2020 has been a different sort of year. Work, school and the way families spend time together had to change. Yet some things remained the same – children just want to have fun and to be loved, and parents want their children to be happy, successful and grow up well.
How has 2020 changed your perspective of parenting, or has it not changed it at all? Join our host, Aaron Ng, as he chats with Elisa Ng, a mother of 3 young men, to share with us her priorities as a parent in this new year and lessons she wished she learned when she was a younger mum.
Elisa has been balancing work and home demands for close to 30 years. She started her career in Singapore's civil service, handling a gamut of HR matters and subsequently led a research team at the ministry headquarters. When flexi-work arrangements were no longer sufficient for the needs of her young children, she became a stay-at-home-mum, while gaining expertise as a Family Life educator and supporting children in the community in their language literacy.
Wanting a second career in supporting families, she joined Focus on the Family Singapore, which allows her to enjoy good work-life balance with its comprehensive work-life benefits. You can read more about her parenting journey on her personal blog Give Them Roots and Wings.
