• Tiger Airways have been issued a Show Cause notice from CASA which is likely to lead to their grounding, with some analysts noting that the Australian market cannot support more than two airlines.
• Air New Zealand are planning to launch a low-cost carrier of their own, Fly Kiwi, flying from Auckland, Christchurch & Wellington to major cities on Australia's Eastern seaboard, although most consider it to have zero chance of getting off the ground.
