In this episode with Susan Davis from Florida, we focus on stress relief tactics for leaders. Susan, who has extensive experience working with the military, athletes, and entrepreneurs, shares scientific facts around stress as well as practical applications for leaders to reduce stress.
Tune in and learn a tool that can help you alleviate your stress instantly! Susan suggests figuring out where your main stressors lie and using a cognitive approach to eliminate your top three stressors. She also talks about most of our bodies being very acidic, which leads to disease and imbalance, and hydration being crucial. Recognizing simple changes can improve our biology, leading to better focus, communication, and enjoyment in our work. Susan highlights that magnesium is the first mineral to leave the body under stress and it’s responsible for many diseases, based on research by her mentor, Dr. Norman Shealy. She recommends daily Epsom salt baths for quick magnesium absorption and stress relief.

As an integrative Health & Performance Coach, Susan Davis has helped Olympic & Professional athletes, served as a health coach for The Way to My Heart 501c3, and worked with corporate executives and entrepreneurs internationally and across the U.S. She has an extensive leadership background focusing on the implementation and evaluation of programs designed for effective communication related to quality of life and recreation for the Department of Defense (DOD). Her focus in this area has been on strengthening communication skills by incorporating proven stress reduction strategies. Susan is the author of Creating Life Balance: Strategies to Thrive, co-author of War Time Coping Strategies and contributing author to Food for Thought: A P.A.D. Warrior’s Handbook for Healthier Eating. Susan has been a guest speaker for organizations such as Global Girls in Tech, speaker for Bethune-Cookman University and Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, as well as a backstage coach for Girl Starter, an Al Roker production. Her skill set places her above “normal” when it comes to helping others communicate effectively. Her experience comes from years of leading and teaching leadership in the United States Army. She has taught communication courses to Soldiers and their family members for decades.
