Our next guest played 321 games for the St Kilda Football Club, kicking 594 goals between 1986-2002, co-captained the 1997 Grand Final team, and for a period, held the VFL/AFL record for the most marks in the history of the game. Stewart Loewe is a Trevor Barker Medallist, 2x All Australian, EJ Whitten Medallist and was named at Half Forward in the St Kilda FC Team of the Century.
The man with the big hands - or 'Buckets' to his mates and fans - joined Unpluggered Podcast to talk about his career, the legacy of his great mate Danny Frawley, Tony 'Plugger' Lockett, Moorabbin, and the day he - to the surprise of everyone - actually nearly left the St Kilda Football Club. But, of course, he stayed, and the rest, as they say, is history.
Darren, Nick and Aaron are back before the mighty Saints' first Marsh Cup clash against Hawthorn at Moorabbin (RSEA Park), chatting all things St Kilda FC. Leadership group announcement, team selection, the AFLW results amidst some fantastic St Kilda women's performances, with some special Moorabbin Oval memories from each of the boys.
