Shownotes

We are so excited to be joined by Brittany Cortinas from The University of Arizona SALT Center this week! The Strategic Alternative Learning Techniques (SALT) Center is an academic support program that provides services to University of Arizona students with learning and attention challenges.

Brittany is the Recruitment Coordinator for the SALT Center. She is a native of Tucson and an alum of the UA with a bachelor’s in creative writing. Brittany returns to UofA as the Recruiter for the College of Science. After realizing she had undiagnosed ADHD a couple of years ago, Brittany found the SALT Center while researching her attention difference and fell in love with the goal of the center!

We cover the following questions during this episode:

  • What are the SALT Center Services?
  • Do students need a formal diagnosis?
  • Are students at the SALT Center limited in what they can do at the University of Arizona due to SALT enrollment?
  • If a student is concerned about the program's cost, are the scholarships?
  • The ideal student for the SALT Center?
  • Can you tour the SALT Center?
  • Both the Disability Resource Center and the SALT Center provide services to students with learning and attention differences. What is the difference in the services provided?
