Shownotes

Setup: Prepare for a tactile adventure. Today we explore your closet not with eyes, but with fingertips—discovering how darkness awakens our other senses and reveals the secret textures that surround us daily.

Engagement:

  1. Create Your Sensory Container:
  • Find your way to your closet
  • Turn out the lights completely
  • Cover your eyes with a sleep mask, beanie pulled low, or even a tied t-shirt
  • Take a moment to feel the shift as your hands become your primary sensing tools
  1. The Exploration:
  • Begin by running your fingertips across the edges of hanging clothes
  • Dip your hand into your sock bin—can you recognize items by touch alone?
  • Explore your tiny-clothes drawer (those items worn under big-clothes)
  • Notice textures that irritate or delight
  • Do you visualize each piece as you touch it? Anything you don’t recognize?
  1. Deepen the Practice:
  • Find the dangling sleeves of hanging clothes
  • Slip your hand through the wrist holes
  • Feel the inside textures of arms and seams
  • Pull out anything that calls to you (to wear! or to donate!)
  • Bring delightful textures to your jawline, bottom lip, or inside wrist

Integration: What surprised you about experiencing clothes through touch rather than sight? Which textures want to be worn more often? Which might be ready to release? This might be a great time to claim only the most pleasing textures to be near your skin!

Choose Your Exploration:

  • Option 1: Personal Closet Discovery
  • Map your own textile landscape
  • Notice what you're drawn to
  • Rediscover forgotten treasures
  • Donate the discards
  • Option 2: Intimate Exchange
  • With permission, explore the closet of an intimate
  • Notice different textures and sensibilities
  • Share discoveries afterward
