David. Psalm 51:7, 8. Hi, it’s Nathan, and this is Day 28 of 30 Days of Prayer. David’s deep hope is not grounded in finding the right therapist or put together the right recovery program—though these steps can certainly be an integral part of our recovery process. David’s hope rests squarely on God’s capacity to work deep in the moral tissue of the heart. To bring healing at the source, not merely alter the exterior image. We, too, can seek this deep inner transformation as press into God’s presence. We can press for more than strength to bite our tongue—we can press God for hearts that won’t even want to spew those angry words. We can cling to God full of hope for inner transformation that will leave an indelible mark of beauty on every part of us.
