Yemi and Philia discuss the second week of the fast and this week's theme, Trusting God's Voice. The reading is from Acts 9:10-18. This story sheds light on what it looks like to trust God, even when you're fearful, doubtful, questioning. Saul had an encounter with Jesus on the road to Damascus which left him blind. He was instructed to go into town and wait. God also spoke to Ananias at the same time and instructed him to go to Saul. Because of Saul's activities immediately prior to his encounter with Jesus, persecuting followers of Jesus, both Saul and Ananias questioned God's direction. Saul was unsure of Jesus' followers taking him in and Ananias was unsure of going to meet a man that was persecuting his brethren. However, both did as was told and God prepared the way ahead of each of them. He orchestrated the meeting between the two for a bigger purpose and plan. We too need to follow's God voice no matter how uncertain the next steps are because when God gives you a word/direction/calling/purpose/idea he will see it through. He goes ahead of us to prepare the way, to set up an encounter than can change our lives and serve the bigger purpose and plan of the kingdom.
