Becoming the Big Me: The Great Conquest is a collection of empowering, motivating, and educational stories that will tug at your heart strings while empowering you to step into your own Big Me potential. From addiction, illness, lack of confidence, loss of loved ones, PTSD, and more the contributors of this book have walked through darkness and emerged victorious.
The Becoming the Big Me: The Great Conquest book has been brought to you by a collection of leaders paving the path of the future in their given fields. Within its pages you will find insight from Djemilah Birnie, Sharon Lechter, Nick Wingo, Dr. Frances Malone, Jenny Emerson, Russel Creed, Jennifer Aube, Valerie Fischer, Cory & JoJo Rankin, Peter Neilson, Kiki Rae, Tanya Milano-Snell, Dannah Macalinga-Pedrigal, and Kira Birnie.
This book was envisioned and brought together by Djemilah Birnie, the founder of Becoming the Big Me.
After overcoming many obstacles that could easily break a person, Djemilah has become passionate about helping others face their glass ceilings and break into the expansiveness of their potential.
Djemilah believes that we are all on a journey... There is never a point in which you have "Made It". Becoming the Big Me is about choosing to step into your greater potential each and every day. It is about learning and sometimes messing up but always getting back up.
This book has been compiled to showcase the journeys of overcoming. However, through this journey it becomes so much more. As each author told their story Djemilah noticed a common thread- something that made all of these amazing humans stand out even when faced with adversity.
Through the process of this book Djemilah discovered what she calls "the secret to overcoming obstacles and Becoming the Big Me." The greatest secret is the steps are simple and we have all heard them before.... the greatest secret is in the actual doing.

launch. So that's something that I definitely learned. Because now I'm playing catch up. Because I did not do that I literally set aside like two days to do the book launch. And that just simply was not enough, especially being the person that kind of spearheaded this project, being the organizer of the project, I definitely felt, you know, it necessary for me to continue to, to go hard, especially with the momentum and just wanting to catch that catch that ride, which is awesome. I just think it's such a good learning experience. And maybe if you're planning your book launch in the future, maybe that's something to take into consideration that when you do decide to do your book launch, just give yourself a little bit more time than you think that you need, just in case anything happens and you decide you want to create some more content or some more promotional stuff, or whatever the heck it is. Give yourself a little wiggle room. That's, that's something that I definitely learned in this process. And the other thing that I learned in this process is some of these larger lists, like Yeah, hitting the Amazon list is super awesome. But you guys know me, I'm, I, I got what's the next step? Okay, so we hit the Amazon international bestseller. What's the next step? We got to go to the next step now and, and this process made me realize that hitting some of those larger lists, like the Wall Street Journal is some of those other other book bestseller book lists is not as unobtainable as I thought this launch was really a last minute launch. I mean, we launched on day we weren't supposed to, we didn't do like a crazy amount of pre launch activities. We didn't do like, as much as we really could have. We did a lot. Yeah. And we did great. But as far as like our pre launch activities, like before the day and all of that stuff, there's so much more that we could have done and we didn't even run any press or media or any of that stuff yet. So there was like so many other things that we could have done that we did not do. And I'm glad that we didn't do them though, I am glad that we did not do them this time around because it showed me what we could do organically it showed you what you can do organically showed that's kind of one of the reasons is I really want to show you all that like hey, you don't have to spend a whole bunch of money and you can still make this thing happen and the efforts that we've done so far we've barely we've not really spent any money at all. I am going to be putting money into marketing the book because I want to but so far, we have not and I think that's really powerful to show what you can do with just the power of organic and and man I mean I was I was going hard some of you know because I messaged you I was messaging all of my friends if you were friends with me on Facebook, then you probably got a message from me or I my Facebook account got locked out before I got here name. But just like doing the action and personally reaching out to people is another way that we were able to do so well. But what I learned is that if I just put a little bit more organization together if I just put a little bit more planning and just do a couple things just a little bit better than I did. Hit in those lists is completely obtainable, completely obtainable? And that's super cool. Because that means it's obtainable for you too. Because I'm not like some crazy special person. I'm just a girl, you know, who's trying her best. And working hard every single day learning and growing, healing, messing up falling on her face. You know? If I can do it, then, I betcha I bet you that you can do it too. But it's just been such an eye opening process. I mean, it really has, it has just been such an eye opening process, this whole book experience, having people reach out to me that I never would have expected to reach out to me is also interesting. Yeah, just a learning process. If you ever want to, man and all my stuff is coming up, like all of my stuff, you know what I mean by stuff, like all my old stuff, my baggage, my traumas, it's already been coming up throughout the whole process of writing the book. But now that I did it, and now that it's out there, I'm going back into a lot of healing processes, I'm finding myself reflecting on a lot of things, and relationships, and friendships and a hell of the things, all the things, all the things, all the things,
Unknown Speaker:it's so much fun. I highly recommend it. I do actually, like, if you've ever even thought about writing a book, I highly recommend it purely just for the just for the self discovery aspect. And just for spending that time with yourself in your own brain. It's an interesting process, for sure. But anyways, I'm gonna I'm getting to a point where I'm just gonna start rambling on. And that's not what I wanted to do. I just want to express my gratitude and share with you that we were able to overcome an incredible fee, and also share with you that man, what we just did shows that this stuff is possible. It's possible for you it's possible for me as profitable, profitable fishermen. Sure, it's possible for all of the authors in the book. Yeah, it really is. I didn't even realize how obtainable some of my goals were, until I started taking steps to move forward. Okay, because I never would have had the realization that I totally can have a New York Times bestselling book in my lifetime, had I not done this book, I never would have had that realization that that was attainable for me had I not just taken some small steps, I, I've never even thought that being a bestselling author at all was obtainable for me until I was involved in a multi author book, and somebody put me in their book, and then their book hit on the bestseller charts. And I was like, Oh, my gosh, oh, my gosh, Ermahgerd, I can be a best selling author. And that's how it initially happened. And that gave me the confidence to start publishing my children's books, which were my first step towards publishing this book. Really, I mean, because the children's books, you know, they were smaller, didn't take as much time to write them. And I could play around with them a little bit more as I learned the publishing process. And I was able to even get Lunas balloon on the bestseller charts, which is crazy. Because that was the first one that I actually published by myself, which just goes to show you that you can do it too. You can do put your mind to it. Anyways, um, yeah. So that's what happens. That is, this is the process of becoming, this is what happens when you choose to step into your greater potential each and every day. This is literally the process of becoming unfolding before your very eyes. It never ends, it really does not end but if you never try, then you never learn and you never move forward. And, and I guess that's really where that ends. It ends when you stop trying and when you start moving one foot in front of the other, but as long as you can keep moving one foot in front of the other one day, you're going to turn around and go by Holy guacamole. How did I get here and how did I do all this cool stuff? Because I'm starting to get to that point right now where I have no idea how I done half of the things that I've done except for just small daily actions over time and now I've turned around on my Holy guacamole I have I have a pet selling book with my with someone I've looked up to for Hi decade like, life happens. And I'm here to share with you that if you want to be an author if you want to publish a book, if you've ever ever dreamed of having the title of Best Selling Author next to your name, I'm here to tell you that's totally totally possible
