen here.

David Spoon:

By the way, is your first trivia question.

David Spoon:

Let's see if you can get this rolling, and then we'll get into some of the teaching again.

David Spoon:

Bert having a little bit of a hard time breathing.

David Spoon:

And so we're just in prayer for my little dog.

David Spoon:

No, I don't think it's the most important.

David Spoon:

Praying for Bert's not the most important thing, but it's important to me, and because of that, it's important to the Lord.

David Spoon:

That's just as simple as you can make it.

David Spoon:

Let's do this trivia question.

David Spoon:

Where did Jesus live as a boy?

David Spoon:

Was it Jerusalem, Nazareth, Bethlehem or Bethany?

David Spoon:

Where did Jesus live as a boy?

David Spoon:

Was it Jerusalem, Nazareth, Bethlehem or Bethany?

David Spoon:

The answer is in Luke, chapter 2, verse 39, 40.

David Spoon:

Luke, chapter 2, verses 39 through 40.

David Spoon:

Where did Jesus live as a boy?

David Spoon:

Jerusalem, Nazareth, Bethlehem or Bethany?

David Spoon:

-:

David Spoon:

-:

David Spoon:

-:

David Spoon:

-:

David Spoon:

Or you can send an email davidemustincrease.org There you go.

David Spoon:

All right.

David Spoon:

Straightforward.

David Spoon:

Where did Jesus live as a boy?

David Spoon:

Jerusalem, Nazareth, Bethlehem or Bethany?

David Spoon:

Luke 2,39,40 is where you'd get that reference point.

David Spoon:

In the meantime, we will do our DNA while I hit the microphone with my hand.

David Spoon:

I hope you heard that.

David Spoon:

That was pretty good.

David Spoon:

Didn't hurt.

David Spoon:

But it does show you how bad I am at this stuff.

David Spoon:

It does show you.

David Spoon:

It does.

David Spoon:

Like, I'm really bad at this stuff.

David Spoon:

Right?

David Spoon:

Okay.

David Spoon:

We're getting ready to do the DNA, but somebody is calling in.

David Spoon:

So we'll do the perfect trivia question.

David Spoon:

Stall.

David Spoon:

The perfect trivia question.

David Spoon:

Stall right here.

David Spoon:

And what we're going to do is we're going to do our DNA while somebody tells Jam and Jacob whether they're ready to answer the trivia question about Jesus.

David Spoon:

And if they're ready to answer, we'll give them that chance to do so, as he is now putting them on hold and looking at me and saying, dave, I do believe we have somebody that's gonna answer the trivia question.

David Spoon:

Is that correct?

David Spoon:

It is.

David Spoon:

All right, let's send them on through.

David Spoon:

Knock, knock.

David Spoon:

This is David.

David Spoon:

Who am I talking to?

Brandon:

This is Brandon.

David Spoon:

Hi, Brandon.

David Spoon:

Can you do me a favor to turn your radio down just a little?

David Spoon:

Cause it'll echo if you got the radio on.

Brandon:

Oh, okay.

David Spoon:

Okay, thank you so much.

David Spoon:

I appreciate that.

David Spoon:

Okay, so tell everybody your name again.

David Spoon:

Go ahead and fire that off again.

Brandon:

Okay.

Brandon:

Yes.

Brandon:

Brandon.

David Spoon:

Brandon.

David Spoon:

All right, Brandon, here you go.

David Spoon:

I'm gonna set you up for it, and then you tell me what the answer is.

David Spoon:

Here we go.

David Spoon:

Where did Jesus live as a boy?

David Spoon:

Was it Jerusalem, Nazareth, Bethlehem, or Bethany?

Brandon:

It was Nazareth.

David Spoon:

That is correct.

David Spoon:

Amen.

David Spoon:

Yes, you are right.

David Spoon:

It was Nazareth, Nazareth, Luke 2, 39, 40.

David Spoon:

And in fact, in Acts, chapter 2, in chapter 3 and chapter 4, they say Jesus of Nazareth.

David Spoon:

I mean, they specifically say that as one of his titles.

David Spoon:

It's used multiple times.

David Spoon:

So it's very interesting to note that that that's how the early disciples even identified them, so that people could know.

David Spoon:

Excellent Job, sir.

David Spoon:

Very, very good.

Brandon:

Yeah, and in the Old Testament it says that, but Jesus himself, He.

Brandon:

He actually spoke about it when he actually.

Brandon:

I think it was when he first preached, when he was actually announcing who he was before the.

Brandon:

Before the people.

Brandon:

It was a Nazareth, wasn't it, when that was.

Brandon:

That happened?

David Spoon:

Yeah, he was.

David Spoon:

He was.

David Spoon:

Now, here's one of the funny things about that, and this is something that people, they do miss this, but I'm just going to share it because people.

David Spoon:

So Jesus was from Nazareth.

David Spoon:

He wasn't a Nazarite, he was a Nazarene because a Nazarite took a vow and they couldn't drink wine or anything like that.

David Spoon:

But a Nazarene didn't take that vow.

David Spoon:

So isn't that interesting?

Brandon:

Okay.

David Spoon:

That's kind of cool, huh?

Brandon:

Yeah, it is.

David Spoon:

That's cool.

Brandon:

It is.

David Spoon:

Excellent.

Brandon:

Excellent job.

David Spoon:

Excellent job, brother.

David Spoon:

I appreciate it.

Brandon:

Yeah, no problem.

Brandon:

Thank you.

David Spoon:

All right, God bless you.

Brandon:

You too.

David Spoon:

Bye.

David Spoon:

Bye.

Brandon:

Bye.

David Spoon:

That was fun, right?

David Spoon:

Yay.

David Spoon:

We love stuff like that.

David Spoon:

All right, let's get into it.

David Spoon:

Here's our first teach.

David Spoon:

I'm going to make this really easy.

David Spoon:

Oh, wait, we do have to do our DNA.

David Spoon:

Sorry, like, my teaching is more important than DNA.

David Spoon:

Isn't that funny?

David Spoon:

All right, here we go.

David Spoon:

DNA.

David Spoon:

DNA are the building blocks of what we are as Christians.

David Spoon:

Here it is.

David Spoon:

D.

David Spoon:

D stands for draw closer to the Lord Daily.

David Spoon:

Daily.

David Spoon:

And so we just make it this simple every day that ends in Y.

David Spoon:

Spend some time with the guy in the sky.

David Spoon:

Okay, cool.

David Spoon:

Wait, here's another one.

David Spoon:

I love this one.

David Spoon:

This is really my favorite.

David Spoon:

Every day that has a vowel in it.

David Spoon:

Spend time with the Lord.

David Spoon:

Oh, wait, here's another one.

David Spoon:

This is my favorite one, though.

David Spoon:

This is my favorite.

David Spoon:

Every day you get to breathe, Spend time with God.

David Spoon:

Now, how Much time should that be?

David Spoon:

I don't know.

David Spoon:

You have to work that out between you and the Lord.

David Spoon:

I mean, where you do it, when you do it, all that stuff, but just spend it.

David Spoon:

Because the key is connecting deeply, unimpeded, like, no interference, no distractions with the Lord so that it's you and the Lord.

David Spoon:

Not only will your life be better, will your preparation for anything he wants you to do be better, but everybody around you will be better because you're better, because you're doing it with the Lord.

David Spoon:

It's like that's the key in this.

David Spoon:

We gotta be connected.

David Spoon:

It's just so important.

David Spoon:

That's why the scripture talks about Jesus separating and separated for hours and hours.

David Spoon:

Spent the night in prayer on a mountain by himself.

David Spoon:

Because that communion sets everything else up.

David Spoon:

Right relationship creates right ministry.

David Spoon:

Draw closer to the Lord daily.

David Spoon:

D N Never be ashamed of Jesus or his words.

David Spoon:

It is the world's mission when they are influenced by Satan, to shame the word of God.

David Spoon:

Satan has been trying to distort the word of God from from the garden.

David Spoon:

Yea, hath God said, well, is that really what he said?

David Spoon:

Are you sure that's what he meant?

David Spoon:

That's been going on from the beginning.

David Spoon:

Jesus said in Luke 9:26, if you're ashamed of me or my words, then I'll be ashamed of you when I come in the Father's glory with angels.

David Spoon:

It's like no way around that.

David Spoon:

And Jesus title.

David Spoon:

What is it?

David Spoon:

In John 1:1:1 and 1:2, Jesus is called the Word of God.

David Spoon:

Never be ashamed of Jesus or his words.

David Spoon:

D Draw closer to the Lord daily and never be ashamed of Jesus or his words.

David Spoon:

A Always be ready.

Jacob:

To serve.

David Spoon:

To serve.

David Spoon:

You're ready, you're ready.

David Spoon:

If you're spending time with the Lord and you're not ashamed of what he has said, and you're more mindful of him than just the things you have to do.

David Spoon:

Look, I have the same kind of lists, the same kind of chores, the same kind of things that I have to accomplish as everybody else.

David Spoon:

But if I get so caught up in it and I leave no room for God in the day, how am I being ready?

David Spoon:

And it doesn't mean every three seconds you need to turn to the Lord.

David Spoon:

But it's not a bad idea to say every so often I'm here, I want to be used being ready.

David Spoon:

And it's just like, I mean, ready, set, go.

David Spoon:

We got to be ready first.

David Spoon:

That's the whole key.

David Spoon:

Always be ready and think, well, I can't always be ready.

David Spoon:

So my son said, yes, you can.

David Spoon:

Jesus says, you can.

David Spoon:

So was he wrong?

David Spoon:

I don't think so.

David Spoon:

Maybe it just is.

David Spoon:

The idea is to focus a little bit less on us and a little bit more on whatever the Lord wants.

David Spoon:

Right.

David Spoon:

D Draw closer to the Lord daily and never be ashamed of Jesus or his words.

David Spoon:

A Always be ready to serve.

David Spoon:

Very cool.

David Spoon:

All right, so instead of going to the break, which I'm supposed to do, I'm going to teach this little teaching because I just really appreciate it.

David Spoon:

We're getting new phone calls from new listeners.

David Spoon:

We got new people texting in already, like new year, just breaking out the way we hope it will.

David Spoon:

This is called our own signs.

David Spoon:

This is kind of a goofy title for a ddddd for those that don't know, ddddd is Dr.

David Spoon:

Dave's devotional Diamonds of the day.

David Spoon:

These are things that Lord, you know, I commune with the Lord and there's something that comes in the scripture, and I write some stuff down and think, wow, that's really cool.

David Spoon:

I hope I can share it.

David Spoon:

And that's what these are, those moments where I get to share them.

David Spoon:

Jeremiah:

David Spoon:

Set up road markers for yourself.

David Spoon:

Establish signposts.

David Spoon:

Keep the highway in mind, the way you have traveled.

David Spoon:

There's a short one, but it's sweet.

David Spoon:

Set up road markers for yourself.

David Spoon:

Road markers and signposts are indicators of where you've been in your journey with the Lord.

David Spoon:

And the scripture says to keep them in mind.

David Spoon:

Keep the highway in mind.

David Spoon:

Keep this traveling in mind.

David Spoon:

The Lord is brought you from point A to point B.

David Spoon:

What did he do with Israel?

David Spoon:

He took them out of Egypt.

David Spoon:

The bondage through the wilderness, the cleansing into the promised land.

David Spoon:

We go through stages in our journey with the Lord, and the Lord is telling you and I, hey, make signposts.

David Spoon:

Make little markers to remind you where I've taken you from, where I am taking you, what I'm taking you through, and where I am ultimately gonna take you.

David Spoon:

And make sure you keep them in mind.

David Spoon:

Keep the highway in mind.

David Spoon:

The way that you have traveled.

David Spoon:

Do you know how many things the Lord has done for you?

David Spoon:

And you say, oh, he's done so many things.

David Spoon:

And then the next tough question would be, have you written any of those down?

David Spoon:

Do you have a signpost on that?

David Spoon:

Do you have a little marker that indicates that that helps you remember?

David Spoon:

Or do you just put it all in one big pile?

David Spoon:

The Lord is the one who's telling us, hey, set up road Markers.

David Spoon:

Hey, put up signposts.

David Spoon:

Keep that highway in mind.

David Spoon:

Where I've brought you through the way that you've traveled, I've taken you through it.

David Spoon:

Don't forget it.

David Spoon:

And that's what the Lord wants us to do, to remember where he's brought us from, where he's bringing us to, and all of the in between.

David Spoon:

And he's like, I'm doing this for you.

David Spoon:

Make sure you take note of it.

David Spoon:

Keep in mind what I've brought you through and that will help you focus on where I'm bringing you to.

David Spoon:

I mean, that's really what he's trying to communicate, right?

David Spoon:

That's not too complex.

David Spoon:

That's kind of a simple.

David Spoon:

All right, all right, we'll take our break and then we'll come back.

David Spoon:

By the way, you're listening to the David Spoon Experience right here on Kaam 770, the truth station here in Texas.

David Spoon:

Short break, we'll be back.

David Spoon:

Don't go anywhere.

Narrator:

What is the David Spoon Experience and God?

David Spoon:

There's no room there.

David Spoon:

It's like, well, no, no, no, I can not vote for either kingdom.

David Spoon:

Well, let me get this straight.

David Spoon:

You're not voting for the kingdom of God, therefore you're also trying to be a supporter of the kingdom of darkness.

David Spoon:

How does that work?

David Spoon:

That doesn't work.

David Spoon:

And in lieu of that, you know, I had a discussion with my son.

David Spoon:

We were talking about preparation and being ready because you never know when the Lord.

David Spoon:

You don't know when that trumpet's going to blow for you.

David Spoon:

You don't know at that moment where God's going to go, ding dong, time's up.

David Spoon:

And I said, you always got to be ready.

David Spoon:

He said, well, you can't always be ready.

David Spoon:

It's like, no, you always got to be ready.

David Spoon:

Matthew, chapter 24, verse 42.

David Spoon:

Be ready, always be ready.

David Spoon:

For you do not know the day that the Lord will come.

David Spoon:

And that's not just from an eschatological point of view for life.

David Spoon:

That's for you individually.

David Spoon:

You got to be ready and watchful and aware because this is kingdom stuff.

David Spoon:

And there's a kingdom being built to glorify God and there's all the opposing kingdoms.

David Spoon:

And it's a pretty straightforward question, which kingdom are you trying to support?

David Spoon:

That's the question.

David Spoon:

And if you say, well, I'm not supporting any kingdom, then you are opposed to the kingdom of God because you are either helping advance his kingdom or you're in opposition.

David Spoon:

And that's where Jesus split the line.

David Spoon:

And you think well, that, that doesn't seem fair.

David Spoon:

We have a great word around this show that we like to use every once in a while, but with tons of love.

David Spoon:

Tough.

David Spoon:

It's like it's not whether you think it's fair or not, you know?

David Spoon:

Well, I don't think God, a God of love would do it this way or this way.

David Spoon:

Too bad.

David Spoon:

What, you think you're not God?

David Spoon:

That's not up to you.

David Spoon:

Well, that's just what the Bible says.

David Spoon:

Let me get this straight.

David Spoon:

So you believe that God can create the universe, but he can't write a book?

David Spoon:

Boy, that argument's going to get lost every single single time.

David Spoon:

So my whole point in bringing this up is there's, it's not a contradiction at all.

David Spoon:

You're either four in Luke 9, 49 and 50, you're either for the kingdom, advancing the kingdom, driving out demons in the name of Jesus Christ, trying to make declaration for the truth of God, or you're against the kingdom.

David Spoon:

Whether you are verbally, physically against it, or whether you are verbally and physically doing nothing, there is no neutral.

David Spoon:

You are either a kingdom advancer or you are against the kingdom.

David Spoon:

And what is really hard, everybody ready for your noodle to get baked?

David Spoon:

Here is the decisions that we make advance kingdoms.

David Spoon:

Do we consider our decisions before we make these decisions?

David Spoon:

Do we consider what kingdom we are impacting?

David Spoon:

Wow.

David Spoon:

Isn't that tough?

Narrator:

The David Spoon Experience.

David Spoon:

Welcome back to the David Spoon Experience.

David Spoon:

Thank you for joining us here at Kaam 770, the truce station here in Texas.

David Spoon:

That's K double amen.

David Spoon:

770, the truce station here in Texas.

David Spoon:

Getting ready for our next trivia question.

David Spoon:

Not a very difficult question.

David Spoon:

I feel very confident you will get this.

David Spoon:

How many days and nights of solitude, prayer and fasting did Jesus spend in the wilderness?

David Spoon:

Is it 3, 10, 20 or 40?

David Spoon:

So we've heard from Brandon, a first time caller.

David Spoon:

Great to hear from him.

David Spoon:

Let's hear from some other people that have never called in.

David Spoon:

Give a holler, don't be afraid.

David Spoon:

Your answer.

David Spoon:

By the way, your reference, Luke 4:1:2, Luke 4:1:2.

David Spoon:

How many days and nights of solitude, prayer and fasting did Jesus spend in the wilderness?

David Spoon:

Is that 3, 10, 20 or 40?

David Spoon:

Luke 4:1 through 2.

David Spoon:

Right.

David Spoon:

All right.

David Spoon:

Kind of fun right there.

David Spoon:

Give you that opportunity, see what's going on there.

David Spoon:

Let's see, I think Jacob is getting a phone call, so we'll give that a little time.

David Spoon:

I will be doing a couple of jokes just to let you know.

David Spoon:

So you might as well, just get prepared for it.

David Spoon:

For those that are new to the show, this is not your grandfather's radio show.

David Spoon:

It's not your grandmother's radio show because it's my show.

David Spoon:

So it's not neither one of those.

David Spoon:

It's not your grandfather's radio show unless your name is Addybug, Isaiah Anthony Easton, Scott, Anna or Carter Bear, Stella or Cash, then it's your grandfather's show.

David Spoon:

But that's those seven.

David Spoon:

Only those seven.

David Spoon:

Somebody ready to answer the trivia question?

David Spoon:

Let's send them on through.

David Spoon:

Knock, knock.

David Spoon:

This is David.

David Spoon:

Who am I talking to?

Brandon:

Hi, David, this is Fred.

Brandon:

How are you today?

David Spoon:

I'm doing phenomenal, Fred.

David Spoon:

How are you, my brother?

Brandon:

I'm doing fine, sir.

David Spoon:

Awesome.

David Spoon:

Awesome.

David Spoon:

I don't know if you got a chance to hear that very first 20, 25 minutes of the show, but man, it was lights on fire.

David Spoon:

I thought my ears were on fire.

David Spoon:

I mean, I was like, what's going on?

Brandon:

That's awesome to hear.

Brandon:

I hadn't been too long, checked in and already I like what I've heard.

David Spoon:

All right, here you go, bro.

David Spoon:

I'll set you up.

David Spoon:

You tell me what the answer is and how do I know you're gonna get this right?

David Spoon:

I am very confident.

David Spoon:

From Luke 4, 1, 2, how many days and nights of solitude and prayer and fasting did Jesus end up spending in the wilderness?

David Spoon:

Was it 3, 10, 20 or 40?

Brandon:

That would be 40.

David Spoon:

That is correct.

David Spoon:

Amando, sir.

David Spoon:

Excellent job, my brother.

David Spoon:

Excellent.

Brandon:

God bless you and happy New Year again.

David Spoon:

Again.

David Spoon:

Happy New Year to you, my brother.

David Spoon:

Love you in the Lord, brother.

Brandon:

Love you too.

David Spoon:

Bye bye.

David Spoon:

God bless you.

David Spoon:

Bye bye.

David Spoon:

All right, here we go.

David Spoon:

All right, we got to do a couple of jokes, right?

David Spoon:

Well, actually we didn't do history last time, right?

David Spoon:

So let's do history first and then we'll do the jokes if we have time later.

David Spoon:

So go ahead and do the go to history.

David Spoon:

Go ahead.

David Spoon:

Alright, so for those that do not know, on this day, January 3rd, it is fruitcake toss day again.

David Spoon:

Going back to my theory, I know many people get offended by this.

David Spoon:

If you are easily offended, the Bible says you need to work on that because it says love is not easily offended.

David Spoon:

The fruitcake toss theory is there's only one fruitcake in all of the world and everybody just keeps on passing it to one another.

David Spoon:

Another.

Jacob:

Wasn't it fruitcake day last week?

David Spoon:

Yeah, you gotta make fun of fruitcake like two or three times throughout the Christmas year and the New Year's.

David Spoon:

It's Just like a requirement.

David Spoon:

Okay.

David Spoon:

But it's also National Chocolate Covered Cherry Day, which.

David Spoon:

That's good.

David Spoon:

I mean, see, to me, anything that has chocolate, that's the key.

David Spoon:

It's not the chocolate covered.

David Spoon:

It's just chocolate.

David Spoon:

It's like, okay, but chocolate covered carrots, that's not bad.

David Spoon:

You'll like this one.

David Spoon:

On this day in:

David Spoon:

Which is weird because you would think it's like multiple.

David Spoon:

Multiple years ago, but it's only like, you know, 65 years ago.

David Spoon:

So it's like, wow.

David Spoon:

They were the state.

David Spoon:

1959.

David Spoon:

So that's like, wow.

David Spoon:

That's like, you know, 65 years, 66 years ago.

David Spoon:

Right.

David Spoon:

Weird for football fans.

David Spoon:

1983 and this tape.

David Spoon:

Tony Dorset of the Dallas Cowboys made the longest run from scrimmage in NFL history, tying Bob Gage.

David Spoon:

Did you know that?

David Spoon:

I didn't know that.

Jacob:

I didn't know that.

David Spoon:

Yeah, I think that was the 103 yarder.

David Spoon:

He was three yards deep or something.

David Spoon:

Let's see.

David Spoon:

1777, on this day, American General George Washington defeats British General Charles Cornwallis at the Battle of Princeton.

David Spoon:

vy League school back then in:

David Spoon:

Very prestigious now.

David Spoon:

That and the community college.

David Spoon:

Kind of the same thing.

David Spoon:

All right, and then finally, today is JRR Tolkien Day for those that are interested in the literature.

David Spoon:

How's that?

David Spoon:

Good one.

David Spoon:

Not bad.

David Spoon:

All right, ready?

David Spoon:

Anything else going on?

David Spoon:

You okay?

Jacob:

No, I prefer the chocolate covered strawberries, but I do like chocolate covered cherries.

David Spoon:

I do, too.

David Spoon:

Yeah, I do, too.

David Spoon:

You're 100% right.

David Spoon:

Actually, where Noel works at Tom Thumb, they always have chocolate cover coverage.

David Spoon:

Strawberries, that's like one of their big things.

David Spoon:

And they make them.

David Spoon:

They take days and days and days and they make them and they sell them all out.

David Spoon:

You'd just be amazed they're all gone.

David Spoon:

I mean, rarely does she get to bring any home, which is kind of a drag.

David Spoon:

Well, I'm just being honest.

David Spoon:

All right, so let's get into our.

David Spoon:

What are we.

David Spoon:

We're already at the mark, aren't we?

David Spoon:

Way past.

David Spoon:

You know what?

David Spoon:

Let's take our break because I've got this massive, massive teaching I want to do.

David Spoon:

Let's take a break right here and then we'll come back.

David Spoon:

You're listening to the David's Moon Experience right here on Kaam 770, the truth station here in Texas.

David Spoon:

Short break.

David Spoon:

We'll be back.

David Spoon:

Don't go anywhere.

Narrator:

What is the David Spoon experience?

David Spoon:

Now I want to pull this out of Jude.

David Spoon:

Jude only has one chapter.

David Spoon:

Jude is the letter before the Book of Revelation.

David Spoon:

Revelation singular.

David Spoon:

It's the last letter before the Book of Revelation and this is what it says in verses 17 through 19.

David Spoon:

I want you to listen to this and then I want you to think about today, all the stuff that's going on.

David Spoon:

I'm not going to go overly political.

David Spoon:

I want you just to think consider the landscaping that we're all living in right now, the landscape of society.

David Spoon:

It says this.

David Spoon:

But you must remember, beloved, that the predictions of the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ, they said to you in the last times there will be scoffers following their own ungodly passions.

David Spoon:

It is these who cause divisions, worldly people devoid of the Holy Spirit.

David Spoon:

Now listen to that.

David Spoon:

This is a prophecy that is being brought up by Jude, who is a brother to Jesus, won't even identify himself that way.

David Spoon:

Brother to James, who was in charge of the church after the James of Peter.

David Spoon:

James John died in Acts 12.

David Spoon:

In Acts 15, the other James kind of ascends to the position of power, so to speak.

David Spoon:

And he's not in charge of everybody, he's just kind of leading the show.

David Spoon:

And like Peter did in the early church.

David Spoon:

And this is Jude, his brother and the brother of Jesus.

David Spoon:

And he's telling you, you got to remember what the apostle said.

David Spoon:

The apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ.

David Spoon:

He's so humble when he writes that.

David Spoon:

Welcome back to the David Spoon Experience.

David Spoon:

Thank you for joining us here at Kaam 7, the truth station here in Texas.

David Spoon:

That's Ka Men 770, the truth station here in Texas.

David Spoon:

Getting ready for your next trivia question.

David Spoon:

We will play the horn.

David Spoon:

We haven't played the horn in a long time, but we're going to play the horn on this one.

David Spoon:

Here is your trivia question.

David Spoon:

Is the book of Mordecai in the Old Testament, the New Testament, or neither?

David Spoon:

Is the book of Mordecai in the Old Testament, the New Testament, or neither?

David Spoon:

-:

David Spoon:

-:

David Spoon:

-:

David Spoon:

Or you can send an email.

David Spoon:

Davidemustincrease.org is the book of Mordecai in the Old Testament, the New Testament or neither?

David Spoon:

That is the question.

David Spoon:

In the meantime, I'm going to send you up to the website.

David Spoon:

As you often know, we are a ministry that exists on giving.

David Spoon:

So I'm gonna now try to manipulate you into giving.

David Spoon:

No, I'm not.

David Spoon:

All right, here's what we're gonna tell you.

David Spoon:

Nancy's asking.

David Spoon:

Seriously, it's funny.

David Spoon:

Nancy.

David Spoon:

All right, so here's what I'm trying to tell you.

David Spoon:

We need giving to keep doing the ministry.

David Spoon:

That's it.

David Spoon:

You don't need to really get a lot deeper than that, do you?

David Spoon:

I mean, you know, hey, that's what we need.

David Spoon:

If the Lord puts it on your heart, great.

David Spoon:

If he doesn't, no problem.

David Spoon:

If you're not sure, awesome.

David Spoon:

Pray and ask.

David Spoon:

I mean, what we say is visit the website, check it out.

David Spoon:

If you're a giver, it's great.

David Spoon:

If you never give, you should be a giver and you should be giving to home base, which is your church.

David Spoon:

We are a fellowship and we're here to encourage people to draw closer to the Lord.

David Spoon:

That's what we do.

David Spoon:

If you like it and you want to give to it, and the Lord blesses that or says okie dokie, great.

David Spoon:

If not, don't worry about it.

David Spoon:

Still, enjoy everything and anything you can from the ministry.

David Spoon:

Check it all out on the website.

David Spoon:

Hemustincrease.org prayer request.

David Spoon:

Hemostincrease.org praise report.

David Spoon:

Hemostincrease.org looking to give to this ministry.

David Spoon:

Hemostincrease.org confused by what's happening right now.

David Spoon:

Hemustincrease.org hemustincrease.org you can't have a pie without Cool Whip.

David Spoon:

Cool Whip.

David Spoon:

Cool Whip?

David Spoon:

Yeah.

David Spoon:

You mean Cool Whip?

David Spoon:

Yeah.

David Spoon:

Cool Whip.

David Spoon:

Cool Whip.

David Spoon:

Cool Whip.

David Spoon:

Cool Whip.

David Spoon:

Cool Whip.

Unknown Speaker:

You're saying it weird.

David Spoon:

Why are you putting so much emphasis on the H?

David Spoon:

What are you talking about?

David Spoon:

I'm just saying it.

David Spoon:

Cool Whip.

David Spoon:

That might be my third favorite one.

David Spoon:

I'm just saying.

David Spoon:

I just think that's funny.

David Spoon:

All right, your trivia question.

David Spoon:

That's right.

David Spoon:

I have to ask these questions.

David Spoon:

We gotta make sure we get everybody going on.

David Spoon:

This is the Book of Mordecai in the Old Testament.

David Spoon:

The New Testament, or neither?

David Spoon:

In the next segment, we're going to do Jake's take.

David Spoon:

In the meantime, we're going to do a teaching that I did 40 years ago.

David Spoon:

Wow.

David Spoon:

You ready for that?

David Spoon:

All right, is the Book of Mordecai Old Testament, New Testament, or neither?

David Spoon:

By the way, if I forgot to give the phone number, that happens.

David Spoon:

-:

David Spoon:

-:

David Spoon:

-:

David Spoon:

Or send an email davidemasincreased.org now, somebody is ready to answer trivia questions, so you're gonna get spared for about a minute and a half.

David Spoon:

Let's send them on through.

David Spoon:

Knock, knock.

David Spoon:

This is David.

David Spoon:

Who am I talking to?

Brandon:

Hey, David.

Brandon:

Happy New Year.

Brandon:

This is your little brother.

David Spoon:

Hello, Samson.

David Spoon:

How are you, bro?

David Spoon:

Good.

David Spoon:

All right, let me set you up on the question, and then we'll go from there and see what's happening.

David Spoon:

All right?

David Spoon:

The question's pretty straightforward.

David Spoon:

I'm not really feeling like you're going to have too much trouble with this.

David Spoon:

The Book of Mordecai, is it Old Testament, New Testament, or neither?

Brandon:

Oh, it's in the Book of Mormon.

David Spoon:

Stop it.

David Spoon:

Stop it.

Brandon:

No, it's not in the.

David Spoon:

It's not in the Old and the New Testament.

David Spoon:

You are correct, sir.

Unknown Speaker:

Ah.

David Spoon:

Only our audience would do that.

David Spoon:

All right, my friend, what is happening with you?

David Spoon:

How art thou?

Brandon:

Oh, thou.

David Spoon:

Wait, where'd you go?

David Spoon:

He just disappeared.

David Spoon:

Okay, now we gotta wait for him to call back.

David Spoon:

Oh.

David Spoon:

Oh.

David Spoon:

Give him a sound.

David Spoon:

I'M gonna give him a couple seconds because I am gonna be teaching on meanie weenie and Mr.

David Spoon:

, verse:

David Spoon:

And you're going to think, really, you're going to teach this something you taught in junior high?

David Spoon:

Yeah, actually I taught this in junior high assembly and I remember it and have used it on a regular basis once a week for over 40 years.

David Spoon:

That's how important it is.

David Spoon:

But let me send.

David Spoon:

Let's have our brother Samson come right back in because if he was going to share with us, send him on through.

David Spoon:

Knock, knock.

David Spoon:

Samson, that you?

Brandon:

Yes.

David Spoon:

Okay.

David Spoon:

That's okay.

David Spoon:

All right, not a problem.

David Spoon:

All right, talk to me about what's going on with you, bro, because we want to pray for you.

Brandon:

Yes, I desperately need a prayer and God's miracle today.

Brandon:

There is something really urgent and I have to leaning on God.

David Spoon:

Okay, let's believe the Lord for a miracle.

David Spoon:

One of the things that we believe is.

David Spoon:

And one of the things that the Lord has been sharing with a lot of people is get ready to receive.

David Spoon:

And then when I asked the Lord what does that mean?

David Spoon:

He said to believe.

David Spoon:

So here we go.

Brandon:

I'm believing it.

David Spoon:

Let's pray.

David Spoon:

Let's pray for it right now.

David Spoon:

Father, we ask you right now in the name of Jesus that you would bring a provisional and a incredible set of miracles for our brother Samson that his situation can be changed.

David Spoon:

Because Lord, we are absolutely confident in your goodness, that it only takes a moment for a miracle.

David Spoon:

And we ask for you to bring your graciousness, your kingdom, your touch, your resources into Samson's life.

David Spoon:

That instead of having fear, he would have great confidence.

David Spoon:

Instead of being concerned, he would have a sense of peace that you would help him replace the spirit of fear and unsurity and discomfort and challenge and anxiety with a peace that passes all understanding.

David Spoon:

Because his heart and his mind are kept in you.

David Spoon:

But Lord, he needs you to respond.

David Spoon:

He needs the activity of God to manifest.

David Spoon:

We're just asking you in the name of Jesus to be his source and his resource and to help him get through and to help him have confidence in your faithfulness.

David Spoon:

Please help our brother out of this situation that he can find the deliverance he needs.

David Spoon:

For you are a God who rescues us.

David Spoon:

Rescue Samson in Jesus name.

David Spoon:

Amen and amen.

Brandon:

Amen.

Brandon:

Amen.

Brandon:

Thank you.

Brandon:

That's exactly what I needed.

David Spoon:

All right, my brother.

David Spoon:

God bless you.

Brandon:

God bless you and Shabbat shalom.

David Spoon:

Shabbat shalom.

David Spoon:

All right.

David Spoon:

All right.

David Spoon:

Let's do this teaching phenomenal, I think.

David Spoon:

Just get ready for this, okay?

David Spoon:

It's called Yes, I retitled it this Further Junior High.

David Spoon:

I don't want to hear about it.

David Spoon:

Meeny weenie and Mr.

David Spoon:

Cool.

David Spoon:

Dude, you don't get a doctorate by not coming up with nifty names.

David Spoon:

That's not true, but it's funny.

David Spoon:

Luke:

David Spoon:

Jesus replied and said, a man was going down from Jerusalem to Jericho and fell among robbers, and they stripped him and beat him, and they went away, leaving him half dead.

David Spoon:

And by chance a priest was going down that road, and when he saw him, he passed by on the other side.

David Spoon:

Likewise a Levite also, when he came to the place and saw him, passed by on the other side.

David Spoon:

But a Samaritan who was on a journey came upon him, and he saw him and felt compassion and came to him and bandaged up his wounds, pouring oil and wine on them.

David Spoon:

He put him on his own beast and brought him to the inn and took care of him.

David Spoon:

On the next day he took out two denarii and gave them to the innkeeper and said, take care of him, and whatsoever you spend that when I return, I'll pay you.

David Spoon:

Now which of these three do you think proved to be a neighbor to the man who fell into the robbers hands?

David Spoon:

And the lawyer said, the one who showed mercy toward him.

David Spoon:

Then Jesus said to him, go and do the same.

David Spoon:

Now we all know this story.

David Spoon:

We've heard it taught many, many times.

David Spoon:

Unless you're a newer Christian.

David Spoon:

Okay, I want to point out a couple of things that you cannot miss in this story that are critical.

David Spoon:

Number one, there are many commentators and many teachers that say about this commentary that this road that they're traveling on, this road going from Jerusalem to Jericho was a dangerous road and people were it's dangerous to go on it.

David Spoon:

My only comment to all those commentators is then why was everybody in the parable traveling on the road if it was so dangerous?

David Spoon:

It's not like the priest is going with a loaded gun.

David Spoon:

But anyway, let's just skip that.

David Spoon:

That's just a little side note.

David Spoon:

For most people, Jesus asks the question and the answer is more fascinating than we think.

David Spoon:

He says, who is my neighbor?

David Spoon:

And in telling the story he teaches that the Samaritan came upon him.

David Spoon:

So what was the difference between the Samaritan and the Levite and the priest compared to the Samaritan?

David Spoon:

Well, the Levite and the priest went on the other side went out of their way to avoid the connection.

David Spoon:

Not only did they not help, they went out of their way.

David Spoon:

They crossed the other side of the road just so they wouldn't be confronting or coming upon this person.

David Spoon:

They just didn't want to see him.

David Spoon:

And what Jesus teaches us, what did the Samaritan not do?

David Spoon:

He didn't go on the other side of the road.

David Spoon:

He didn't do what it took to avoid.

David Spoon:

He came upon him and then he had compassion on him.

David Spoon:

And what I think is missed, and I'll use this in a practical application, is your neighbor is anyone that God brings into your universe as you're traveling down the path.

David Spoon:

And your goal is not to move the path to avoid encountering them, which is what the Levi did and what the priests did, did they moved or changed their path just so they didn't have the encounter.

David Spoon:

Whoever God brings into your universe as you are traveling on the path towards him, that is your neighbor.

David Spoon:

That's why when they do things and it's like you can't make any real connection to somebody who's on the other side of the world, but you've never seen a picture, never heard, never anything.

David Spoon:

There's like no connection.

David Spoon:

It's whoever God brings into your universe that's your neighbor.

David Spoon:

And what you don't do is go out of your way to avoid them.

David Spoon:

Instead, you want to be, as God calls us to be, a genuine neighbor with a heart that's willing to care.

David Spoon:

That's the big key in meanie weenie and Mr.

David Spoon:

Cool Dude.

David Spoon:

Okay, all right.

David Spoon:

Very simple.

David Spoon:

All right, we'll take our break and then we'll come back.

David Spoon:

We'll make sure to do Jake's take when we do.

David Spoon:

You're listening to the David Spoon experience right here on Kaam 770, the true stationary Texas.

David Spoon:

Short break.

David Spoon:

We'll be back.

David Spoon:

Don't go anywhere.

David Spoon:

That's cow punch sites.

David Spoon:

$57 a month and that's no baloney.

David Spoon:

There.

David Spoon:

That's better.

David Spoon:

Cowpunchsites.com dad, what is the David Spoon Experience?

David Spoon:

Now if anybody gets offended at this, I apologize that you have no sense of humor.

David Spoon:

Okay, like that.

David Spoon:

That's a good line.

David Spoon:

Bomb.

David Spoon:

Bam.

David Spoon:

Alright, here's the first one.

David Spoon:

A pastor was leaving his area and was saying farewell to his congregation at the church door for the last time.

David Spoon:

He shook the hand of an elderly lady as she walked out.

David Spoon:

She said, your successor won't be as good as you.

David Spoon:

Well, nonsense, said the pastor in a flattered tone.

David Spoon:

No, really, said the old lady.

David Spoon:

I've been here under five different ministers and each new one has been worse than the last.

David Spoon:

Ouch.

David Spoon:

Ouch.

David Spoon:

But this one, this is the one that's going to offend people, which is irony, right?

David Spoon:

Because that's more offensive than this is.

David Spoon:

And this is just too.

David Spoon:

And if you guys get offended at this, I, you know, take, take a week off the show.

David Spoon:

It seems there was a minister who had just all of his remaining teeth pulled and new dentures were being made.

David Spoon:

The first Sunday he only preached 10 minutes.

David Spoon:

The second Sunday, he preached 20 minutes.

David Spoon:

But the third Sunday he preached an hour and 25 minutes.

David Spoon:

When asked about this by some of the congregation, he responded this way.

David Spoon:

The first Sunday, my gums were so sore it hurt to talk.

David Spoon:

The second Sunday, my dentures were hurting a lot.

David Spoon:

The third Sunday, I accidentally grabbed my wife's dentures and I couldn't stop talking sometimes.

David Spoon:

Hallelujah.

David Spoon:

Welcome back to the David Spoon Experience.

David Spoon:

Thank you for joining us here at Kaam 770, the Truth Station here in Texas.

David Spoon:

That's Ka.

David Spoon:

Amen.

David Spoon:

770.

David Spoon:

The Truth Station here in Texas is your last trivia question.

David Spoon:

We gotta get on it because we only have so many minutes left in the show.

David Spoon:

Which of Jesus disciples walked on the water with him?

David Spoon:

Andrew, Peter, James or John?

David Spoon:

Your answer is in Matthew:

David Spoon:

Matthew:

David Spoon:

Which of Jesus disciples walked on the water with him?

David Spoon:

Was it Andrew, Peter, James or John?

David Spoon:

-:

David Spoon:

David Spoon:

David Spoon:

David Spoon:

Or you can send an email.

David Spoon:

We get everybody's email.

David Spoon:

Davidemustincrease.org davidemustincrease.org don't forget that very gracious offering that Jeff made.

David Spoon:

Jeff Gross made.

David Spoon:

We talked about it in the very beginning of our show.

David Spoon:

If you didn't get a chance to hear it, go check out the podcast, which will be up in about an hour or so.

David Spoon:

Again, which of Jesus disciples walked on the water with him?

David Spoon:

Andrew, Peter, James or John?

David Spoon:

Your answer in Matthew 14, 28 and 29.

David Spoon:

In the meantime, we're gonna do Jake's take.

David Spoon:

All right, my friends, tell my friend.

David Spoon:

Tell everybody the big news.

Jacob:

Of other lines.

Jacob:

David.

David Spoon:

Yeah, well, I mean, it's as big a game as you can get, so just lay it on the line for.

Jacob:

Well, let's, let's start with the Cowboys.

Jacob:

That's the game with less stakes for this football season.

Jacob:

The Cowboys play Washington in Arlington Sunday.

Jacob:

Going to get my pick real quick.

Jacob:

I have the Washington commanders winning.

Jacob:

I know, I know they're playing the Cowboys, but I do have Washington winning that game.

David Spoon:

Wow.

David Spoon:

I am going to go with the Cowboys.

David Spoon:

A surprise pick because I feel like they need something.

David Spoon:

So I'm going with.

Jacob:

So you're.

David Spoon:

The game is the.

David Spoon:

We need something Cowboys.

David Spoon:

That's what I'm going with.

David Spoon:

I am going feel bad, actually.

David Spoon:

I do feel bad for them.

David Spoon:

I do.

David Spoon:

Go ahead.

Jacob:

All right, then you hinted at it.

Jacob:

The big game is Sunday night.

Jacob:

The Minnesota Vikings facing off against the Detroit Lions.

Jacob:

Both had the same record, so there's a lot at stake here.

Jacob:

There's playoff seating at stake.

Jacob:

Possibly the winner of this game goes on to win the Super Bowl.

Jacob:

Who knows or makes the Super Bowl.

Jacob:

I'm going to give my pick here.

Jacob:

I'm going to pick the Detroit Lions to win.

David Spoon:

I am also being from Detroit for 17 years, also 16 years, also going to pick the Detroit Lions, which would then make them the number one seed instead of the number five seed.

Jacob:

Yes.

Jacob:

And the game's in Detroit.

Jacob:

So that's the, that's one of the big reasons why I'm picking them.

Jacob:

If the game was in Minnesota, I think I would go with the Vikings, but I'm going to go with the Lions Sunday night.

David Spoon:

I agree with you.

David Spoon:

And let's just say go Lions.

David Spoon:

Okay, that's all I'm going to say.

David Spoon:

I'm going to leave it there.

David Spoon:

All right.

David Spoon:

Good job.

David Spoon:

Excellent work.

David Spoon:

We have our trivia question out there.

David Spoon:

Make sure I don't forget to give it the question which of Jesus disciples walked on the water with him?

David Spoon:

Andrew, Peter, James or John?

David Spoon:

In the meantime?

David Spoon:

Jeremiah:

David Spoon:

This is entitled Grace against Grief.

David Spoon:

They will come and shout for joy on the height of of Zion.

David Spoon:

And they will be radiant over the bounty of the Lord.

David Spoon:

Over the grain and the new wine and the oil, and over the young of the flock and the herd.

David Spoon:

And their life will be like a watered garden.

David Spoon:

They will never languish again.

David Spoon:

Verse 13.

David Spoon:

Then the Virgin will rejoice in the dance, and the young man and the old together.

David Spoon:

For I will turn their mourning into joy and will comfort and give them joy for their sorrow.

David Spoon:

Wow, what a passage.

David Spoon:

Jeremiah:

David Spoon:

Radiant with joy.

David Spoon:

They will be radiant with joy.

David Spoon:

Wow.

David Spoon:

What do you get to see?

David Spoon:

They will come and shout for joy on the height of Zion.

David Spoon:

They will be radiant over the bounty of the Lord.

David Spoon:

Radiant with joy because of the goodness of God.

David Spoon:

Let me just help you out real quickly.

David Spoon:

Has God been good to you?

David Spoon:

That's a reason to be radiant with joy.

David Spoon:

Joy comes because of his goodness.

David Spoon:

Joy comes because of his presence.

David Spoon:

Joy comes because of the answer to prayer.

David Spoon:

Remember, Jesus said, ask and you will receive, that your joy may be full.

David Spoon:

And the joy of the Lord is our strength.

David Spoon:

Yeah.

David Spoon:

He says, this is amazing.

David Spoon:

His supplies, the grain, the new wine, the oil, the young of the flock, the herd.

David Spoon:

His supplies will strengthen us.

David Spoon:

God's supply will strengthen you.

David Spoon:

But the key is this one moment.

David Spoon:

He says, I will turn their mourning into joy.

David Spoon:

I will comfort them and give them joy for their sorrow.

David Spoon:

Mourning into joy.

David Spoon:

That discouraging darkness into joy and joy for their sorrow, which means happiness out of our grief.

David Spoon:

How could God do that?

David Spoon:

He's God.

David Spoon:

Is anything too hard for the Lord?

David Spoon:

That was the question that was asked to Abraham.

David Spoon:

No, that is the answer.

David Spoon:

Wow.

David Spoon:

Grace against grief.

David Spoon:

Get ready for it.

David Spoon:

Get ready to receive.

David Spoon:

Which of Jesus disciples walked on the water with him?

David Spoon:

Was it Andrew, Peter, James or John?

David Spoon:

And it was Peter in Matthew:

David Spoon:

Get it?

David Spoon:

Great.

David Spoon:

All right, folks, you have been listening to the David Spoon experience right here on Kaam 770, the truth station here in Texas.

David Spoon:

Taking a 72 and a half hour break.

David Spoon:

More insanity of his then lay me down in peace and sleep for you have made me.
