David:Here is the key to the show.
David:We don't know what we're doing.
David:I mean, we've proven that we have no idea what's gonna happen.
David:That's pretty obvious, and we don't care.
David:But for the next few minutes, I wanna talk Jesus with you.
David:So here we go.
David:Or asking questions about living life as a Christian, that thing right there.
David:Listen to this question.
David:With all the noise that's going on from the media and Hollywood, from the politicians and from academia and from influencers and the Internet and everything else, are we listening for this still, small voice of God?
David:That's the question.
David:Are we listening for the still, small voice of God?
David:With all the noise, remember what Jesus said to the winds?
David:Be quiet.
David:With all the noise, are we listening?
David:Are we sensitive?
David:Are we tuning in to hear the still, small voice of God?
David:That's the question.
David:If you have an opinion, a comment, a thought or a question, you want to answer that as well, don't hesitate, don't pull back.
David:Don't let those thoughts die of loneliness.
David:Just reach out and give us a call.
David: -: David:Talking to Jammin Jacob is like a peaceful day and evening with no drama.
David:Thank you, David.
David:Happy Friday.
David:Happy Friday to you, my friend.
David:I hope all is going well.
David:Got any plans for this weekend?
David:Anything going on?
David:Thinking about anything?
David:Gonna do anything?
David:Gonna, you know, think about something and do something like that.
David:Like, kind of like a word salad.
David:You're gonna kind of come up with something.
David:You're gonna do something and have something happen.
David:What?
David:Um, I'm not sure yet.
David:I'm still trying to process what all you said there.
David:My word salads have croutons.
David:Aha.
David:So you see, there you go.
David:We'll keep it that way.
David:Well, let me know if you think of anything that you want to do this weekend.
David:And then you can just pipe in anytime and say, hey, I did think of something, and then that'll just work out great.
David:Okay.
David:Okay, great.
David:We'll do.
David:We'll do fantastic.
David:All right, here's the bottom line.
David:The bottom line is you can call us.
David:Now, I know it's a telephone and it has been around for quite some time, even longer than most of you, which is hard to believe.
David: -: David:I think you should call.
David: -: David:I was just trying out a new accent.
David:Additionally, you can send an email.
David:David@hemustincrease.org comma dash d at a with a circle.
David:He must increase from John 330.
David:He must increase msdecrease.org because we're a nonprofit entity.
David:Why would you call us, text us, email us?
David:It's simple.
David:Maybe you want to share a testimony, something that has happened, a praise report.
David:I remember earlier in my christian wife that was a big part of almost all the church service.
David:And we went to Billy Bruce.
David:Larry and I went to all these different kind of churches and they always had testimony time.
David:Now that's not quite the same as it was back then, but it was always testimony time.
David:If there's an opportunity to testify, testify to the Lord, testify to what the Lord's doing in your life because it blesses people, it strengthens it in your own life, but it honors God, and that's the most important part.
David:The other thing is you can reach out to us if you've got a prayer request, because we believe one very important element.
David:Prayer changes life.
David:It brings life.
David:And when we connect with God and bring his power, his kingdom into the human situations, it's entirely different.
David:And that's what we're looking for.
David:So it doesn't matter what the prayer request is, doesn't matter if it's big or small.
David:It doesn't matter because God cares about you and I and engages with us, and so we pray and we seek him.
David:Maybe you got a scripture you want to share.
David:Awesome.
David:Do it.
David:Anything that's on your heart that the Lord has put there and you just want to share with others.
David:Yes, we're geared towards encouraging one another as we see the day of Jesus Christ and his return getting closer and closer.
David: Hebrews: David:And we want you to have that freedom.
David:And that's really, really important to have in your christian journey.
David:And if you're not getting it in other places, we offer it here.
David:Doesn't mean those other places are bad.
David:We're just giving you that opportunity here.
David:So let's keep it simple.
David:You can either call in text or email with a praise report, a prayer request, or something you want to share that's on your heart.
David:Our goal for this show is to encourage one another.
David:Why?
David:Take a look around.
David:People need encouragement.
David:There is nothing short of discouragement going all over the place.
David:Well, let's.
David:Let's fill the need for the people of God.
David:I do want to give a quick shout out to Eric.
David:Eric sent a beautiful picture.
David:I'll probably say this wrong, but that's right.
David:He sent a picture of the Aurora Morales that was coming from into Texas.
David:And it was just this magnificent picture.
David:He sent it to me via the phone.
David:And I just want to point this out to you as he was sent that picture, and I'm looking at it, and he had a scripture that went along with it and did a really, really nice job.
David:And I really do appreciate that.
David:It was just made me think, you know, there were so many things that are taking place all around us.
David:But listen to this.
David:We, the people of God, we need to recognize that God not only speaks to his word, but he's testifying in the heavens.
David:And one of the things he's saying in the heavens is look up instead of looking down or looking at your circumstance or looking at your situation, look up, because the Lord has help for you.
David:The Lord has blessings for you.
David:The Lord has redemption and grace and mercy and kindness and forgiveness and deliverance for you.
David:Look up, not down.
David:Get that.
David:That's what I got out of that picture.
David:I just loved it.
David:Okay.
David:We do have somebody on the line.
David:I'm not sure what it's about, so we'll send them on through and see what's going on.
David:Knock, knock.
David:This is David.
David:Who am I talking to?
David:David.
Doctor David Spoon:Good afternoon, Sergio.
David:Hello, Sergio.
David:How are you, my friend?
David:Good.
Doctor David Spoon:How are you?
David:I'm doing good.
David:I'm really doing good.
David:I've been.
David:I've been working out a lot, and so I'm pretty happy about that.
David:My body's not, but my mind is real happy about that.
Doctor David Spoon:Oh, keep it up.
Doctor David Spoon:That's.
Doctor David Spoon:That's probably the best thing that you can do right now.
David:Yeah.
David:Especially at my age.
David:If I keep moving, that's a good thing.
Doctor David Spoon:Yeah, that's the blueprint.
Doctor David Spoon:I can attest to that.
Doctor David Spoon:That's the blueprint in life.
Doctor David Spoon:David, I just wanted to give you an update on my thought process, what's going on right now with my journey.
Doctor David Spoon:Obviously, I've kept you up to speed as to where I'm at.
Doctor David Spoon:I mean, I'm still in numbers, so obviously I'm in the Old Testament.
Doctor David Spoon:I read the New Testament, the New Testament.
Doctor David Spoon:And this is a segue into, like, what you said about, you know, look up, keep praying.
Doctor David Spoon:Yesterday, I believe the caller's name was Fred, or two days ago, he said that we serve an awesome God in the Old Testament.
Doctor David Spoon:My observation is that I.
Doctor David Spoon:There's actually a conversation between God.
Doctor David Spoon:God literally talks, like, there's quotes of him talking to Moses and everyone else, especially in numbers.
Doctor David Spoon:And I just really wanted to share that with you because sometimes you think that you're alone.
Doctor David Spoon:We're alone here.
Doctor David Spoon:And I know that he doesn't talk back, but he talks back kind of like, spiritually.
Doctor David Spoon:But I wanted to get your thoughts on that.
Doctor David Spoon:Again, thank you for everything you do.
Doctor David Spoon:I guess it's good for you right now to be a Detroit fan.
David:Good luck tomorrow.
Doctor David Spoon:Good luck, good luck tomorrow night.
Doctor David Spoon:And may the best team on Sunday win on Sunday afternoon.
Doctor David Spoon:And have a great weekend.
Doctor David Spoon:David.
David:All right, my brother.
David:God bless you, brother.
David:Love you in the Lord.
David:Likewise.
David:So Sergio brings up something, and I want to.
David:I'm going to address it, and I didn't have any plans to talk about this, so everything we're going to do right now is just coming from my heart.
David:So I'll just do my best to communicate to you what I'm thinking.
David:But what Sergio is noticing, and I think it's really important, and it's one of the reasons why we want people to have their BFN in the book, which means their big fat nose.
David:One of the things that people do not seem to recognize is there is a mindset that God has spoken.
David:And in his speaking he said what he's going to say and there's nothing else he has to say.
David:Well, that is not biblical.
David:And in fact, in revelation, which we've been studying in the churches, in all of the seven churches that are mentioned, it specifically says, hear what the spirit says to the church.
David:Every one of those word says s a y s is perfect.
David:Present tense means that the Lord is still speaking.
David:And in fact, the Holy Spirit continually speaks, advancing the ministry of Jesus Christ and everything he had to say.
David:Now, where we falter is people will fail to use the word of God as the standard, because if there's something that's spoken and somebody hears and it's contrary to the word of God, it ain't God.
David:It's not complex.
David:Anytime somebody goes, well, the Lord told me, and it's contrary to scripture.
David:Wrong answer.
David:He's never going to say anything to anybody that's contrary to what he has to say or what he's written in his word.
David:But there's also this mindset that God doesn't speak that also is at way off.
David:There is not one person who has said yes to Jesus Christ that happens apart from the Holy Spirit.
David:Not once.
David:There is not one person that has said yes to Jesus Christ that is apart from God the Father.
David:There is not one person who has said yes to Jesus Christ that is apart from Jesus Christ.
David:God continually speaks.
David:Once God spoke.
David:Yea, twice have I heard.
David:And what we fail to recognize, and what I love that Sergio is picking up is God's conversations with people.
David:Hey, I got a message for you.
David:God talked to people, talks to people, and will talk to people.
David:That great Lily Tomlin skit in laughing back in the seventies, and everybody remembers it and she just goes, why is it that when we talk to God, it's prayer, but when he talks to us, it's schizophrenia?
David:See, there's a problem with that.
David:That's a problem.
David:That's a western mindset.
David:That's not really at all understanding that God continually speaks.
David:And in fact, it's funny because he mentions that.
David:And when we open up the show, I said, look, this picture that Eric sent is really this phenomenal looking picture.
David:It's just really, really cool.
David:And that is God speaking.
David:And sometimes people aren't going to like it, but it's too bad.
David:Sometimes God speaks to people.
David:I know somebody that was driving in a truck, I'm not going to tell you anything about it.
David:He's driving down the road, and he was about to go off a cliff because he fell asleep, and he heard an audible of his name, Harvey, as loud as could be.
David:He woke up at that second and he realized what was about to happen.
David:He was 5 seconds away from driving off a cliff.
David:He put the brakes on, turned the car.
David:He didn't go over.
David:Hey, guess what?
David:God spoke.
David:Why does that surprise anybody that God speaks.
David:In fact, what he's left us is what we call what the word of God, which of course, continually speaks.
David:Because why the word of God is alive?
David:It's not scrolls in the sense that they're dead sea scrolls.
David:The word of God is alive.
David:It's the same greek word that is used for the resurrection of Jesus Christ.
David:Jesus being alive.
David:The word of God is alive.
David:He continually speaks.
David:And you know what God does?
David:Talk to people.
David:No, he's never going to say anything that's contrary to his word, but he's spoken to plenty of people.
David:What do you think happens when some missionary goes, well, I was praying and the Lord said, go to this country.
David:You think that person made it up?
David:And they go to the minute, do a ministry and spend their entire life there doing that ministry.
David:That's not any different than God saying to Abraham, go where?
David:I'm going to show you.
David:And we think, oh, no, he doesn't do that.
David:Because why?
David:Well, because why?
David:Where does it say that God has stopped speaking to people?
David:It is true that when people are in rebellion as a nation, the Lord pulls back, there's no doubt about that.
David:But then the Lord always has grace and mercy and allows them to come forward.
David:But what we need to understand is God is consistently speaking.
David:Now, isn't that funny?
David:Because I'm just now catching this.
David:How I miss this.
David:Wow, I can't believe I missed this.
David:I'm listening to my own show.
David:What was the opening question?
David:What was the opening question of this show?
David:What was the first thing I said about the Aurora Morales, and what was the question from Sergio and lets everybody pick on that.
David:This is coming up from God for a reason.
David:The very first question I asked you in the beginning of this show is, are we listening for the still small voice of God, in the midst of all the noise, stop thinking.
David:God doesn't speak.
David:Of course he does.
David:Wait a minute, let me just say something.
David:A caveat.
David:Stop thinking.
David:God's giving you the lotto numbers.
David:What God speaks about is his kingdom, his love, his truth, his declaration for his glory.
David:He's never going to speak to you about you being glorified in the context of you are the most important.
David:That's absurd.
David:But what the Lord does say is what?
David:Come, follow me.
David:You know, people, when they go to these meetings, when Billy Graham would hold those meetings and he would do the altar call, do you know it's the Holy Spirit that's moving upon that person to move forward and to surrender their life to Jesus Christ?
David:And you're thinking, well, that's a response to the word.
David:Yes, but they're being moved upon by the living goddess and that's God speaking to them.
David:And he doesn't just speak about salvation.
David:People are thinking, well, no, I mean, you're going to tell me he's going to make promises to people.
David:He's God, of course he's going to make promises to people.
David:Of course he's going to make commitments to people.
David:Again, nothing ever contrary to the word.
David:But look at what it is that Sergio picked up on in the book, book of numbers, how God has conversations with people.
David:And you know what?
David:He will talk to you if you need to be talked to.
David:Do you know the scripture says that if you be otherwise minded, the Lord will reveal this even unto you.
David:If you're going in the wrong direction and you're truly seeking God, the Lord will show you.
David:And you think, well, how does stuff like that happen?
David:Here, I'll give you an illustration that happened to me.
David:I was going to use this in the teaching, but I'm just going to share it.
David:So when I was in that bad church, I was like, Lord, I just.
David:Lord, I need to know.
David:I need to have that confirmation.
David:I need to have that.
David:I need to have that thing that comes from you.
David:I'm not finding it in the word, so I need to get some kind of real specific direction.
David:I'm trying to be obedient to you, but I'm in a church where the pastor is so controlling.
David:He's so manipulative, he's so.
David:He puts people in and out of the church.
David:Everything goes by him.
David:What, Lord?
David:What?
David:How do I do this?
David:I need a green light from you, God.
David:I need a greenhouse light.
David:I must have prayed that for 20 minutes after praying that for years.
David:By the way, but I was really into it.
David:The Holy Spirit pops up in the room.
David:What?
David:Hey.
David:The Holy Spirit is universally present, but he also has a manifested presence.
David:Holy Spirit comes in the room.
David:I pick up a book that I bought that I had never read, Bernie Davis's book, how to activate miracles in your ministry.
David:I bought it because it was on sale, but I never read it.
David:Opened up the book to this page.
David:Here you go.
David:Here is your green light.
David:It's time to go.
David:You think that was God speaking?
David:You bet.
David:Of course it was.
David:Of course God speaks.
David:He speaks through circumstances.
David:He speaks.
David:Sometimes he speaks to you.
David:Watch this.
David:I'm just gonna freak you out.
David:He speaks to you through the silence of just being in his presence.
David:He just gives you his affirmation directly to you.
David:Sometimes he speaks to you directly through the word.
David:You don't put the Bible.
David:You're like, going, wow, that's exactly what I was wondering.
David:Sometimes he'll speak to you.
David:What did you read, job?
David:In dreams.
David:You think God speaks in dreams?
David:Of course he does.
David:Old and New Testament, multiple times.
David:God will speak to you in a dream.
David:You have to be mature enough to know what the difference is between that and Tabasco sauce dreams.
David:But listen to what the Lord is trying to tell all of us.
David:Not me, not you, all of us combined.
David:Hey, listen up.
David:I mean, I'm opening with, are we listening for the still, small voice of God?
David:The next thing we're going into is the Aurora Morales that Eric sends a picture on, saying, hey, we need to look up.
David:We need to see that God is still speaking.
David:And then Sergio calls and says, you know, I mean, I just see these conversations with God in the New Old Testament.
David:It's like, yeah, and you know what?
David:They still happen.
David:And if you're in a denomination where they don't happen, but God has spoke to you, just listen to God.
David:You're never gonna stand before the Lord and go, well, my denomination said this.
David:Congratulations for you and your denomination.
David:When the Lord's gonna say, what did you do with what I said?
David:This is the only thing that's gonna matter.
David:And I'm not bashing all denominations.
David:You guys know that.
David:In fact, I have multiple ordinations from multiple denominations.
David:I have my degrees from multiple denominations.
David:I love them.
David:I don't like when each one puts a restriction on the other, but the truth of the matter is that God speaks to people.
David:And I've sat in the room with people who have testified who've never heard the fullness of the gospel, somebody that was facing certain demise.
David:I'll just leave it there.
David:And that person the night before had a dream, and Jesus showed up to that person in a dream and said, I died for you.
David:Guess what?
David:That person became a Christian the next day.
David:Guess what?
David:That person's.
David:That person's demise was commuted that next day.
David:Tell me God doesn't speak.
David:That's absurd.
David:Have you talked to any missionaries ever?
David:I'll tell you what, next time you have a missionary come to your church or somebody that your church supports, if you've never had contact with them, write them a letter, write them an email, write them some kind of note and ask them how they have seen God speak to people.
David:And just in case anybody's wondering, in the chinese language, a person standing underneath a lamb is their symbol for righteousness.
David:God speaking in people's languages, let alone in the nature of things, let alone surrounding us.
David:And as you look at our country and you see all the confusion and the goofiness, christians should look up and recognize there is an order in this universe and there is a king who brings that order, and we need to listen to him.
David:What is it that Jesus said in the mount of transfiguration?
David:This is my son.
David:Listen to him.
David:He speaks still.
David:And the idea that God doesn't speak is absurd.
David:The idea that he speaks every 3 seconds is also absurd.
David:But he still speaks to people.
David:He still has conversations with people.
David:And you think, well, I don't know if that's true.
David:Not only is it biblically true, I can tell you it's personally true.
David:I've had God speak to me more than one word.
David:The first time he broke through my thoughts, he said, you cannot merit my love.
David:That's pretty intense conversation right there in this studio, right here where I'm sitting.
David:The Lord spoke to me and he said, I mean, you could not possibly miss it.
David:If you were in the room, you probably would have heard it with me.
David:He said to me, I am with you more than you are with me.
David:I've been living that since the moment I heard it.
David:Wanna know why?
David:Cause it's true.
David:He's with me more than I'm with him.
David:The Lord speaks to us.
David:He has conversations, he engages.
David:But you never find out if you don't listen.
David:You never find out if we're just so distracted by so many things.
David:You never find out that the Holy Spirit is supposed to guide you unless you're in fellowship with the Holy Spirit.
David:Just makes no sense.
David:So as we look at scripture and we know the declaration, we understand God speaks that's not the issue whether God speaks.
David:The issue is, are we listening?
David:Remember when God spoke, the people said what?
David:It thundered.
David:You see how that happens?
David:We interpret God speaking as all these other things except for God speaking.
David:Well, that doesn't seem like it's very brilliant.
David:In fact, let's be honest, that's stupid.
David:We should do a better job.
David:Now, again, he's never going to say anything contrary to his word, ever.
David:The word is the plumb line, period.
David:But he will speak if we will listen.
David:And he does speak.
David:And actually, ironically, he continually speaks.
David:We really just don't continually listen.
David:But what Sergio brings up is critical.
David:That conversation, that back and forth element, that is what consists of the relationship.
David:Yes, it is in prayer and it is in the word of God.
David:But yes, it is by the Holy Spirit, it is by circumstance, it is by the Lord speaking directly to you about something.
David:And it's up to you whether you figure out it thundered or you really believe God loves you enough to speak to you.
David:After all, he died for you.
David:I'm not sure why he wouldn't speak to you.
David:Get it?
David:Okay.
David:Yep, that was a nice little rant.
David:All right, we'll take our break and then come back.
David:You're listening to the David Spoon experience right here on Kam 770, the truth stationary in Texas.
David:Short break.
David:We'll be back.
David:Don't go anywhere.
David:David Spoon experience.
David:So we chatted about it on the phone, and it turned out that he had a pastor who used to be his pastor, reach out to him and say, the Lord put you on my heart.
David:You know, I want to know what's going on with your life.
David:He had another person say, hey, if you got this situation, let me know.
David:He was talking to me.
David:He was talking to somebody else.
David:And it was like he had like four sources of support and didn't even realize that what he was seeing was the circumstance, which we all do.
David:And when we pulled it back and looked at it, he's like, yeah, there's like four different places he was getting support from.
David:And it's like, that's amazing.
David:But see, that's not that amazing in the context of just what Peter and John said when they went into the temple.
David:Children, your men of Israel, why does this miracle surprise you?
David:Why does it even surprise us?
David:God does so many things to reach to us and to speak to us.
David:He is never, let me just say this, he is never absent from your tragedy.
David:He has never disappeared from your circumstance.
David:It's never happened long before.
David:You said, yes, God said yes to you.
David:Just think about the level of that, the commitment that would take.
David:That means that God looked at my life and in spite of my.
David:In spite of my insanities, said, yeah, we'll take him.
David:Is that amazing?
David:Think about how amazing that is.
David:And so I was.
David:Somebody had sent me a video about somebody who had an experience in heaven.
David:And I was like, well, you know, I like some of those, but some of those are kind of weird and squirrely and da da da da.
David:And then the Lord was reminding me about my own dream that I had about making it in heaven, where God had.
David:The king had his arm around me, and he showed me different things in my life.
David:Here's what you accepted, my son.
David:Let me tell you something.
David:God will reach you and touch you and speak to you.
David:The biggest question for all of us is, are we listening?
David:Do you remember what happened when the Lord spoke over Jesus?
David:The Father spoke from heaven over Jesus.
David:And the Bible says that the people thought that it thundered, but it didn't thunder.
David:God spoke.
David:See?
David:What?
David:See that right there?
David:That right there?
David:Because what we do is we think what thundered, but it's God speaking.
David:The biggest question is, are we listening?
