This week and last week, it's been Easter holidays, and perhaps wherever you are in the world, it's been spring break.
-:
01:08
I hope you've had the most lovely time.
-:
01:13
I hope that you've had the time to do what you want to do.
-:
01:21
I hope that if you've wanted to be with people, you've been with people who you love and care for, and if you've wanted some
-:
01:29
time alone or away from work, that's worked out beautifully for you too.
-:
01:42
Several of my clients have been away on holidays. 1 of my clients is away now for 3 months on a Greek island. How lovely.
-:
01:53
We were having a conversation recently about how changing your environment can change your outlook and it led me to remember
-:
01:58
one of the worst holidays I've ever had.
-:
02:10
I was in my early twenties, and I had just split up from a long term boyfriend, somebody who I really thought that I was gonna be with forever.
-:
02:14
The decision wasn't mine, and I was devastated.
-:
02:18
I decided to take myself off on holiday.
-:
02:22
I left London, and I went to Edinburgh for a week.
-:
02:34
I don't know why I particularly chose Edinburgh, but ever since then, although it's a city I've visited loads of times, I
-:
02:42
can never quite love it like I did before that visit. On that holiday, I was miserable
-:
02:53
beautiful, The people were fabulous. The food was really nice.
-:
03:02
The things that I was doing were lovely, but the thing that was bothering me on that holiday was myself.
-:
03:15
What really would have helped me was perhaps some therapy or someone to talk to, somebody where I could have really let them know how I was feeling.
-:
03:21
Instead, I was caught up in my own thoughts and there was very little escape from them.
-:
03:25
Yes, wherever I went, I was there.
-:
03:33
I hope that if you've had a lovely holiday over the last couple of weeks, you've either been in company that you wanted to
-:
03:39
be with, or if you've been by yourself, you have been really enjoying that.
-:
03:47
I can't advocate enough for fabulous therapy, for talking to people who are prepared to hear what you've got to say.
-:
03:53
Thank you so much for listening in this week. Do come back again next week.
