What does it look like to pat yourself on your back? Is it easier for you to pat someone else on the back? Let's be honest for a hot minute, being a mama is a role that can be quite demanding and exhausting. It’s easy to put everyone else’s needs before our own, leaving us drained and sometimes even feeling guilty for wanting just a little bit of "me time." But the truth is, self-care isn’t a luxury; it’s a necessity. Jill and Linda discuss the concept of pat on the back self-care and talk about themes such as:
- Why we deserve self-care
- Recharging your batteries. You’ll not be able to give your best to those who need you without some acknowledgement and acceptance.
- Integrating self-care into our lives by starting small. You don't have to overhaul your routine overnight. Begin by carving out small pockets of time dedicated to you, whether it's enjoying a cup of coffee in peace or reading a few pages of a great book.
- The importance of physical movement and activity.
- One of the biggest barriers to self-care is guilt. Pat addresses this by encouraging us to reframe our thinking.
Self-care is about more than just treating ourselves; it's about preserving our health and happiness. By making self-care a priority, we’re not only investing in our well-being but also setting a positive example for our children.
