Donna Murch speaks in this session recorded at Socialism 2023. This session will focus on racial capitalism and the Black working class in the late twentieth-century United States through today, with special attention to the 1980s. Historian Donna Murch will cover the importance of the public sector to Black workers, the consequences of intra-racial class stratification, and how the framing of the underclass hid the consequences of economic restructuring by blaming its victims.
