In Sepia, No One Can Hear You Scream Part 1. We pay tribute to the originals of horror that paved the way for everything that would come. These are the pioneers of peril, the old ones, but not forgotten. As is the case with months of importance, we will provide historical context that led to these films, what influenced THEM, and who they influenced later. Get ready to laugh and learn, folks!

We begin with a film that came after the other ones we will cover yet there’s a reason we chose it to be first. Conceived in love but born into chaos, The Phantom of the Opera (1925) and (1929) was released twice. A silent film about opera? Yeah, there’s some problems with this one. But it’s an important film more than a good one to which we owe a lot more gratitude than just the 1986 musical .
