Shownotes

John Rucynski has published a collection of essays written by international residents of Japan who are deeply engaged and passionate about Japanese culture, lifestyle, sports, traditions, design and art in a book he edited called "A Passion for Japan". Buy the Book Here.

I was so impressed by the variety of different views of life in Japan from the diverse writers engaged in different aspects of life and culture- it was inspiring to read and I shared many of the sentiments and it sparked new ideas about other topics I had never heard of that I want to find out more about.

John Rucynski is an associate professor in the Center for Liberal Arts and Language Education at Okayama University. We will talk about his most recent books, "A Passion for Japan" a collection of 30 long-term residents of Japan who have diverse and varied views of life, work and travel in Japan.

As a career EFL educator, John also shares some insights about his philosophy of adding humor to EFL classes with second language learners which he has also published textbooks and educational guides about in the last 10 years.
