This episode begins a multi-part series within the series to evaluate the book Created To Be His Help Meet by Debi Pearl.

Chelsea and I agree that any good points in this book are drowned out by what we consider dangerous and unbiblical ideas of marriage. Although there is a proper understanding of wives submitting to husbands, we believe this book takes the idea to an unhealthy extreme.

The book denigrates women by defining their role as lifelong slaves to men.

The book denigrates men by relegating them to base impulses and domineering.

In part 1 of our review, we address Debi Pearl's story of how she and Michael got married. We also examine a strange "trash bag" story that we believe is rather unhelpful.
