Shownotes

In this episode Matthew is joined by a number of guests to explore the issue of ethical and sustainable supply-chains, modern slavery and the standard BS 25700 – organizational responses to modern slavery.

He speaks to Fred Waelter of BSI about the complexity and challenges of creating ethical and sustainable supply-chains.

He also speaks to BSIs' Ryan Lynch and Helen Carter of Action Sustainability about how organizations should engage their suppliers and contractors, sub-contractors to eradicate modern slavery, the positive role of technology and digitalization to address this issue, and about the relationship between government policies, legislation and standards.

He catches up with Dame Sara Thornton - the former Independent Anti-Slavery Commissioner in the UK - and asks her about why she believes BS 25700 is so important.

And Matthew is also joined by Professor Alex Trautrims of Nottingham University - Co-Chair of the committee that developed BS 25700 – for a quick-fire guide to the standard.
