Shownotes

Get ready, folks, because this Saturday, we’re diving deep into the world of cabinetry and home improvement myths that’ll knock your socks off—if you’re still wearing them, that is. So, what’s on the agenda? First up, we’re going to reveal the top ten commandments of cabinetry. Yes, you heard it right! Eric G is laying down the law like Moses with a chisel, and trust me, this is not your average DIY chit-chat. We’re talking about the do's and don’ts that could make or break your kitchen or bathroom project. If you think you can just slap some cabinets up and call it a day, think again! We’re here to steer you away from the pitfalls that even seasoned pros stumble into. Spoiler alert: it’s not just the big box brands you need to watch out for. Sometimes, the local custom cabinet shops can be a hot mess too! We’ll spill the tea on how to spot the warning signs before you dive into that Pinterest-worthy kitchen renovation.

And as if that wasn't enough to keep your attention, we’ll roll into the second hour where we’ll debunk the top ten home improvement myths that just won’t die! Seriously, it’s like they’re the zombies of the home improvement world. Whether it’s the ridiculous belief that tradespeople are out to rip you off or the “truth” about overpriced materials, we’ll dissect these myths with the precision of a surgeon and a side of sarcasm. Why? Because we know you’ve heard it all before, and we’re here to set the record straight with some actual numbers and facts that might just surprise you. Like, did you know the average pay for plumbers is around $53 an hour? That’s right, folks, they’re not rolling in gold coins—there’s a lot more to the story than meets the eye.

So, grab your headphones and prepare for a wild ride through cabinetry commandments and myth-busting madness. You won’t want to miss this one, unless you enjoy making costly mistakes in your home projects. And trust me, those mistakes are about as fun as stepping on a LEGO in the dark. We’ll see you this Saturday for two hours of pure, unfiltered home improvement gold!

The finish issues aren't from the brands you would think.

Speaker C:

It's not from the home center brands.

Speaker C:

It's not from these major national companies every single time.

Speaker C:

It's from a small local custom cabinet shop.

Speaker C:

Now there are some amazing high quality local custom cabin shop options out there.

Speaker C:

There are, but there are equally as many ones out there that haven't figured out and they have a hot mess going.

Speaker C:

Now the first warning sign that I would tell you to walk away from one of these custom cabin shops.

Speaker C:

And here's the thing guys.

Speaker B:

In the second hour of this weekend show, Eric G dishes out his top 10 home improvement myths that plague homeowners and contractors.

Speaker B:

What you might think is the truth could have been at some point or at least when Prince had his last number one hit.

Speaker C:

And then we were talking about that myth that plumbers and electricians and these tradespeople rip you off.

Speaker C:

So we were going down here through the math, breaking it down so you can help understand where this stuff comes from.

Speaker C:

And for instance, in my area, the average from what I did my research on, it's about 53 bucks an hour for what a plumber is paid on their paycheck.

Speaker C:

What's their base pay?

Speaker C:

So we were going through the base labor cost, the overhead cost and all of those things right there.

Speaker C:

So if you're combining the labor cost and overhead, all that and more on.
