Speaker:When the trio entered into the small plant nursery,
Speaker:Zachary was immediately drawn in by one plant in particular.
Speaker:His long feline tail stood tall as Zachary marveled at the
Speaker:African Violets that were in bloom.
Speaker:The different variety shades of purple captured the black panther's eyes,
Speaker:he knew they would make for an excellent addition to his small dorm room.
Speaker:Mai playfully nudged her hips against the tall black panther.
Speaker:"Already see something you like?
Speaker:They're super pretty!" Mai's
Speaker:jaguar tail swayed.
Speaker:"Saintpaulia ionantha,
Speaker:an east African specimen that makes for great houseplants,"
Speaker:Omar said. "You take care of houseplants too?"
Speaker:Zachary asked. "Not currently at the moment,
Speaker:but I used to help mother with her garden growing up.
Speaker:Is there any specific reason you're drawn to this species of plants?"
Speaker:"Whenever my father threw me out of the house for Spring break...
Speaker:my grandmother would let me stay over.
Speaker:She used to grow them all over the house and they always reminded me of her."
Speaker:Mai's eyes bulged, "Oh yeah, I remember!
Speaker:Didn't you use African Violets in a poem contest you wrote for your grandmother, freshman year?
Speaker:I remember reading it in the year book.”
Speaker:"Yeah, I did. I'm surprised you remembered that.
Speaker:We hadn't officially met when I made that poem,"
Speaker:Zachary responded.
Speaker:"I know but, it was very moving to me.
Speaker:I saw how much you poured your soul into it and what she meant to you.
Speaker:So… I wanted to get to know you after that.
Speaker:And I'm so glad I did,"
Speaker:Mai beamed. Zachary's ears were lit like candles with the sudden revelation,
Speaker:he didn't know exactly why Mai had approached him back in high school.
Speaker:If memory serves correctly from his past year books,
Speaker:he hadn't received high marks for that poem as it was featured in second place.
Speaker:But to hear that it sparked an interest in Mai was something he never expected.
Speaker:With that Zachary's mind was made clear
Speaker:and he gathered a few African violets that were immature
Speaker:but would bloom within a few days.
Speaker:And as promised, Mai purchased the potted plants
Speaker:and a small bag of fresh soil.
Speaker:When they left the small shop,
Speaker:Zachary felt his phone vibrate against his pocket.
Speaker:He saw that his boyfriend Mack had replied to his messages with several photos.
Speaker:A few of which showed the Russian Blue watering the plants exactly like Zachary instructed,
Speaker:and a selfie of himself with the dorm room tidied up.
Speaker:Zachary gave him his thanks in text and sent a heart emoji
Speaker:before he turned back to the two.
Speaker:The main concern to deal with now
Speaker:is where exactly to put
Speaker:all of his new found gifts.
Speaker:Omar suggested they could store them in his trunk
Speaker:and get some sushi at a nearby restaurant.
Speaker:It seemed like a fair compromise
Speaker:as sushi places also had a fine array of vegetarian dishes that could be prepared and served for Omar.
Speaker:They dropped Zachary's gifts off inside the trunk of Omar's lavished electric luxury sedan
Speaker:before they made the walk towards the sushi establishment.
Speaker:After their lunch,
Speaker:Zachary picked up some take-out meals to give to Mack
Speaker:as the trio headed back to Omar's electric sedan. Mai and Omar also insisted they help him carry the gifts to his dorm room once they reached the destination.
Speaker:Zachary obliged and sat in the back of the sedan.
Speaker:He allowed Mai to sit up with her boyfriend
Speaker:as Omar situated himself in his car.
Speaker:The black panther simply dozed off as the car sat in stop and go traffic
Speaker:while they made their way out of the downtown area.
Speaker:Zachary took mental notes about what they had planned to do for the rest of the day.
Speaker:He didn’t want to breach the topic of sex with them just yet.
Speaker:He knew it would be a new experience for everyone.
Speaker:Omar was never intimate with another man
Speaker:and Mai hadn’t ever slept with him.
Speaker:Still, he figured it was best to let them be the ones to approach.
Speaker:Whether or not that did have a session together was secondary to Zachary.
Speaker:His primary concern
Speaker:was to keep the two entertained and comfortable for the night.
Speaker:While his dorm room was a little cozy for a large feline his size,
Speaker:he could still fit three people comfortably.
Speaker:And there was little concern for possible noise,
Speaker:his room was at the end of the hallway which made it easier to house guests.
Speaker:The only potential problem that could arise
Speaker:is if the couple stayed in his dorm room for an extra day
Speaker:as that might cause conflict with the faculty that dismayed students from hosting guests for more than one night.
Speaker:Still, it seemed highly unlikely that would ever occur.
Speaker:The sun was about to set by the time the trio reached Zachary’s university.
Speaker:The black panther sent Mack a text to let him know they would all come up in a few minutes,
Speaker:giving the feline some time to prep just like he promised.
Speaker:All three took a role
Speaker:and helped Zachary carry his gifts up to his dorm room.
Speaker:Once they reached the end of the hallway,
Speaker:Zachary knocked and slowly entered.
Speaker:He saw Mack softly sit up from the futon
Speaker:and turned to see Zachary walked in first.
Speaker:When Omar and Mai came into view,
Speaker:the Russian Blue tailed perked up.
Speaker:Mack gave them a warm wave before he went over to hug Zachary.
Speaker:“Sorry for making you stay in here all day!
Speaker:Thanks for keeping an eye on the place,”
Speaker:Zachary said, his arms slightly folded around the small feline
Speaker:while he held onto the shopping bags.
Speaker:“It was no trouble!
Speaker:Also, nice to meet you guys!
Speaker:I’m Mack Zolotov!" He said.
Speaker:Zachary decided to put all the gifts away
Speaker:and allowed the trio to make small talk.
Speaker:His feline ears still eavesdropped on the conversation
Speaker:as the black panther checked the rest of his plants. Omar reached out
Speaker:and shook Mack’s hand,
Speaker:“Pleasure to meet you. I’m Omar Bashar and this is my partner Mai Santos.”
Speaker:Mack shook both of their hands
Speaker:before he looked back to Omar,
Speaker:“Are you studying abroad too?”
Speaker:Omar chuckled, “That isn’t the case, but I take it you are?
Speaker:How have you been settling?”
Speaker:“Doing much better lately!
Speaker:Z has helped me throughout my stay here in the states and I couldn’t be happier!
Speaker:It’s nice to know that he has other fine friends!”
Speaker:Mack said. Mai giggles,
Speaker:“It’s good to hear you two are doing well!
Speaker:Are you also his roommate?"
Speaker:"Sadly no, my parents back home can only afford me a one-bedroom dorm.
Speaker:And… for all intents and purposes my parents are unaware of the extent of my relationship with him,"
Speaker:Mack rubbed his arm.
Speaker:Mai's face softened,
Speaker:"Oh I'm so sorry to hear,
Speaker:I can't imagine how difficult it must be to
Speaker:keep that a secret."
Speaker:"It can be sometimes, yes.
Speaker:But… even with the risks I still wanted a relationship with him.
Speaker:I figure since I'll be moving back to my home country when I finish university
Speaker:that he could look into dating other people.
Speaker:I trust that you two will take good care of Z and look out for his best interest?"
Speaker:Mack looked up. Omar softly reached over to rub Mack's shoulder,
Speaker:"Of course, we'll do all we can to take good care of him.
Speaker:You have our word."
Speaker:Mai nodded, "You know,
Speaker:you're more than welcome to stay here tonight if you want?
Speaker:I wouldn't mind getting to know you more!" Mack purred from Omar's shoulder rub and Mai's compliment before he spoke,
Speaker:"Sadly, I'll have to decline for tonight.
Speaker:I have a few errands I need to run before everything closes for today.
Speaker:Plus, the faculty here don't like it when I stay over at Z's place for more than a day.
Speaker:I can still give you two my number if you wish?"
Speaker:Mai and Omar nodded
Speaker:as the trio exchanged each other's social media and phone numbers.
Speaker:Zachary could hear his phone ping,
Speaker:which informed him that Mack was invited into their group chat.
Speaker:Before his departure,
Speaker:Mack hopped over to give the large black panther another firm hug
Speaker:and leaned up to kiss him.
Speaker:Zachary returned the small kiss
Speaker:and the three watched Mack close the door behind him.
Speaker:Everyone else had begun to settle inside the cozy dorm room
Speaker:“He is just the most adorable cutie I've ever met!
Speaker:I can see why you two are together!
Speaker:How did the two of you meet?”
Speaker:Mai asked. Zachary’s muzzle flushed,
Speaker:“We got paired up in orientation because of our last names
Speaker:and I helped him navigate the university.
Speaker:After a while, we started to hang out for a few months and
Speaker:he later confessed his love for me.
Speaker:I also caught feelings for him too.
Speaker:But he was upset after admitting it because…
Speaker:well like you both heard,
Speaker:he'll be moving back home once he’s finished with his studies.
Speaker:I'm gonna really miss him when the time comes…"
Speaker:Zachary felt Mai gently hug him from behind,
Speaker:"I can't imagine how hard it must've been on the both of you."
Speaker:Omar walked up beside the black panther,
Speaker:"Still, I’m sure Mack deeply appreciates your company and enjoys the intimate relationship you have with him.
Speaker:Was he hesitant about the prospects of you seeing other people?"
Speaker:"Not at all, in fact he encouraged me to see other people that could live in the states with me.
Speaker:And it was before your guys offered an open relationship.
Speaker:Though admittedly,
Speaker:he was a bit worried if my long-distance relationship with the both of you would have lasted until now,"
Speaker:Zachary said as he turned around to return the hug to Mai.
Speaker:"Understandable,
Speaker:well I look forward to seeing him again.
Speaker:I'll make sure that Mai and I will visit you and Mack more often before your guys graduate.
Speaker:We love to invite your boyfriend over to our get together,"
Speaker:Omar replied. “I'm sure he would love that,"
Speaker:Zachary smiled. The black panther's train of thought
Speaker:drifted off as Omar suddenly let out a heavy sneeze.
Speaker:He blocked it with his arm and sniffled a bit.
Speaker:The large feline sniffed the air and noticed that the room was a bit stuffy with pollen.
Speaker:Normally, he would’ve had the room aired out during the day as the plants were kept in the sunlight.
Speaker:Though he just noticed the windows were closed,
Speaker:which trapped the excess pollen inside.
Speaker:Zachary gently released the hug from Mai and went under his bed,
Speaker:he tossed a few bottles of allergy medicine over to Omar.
Speaker:“Apologies, I forgot to open a window before I left.
Speaker:Take some of these, they’ll clear up your allergies,”
Speaker:Zachary said. Omar nodded as he took a few
Speaker:while Zachary gave him a bottle of water.
Speaker:The antelope let out a heavy sigh and looked over to him.
Speaker:“Thanks, you’ve seemed to have prepared for everything.
Speaker:Does this happen often when you have Mack here?”
Speaker:Omar smiled. “Yeah, sometimes.
Speaker:Though feel free to get comfortable and let me know if you two need anything,”
Speaker:Zachary stammered.
Speaker:“Oh! Is it alright if Mai and I strip down a bit?”
Speaker:Omar asked. “Yeah… sure…”
Speaker:Zachary said with a shaky voice.
Speaker:Mai giggled and approached him,
Speaker:“Aw, a bit nervous?
Speaker:We can stay clothed if you want?”

Speaker:still new to this myself,”
Speaker:Zachary ears folded.
Speaker:“Well, we can take it slow, Zachary.

Speaker:Zachary looked over and watched as Omar had already loosened his dress shirt

Speaker:When Omar slid off his dress shirt,
