Born to rebel parents and wired for rebellion. In spite of our determined effort to tell ourselves a different story—bad behavior isn’t just a possibility, it’s inevitable. We are born rebels, and until we’re willing to let God re-write our story, rebellion will find a way to drive us to wounding and hurting others. This recognition of deep brokenness and the need for God’s healing work, drives the tenor of David’s entire prayer. It also drives his hope of recovery.
