Shownotes

July is a Disaster Preparedness Month and sadly we see fires around our state and nation. Fortunately, our local fire department is proactively seeking out a multitude of pre-existing conditions for residents and planning for how to better address unique needs during a disaster. “Disasters exacerbate our pre-existing conditions,” says Daiko Abe, Senior Fire and Life Safety Educator with the Colorado Springs Fire Department. Kalee Nappo, Fire and Life Safety Educator, is part of the team who visits long term care communities too. No older adult is overlooked. Get insights on the gaps we miss and where to go to get connected.

Additionally, a thank you to the Beacon Senior News with Rhonda Wray as she provides the latest stories in the News.
