EPISODE 21

Have you ever considered what it means to actually be a "good" teacher? Have you felt guilty when you set boundaries or put yourself first? If you are a teacher in America currently, let me guess...you promptly stated a "yes." Self-care and prioritizing yourself, changing this "good" teacher narrative isn't easy...but as today's guest will share with you - it's definitely worth it!

As a veteran educator of 11 years, I know how hard it is to stop letting what you think "good" teachers do stand in your way of sustaining your career doing what you love. We have these limiting beliefs that just seem impossible to get through. Some of us think of self-care as bath bombs or mani/pedis but it's so much deeper than that. Today's guest has been disrupting these ideas with her business and I can't wait for you to meet her.

Caitlin Peay Smith is a former teacher with over ten years of experience in North Carolina. She has a Master’s Degree in Curriculum & Instruction and another in Teaching English as a Second Language. She is the owner of How To Get Away With Teaching, LLC, a self care brand that disrupts society’s expectations of teachers and moms by prioritizing mental health and wellness. How To Get Away With Teaching also provides mental health resources, mood-boosting wellness goodies, speaking engagements, and a subscription box curated as a reminder for teachers to prioritize themselves.
