In this episode of THE TALENT DEVELOPMENT HOT SEAT, Andy welcomes Shay Potter, a 20-year Army veteran who recently transitioned out after being an officer for more than 20 years. They will walk us through how onboarding has been done and what training looks like for different fields in the Army. They also share how the Army handled and responded to COVID by switching some of the training to remote and keeping some people on site while others were working remotely.
Shay Potter is a 20-year Army veteran who served in both Iraq and Afghanistan as a military intelligence specialist, design and change management planner, and has held multiple jobs developing the workforce and its leaders. They very recently transitioned out of the Army and are working on the next steps but enjoys coaching people and consulting with organizations to help them better understand how to attract and retain military veterans. Shay Potter also writes fiction and nonfiction books and is a contributing writer on career change topics for veterans.
