A T-square is two planets in opposition plus a third squaring both at once — the apex, caught in the blast radius from both sides. Today it's entirely mutable: Venus in Virgo opposes the moon in Pisces, while Mars in Gemini squares them both as apex. Virgo and Pisces are the oldest opposition in the zodiac — one sorting, one dissolving — but Virgo is Venus's fall while Pisces is her exaltation, meaning part of Venus is straining toward the very placement staring back at her. Virgo and Gemini share the same ruler, Mercury, currently trine the moon in Pisces — so underneath the visible argument, there's cooperation nobody scripted. Mars in Gemini gets squeezed from both directions, pulled toward finishing and toward dissolving while its own sign wants to keep everything open — showing up as short fuses, quick hands, or a clumsy accident with nowhere planned for the pressure to go. The way out is the empty leg of the cross: Sagittarius, opposite Mars, ruled by Jupiter (which also rules Pisces) — the one sign built to ask what this is actually in service of, gaining enough altitude that Virgo, Gemini, and Pisces stop needing to win. Know thyself. Balance your energy.
Takeaways
- Venus in Virgo (her fall) opposes the moon in Pisces (Venus's exaltation) while Mars in Gemini squares both as the apex — meaning Venus is partly straining toward the very placement opposing her.
- Mercury, ruling both Venus's sign (Virgo) and Mars's sign (Gemini), sits trine the moon in Pisces — real structural cooperation running underneath the visible three-way tension.
- The T-square's empty leg, Sagittarius, ruled by Jupiter (which also rules Pisces), is the release valve — the one sign that asks what the whole conflict is actually in service of, rather than picking a side.
