Welcome to a meditation for the toughest of days. This is perfect for doing in the morning or
Steven Webb:during the day when you're just having a really bad day or you know the day is going to be
Steven Webb:really tough on you. So, just make yourself comfortable. Allow yourself to be comfortable in the position you're
Steven Webb:in.
Steven Webb:And just while you're settling down, I'm Steven Webb and I'm the host of Stillness in the Storms. And you

Steven Webb:Allow your body to become comfortable in whatever position that suits you.
Steven Webb:Become aware of your breath.
Steven Webb:Breathing in calm. Breathing out relax
Steven Webb:And just allow your breath to be what it is. You don't need to do anything with it.
Steven Webb:Your body knows how to breathe. Your body's been doing it without you getting involved for a long time.
Steven Webb:And when you just allow your shoulders and your arms to relax,
Steven Webb:notice that they know how to relax. You don't need to do anything for them. You don't have to forced
Steven Webb:to relaxing Just
Steven Webb:allow your body to relax into this moment. Your body knows how to see it here Perfectly peaceful.
Steven Webb:Breathing calm Breathing out relax
Steven Webb:And imagine a wave of relaxation starting from the top of your head, just going down over your whole body
Steven Webb:at
Steven Webb:whatever pace suits you. And
Steven Webb:if there's any pockets of tension, just allow them to disperse.
Steven Webb:And if your mind wanders, just bring about your breath.
Steven Webb:And we do this with kindness because the mind does wander. That's what it does. And that's okay.
Steven Webb:Just when we notice the mind wandering we Just smile and
Steven Webb:just sit here with me. Let's meditate with me.
Steven Webb:Remember there's no doing.
Steven Webb:There's no active force that you have to do anything with. It's just accepting and allowing this moment.
Steven Webb:And now imagine a warm, soothing light gently forming at the top of your head.
Steven Webb:And as this light forms, it starts to travel down over your body
Steven Webb:And it releases any pockets of tension as it goes down past
Steven Webb:past your forehead and your eyes, your cheeks.
Steven Webb:Allow it to flow down your neck, shoulders, arms and into your fingers.
Steven Webb:Notice if you're holding any pockets of tension. Just allow it just to disperse gently and melt away.
Steven Webb:And as this light continues down your chest and back
Steven Webb:and your stomach and your hips and your bum
Steven Webb:And you feel the weight of the burdens just lifting away.
Steven Webb:And it continues down your thighs, your knees, the
Steven Webb:backs of your bottom of your legs, your feet.
Steven Webb:And finally just grounding your whole body into the earth.
Steven Webb:Knowing you're safe and secure right now in this moment.
Steven Webb:And as you turn your attention back to your breath,
Steven Webb:Just appreciate the rhythm of your life.
Steven Webb:I'm breathing in. I'm breathing out.
Steven Webb:There's nothing you need to do with this moment.
Steven Webb:This moment is here perfectly for you to gather your thoughts. To
Steven Webb:gather your confidence and to prepare for the day.
Steven Webb:Notice the cool air going in and the warm air coming out.
Steven Webb:And every breath you take is a new testament to your resilience and your courage.
Steven Webb:And you're just breathing in resilience
Steven Webb:And breathing out courage.
Steven Webb:And we're going to do a few affirmations and this will help you to build the confidence and strength you
Steven Webb:need for today. And repeat these affirmations either silently in your mind or you can even say them out loud
Steven Webb:if you like.
Steven Webb:But the main thing is to feel them throughout your whole body. What it's like to for the affirmation to
Steven Webb:be completely true.
Steven Webb:And the first one is, I am stronger than my challenges.
Steven Webb:I am stronger than my challenges.
Steven Webb:With every breath, I draw strength and clarity
Steven Webb:With every breath I draw strength and clarity.
Steven Webb:No matter the circumstances, I have the wisdom to navigate.
Steven Webb:No matter the circumstances, I have the wisdom to navigate.
Steven Webb:I trust in my journey and the wisdom of my heart.
Steven Webb:I trust in my journey and in the wisdom of my heart.
Steven Webb:And now we're going to move on to a sense of achievement. And
Steven Webb:remember a time when you faced a really difficult situation.
Steven Webb:And you came out stronger
Steven Webb:the time when perhaps you didn't think you would get through the day and you managed it.
Steven Webb:And relive that moment. The moment when you felt really proud that you did it.
Steven Webb:The joy and the relief and the wisdom and courage that you got from it.
Steven Webb:What did that look like? How did that feel?
Steven Webb:When you're really feeling that in your heart centre, know that just as you overcame that, You
Steven Webb:have the strength to overcome today's challenges too.
Steven Webb:And now we're going to do a little gratitude practice and Shift your focus to your heart centre
Steven Webb:And imagine a radiant light glowing from within.
Steven Webb:And think of someone or something you're really truly grateful for.
Steven Webb:And notice the more you think of them or whatever it is you're thinking of. Notice the warmth and the
Steven Webb:joy it brings.
Steven Webb:And let this feeling start expanding throughout your whole body. Encompassing all that you are.
Steven Webb:And you'll know from this moment that even the toughest days, there's something to be grateful for. There are blessings.
Steven Webb:Some
Steven Webb:of them are seen. Some of them are unseen. Some of them are just felt. And
Steven Webb:if you let gratitude be your anchor, you can let your confidence be your courage and your wisdom
Steven Webb:be your teacher. All from within.
Steven Webb:And just spend a moment relaxing in this moment and appreciating your body and your mind and
Steven Webb:the time you've taken for this moment and time out to know that you've got this.
Steven Webb:And as you bring your attention back to your breath,
Steven Webb:slowly bring your awareness back to the room.
Steven Webb:Wiggle your fingers and your toes. And when you're ready, gently open your eyes
Steven Webb:And carry this piece of resilience with you as you face the day ahead of you. And remember... Deep
Steven Webb:within your heart, with
Steven Webb:your courage and your wisdom and your gratitude and your strength that you've always had,
Steven Webb:you've got this.
