Many critics say that Jesus never claimed to be God, but in today’s passage, He does indeed make that claim. Jesus is equal to God and He is the Son of God. We know this to be true by observing the reaction of the Jewish leaders and Jesus’ disciples and by studying the meaning of the ancient Eastern language. In fact, it was this claim that led to Jesus being murdered.
