Shownotes

The focal point of this podcast episode is the exploration of the Fool card, which is the inaugural card of the tarot deck, designated as card zero. We delve into the significance of the Fool, characterized by its association with air energy and the planet Uranus, thereby embodying themes of spontaneity and new beginnings. The dialogue examines the inherent paradox of being the first to embark on a venture, likening it to the trepidation associated with early adopters of new products. We further juxtapose the Fool with the subsequent card, the Magician, revealing a fascinating connection between Uranian impulsiveness and Mercurial intellect. Our discussion ultimately underscores the intrinsic relationship between astrology and tarot, positing that one cannot exist meaningfully without the other. The discussion commences with an exploration of the Fool, which occupies the prominent position of card zero in the tarot deck. This card, steeped in air energy and associated with Uranus, serves as a metaphorical foundation for the philosophies underpinning the tarot. The speakers engage in a contemplative dialogue regarding the implications of being the first to embark upon an endeavor, likening it to the often cautionary advice of refraining from being the inaugural consumer of a newly released product. This analogy serves to illuminate the duality of the Fool's archetype: while it embodies the essence of new beginnings, spontaneity, and a carefree spirit, it simultaneously beckons the consideration of naivety and potential recklessness inherent in such unbridled enthusiasm. Through this discourse, the speakers aptly delineate the complexities of the Fool, evoking a deeper understanding of its significance within the tarot framework.

  1. The Fool, as the first card in the tarot deck, embodies the essence of new beginnings and spontaneity.

Speaker A:

So to begin with, the very first card in the tarot deck, card zero is the Fool.

Speaker A:

The fool is of air energy.

Speaker A:

It's also Uranus energy when it's connected to the planet Uranus.

Speaker A:

You know, the first thought that came out to me, Rafiki, when I, when I think about the very first car being the fool, is, is it kind of foolish to violent be the first one to volunteer to do something

Speaker B:

interesting, though?

Speaker B:

But why, but why that though?

Speaker A:

Well, I was just, you know, thinking the first deck, the first card in the deck, the name the fool.

Speaker A:

And, and, and just someone being.

Speaker A:

It's kind of like, you know, when a new product comes out and you want to be the first one.

Speaker A:

And you said don't never be the.

Speaker A:

Don't be the first one.

Speaker A:

You want to buy the second or third generation because they don't worked out the kinks.

Speaker B:

True, true.

Speaker B:

I can see that aspect coming from that.

Speaker A:

Okay, okay, think about this.

Speaker A:

If you are bringing it back to the food card, do you want to be the first one to try out?

Speaker A:

Do you want to be the first one to try to see if the bungee cord length is okay?

Speaker B:

Interesting.

Speaker B:

Very interesting.

Speaker B:

Because the reason why I say that's interesting because when you actually get into some of the key words to the full, you got.

Speaker B:

If it's upright, you got new beginnings, you got innocent, you got clear conscience.

Speaker B:

And it's also.

Speaker B:

I picked up a few other words.

Speaker B:

It's the wanderer.

Speaker B:

It's being spontaneous, it's taking a chance.

Speaker B:

Now, in reverse, some of the key words is being vanity, being naive, being taken advantage of, and also being reckless.

Speaker A:

The next thought that I had was what's the very next.

Speaker A:

What's the very next card after the Fool?

Speaker B:

It would be the magician.

Speaker A:

Correct.

Speaker A:

Right.

Speaker A:

And magician, me being Paul.

Speaker A:

This is.

Speaker A:

Paul the astrologer is of Mercury energy.

Speaker A:

Right.

Speaker A:

And.

Speaker A:

And Paul the astrologer knows that Uranus is the higher octave of Mercury.

Speaker A:

And I, and I found it interesting that the first card was the higher the Uranus, the Fool.

Speaker A:

And then the very next call was Mercury, the lesser octave of the Fool.

Speaker B:

I've never seen it that way.

Speaker A:

Hey, any thoughts on that?

Speaker A:

Any thoughts on that, Gordy?

Speaker C:

That makes me think of like, do first and think later, like with Uranus and Mercury.

Speaker A:

I like that.

Speaker C:

Yeah, because, because, you know, Uranus just wants to shock everyone.

Speaker C:

And then you got Mercury that just wants to make you think and make you communicate.

Speaker C:

So.

Speaker A:

All right, go ahead, Rafiki.

Speaker B:

But I never.

Speaker B:

I've always said this to a lot of people.

Speaker B:

You can't have one without the other.

Speaker B:

What do I mean by that?

Speaker B:

You cannot have astrology without tarot, and you cannot do tarot without astrology.

Speaker B:

They go hand in hand.

Speaker A:

Yeah, all right.
