Lime Paint for Furniture — Tricky, Expensive & Absolutely Beautiful

Lime paint can create depth, movement and an aged, almost stone-like finish that ordinary furniture paint simply can’t duplicate. It can also be expensive, tricky to apply and nearly impossible to spot-repair—which makes it a questionable choice for beginners or flippers who need to complete and sell furniture quickly.

In this episode, Val shares what she learned while using Pure & Original Fresco lime paint on a serving cart and an oak entertainment center. Both pieces still live in her home nearly nine years later. She also explains the differences between lime paint, limewash and lime plaster; when this specialty finish might make sense for a high-end furniture artist; and why our own homes deserve to display some of the art we create.
