A throwback to the late 1970s, Shannon Gandy (William Shannon Gandy) made me giggle with anecdotes from the ASIJ teaching days. Shannon’s unforgettable stories about his childhood in Memphis, living and working in LA, family ties, and coming to Japan gave me insight into how the 8-year-old student at the ASIJ continued his journey, defining his character.
