CallumMy
friends,
meet
in
sober
dressTo
praise
the
dead,
as
manners
press;He
spoke
age
with
easy
grace,And
made
forever
commonplace.We
lived
seasons,
shore
to shore;Each
crossing
bought
few
months
more.He
dreamed
my
country
would
be
home,Where
vows
would end our need to roam.Speak gently now; the rite is
brief.The
living
seldom
merit
grief.The
man
survives.
Beneath
this
stoneThere
lie
years
called
our
own. This
was “Epitaph”
