Speaker:

Welcome to the end, just like that sex and the city fans podcast.

Speaker:

I created this podcast for sex and the city fans.

Speaker:

And just like you who love Carrie Bradshaw and are super excited to binge out on this

Speaker:

new HBO max series and just like this.

Speaker:

Let's watch the new chapter of sex in the city and just like that.

Speaker:

And talk about fashion, love, relationships, and life in New York city.

Speaker:

Hi, I am dimple.

Speaker:

Dang.

Speaker:

I am your host.

Speaker:

I'm a marketing expert, a podcast coach, and a podcaster.

Speaker:

And let's get this party started.

Speaker:

For all my sex and Sydney fans out there where you as excited for episode,

Speaker:

one of, and just like that, the new sex in the city revival series on

Speaker:

HBO, max, I was super excited and I decided I wanted to do a podcast

Speaker:

on this because this is a fun topic.

Speaker:

And I do have other shows, but this is just something fun.

Speaker:

And I really am such a big sex in the city fan.

Speaker:

And I love Carrie Bradshaw and I mean, who doesn't, she's absolutely fabulous.

Speaker:

So we're going to talk about what happened on episode one,

Speaker:

for those of you that missed it.

Speaker:

And for those of you that actually did watch it, we're going to analyze some

Speaker:

parts of what happened on, episode one.

Speaker:

And I would love to hear your opinion.

Speaker:

So in the opening, of course, it starts off there at a fabulous upscale

Speaker:

Manhattan restaurant that's happening.

Speaker:

And of course, Carrie Bradshaw looks amazing and she's got this beautiful

Speaker:

hat on with this pink feathers, hanging out a bit and looks fabulous as usual.

Speaker:

And you see her with Charlotte and you see Miranda.

Speaker:

But there's somebody missing from the four musketeer crew.

Speaker:

There's no Samantha and where's Samantha.

Speaker:

So in the restaurant across the hall, there is bitsy McMuffin

Speaker:

and bitsy McMuffin yells.

Speaker:

Oh my God.

Speaker:

Is that you?

Speaker:

And then she comes over to the group and she says, oh, where's Samantha.

Speaker:

And Charlotte says she's no longer with us.

Speaker:

And the look on Betsy's face was like, oh my God, like, is she gone?

Speaker:

So luckily Miranda clarified that because on Charlotte's part, the way

Speaker:

that she said it, it did not come out.

Speaker:

Right.

Speaker:

I think anyone would have thought the same thing, like, oh, Miranda,

Speaker:

like no longer here, here she's gone.

Speaker:

Samantha no longer here?

Speaker:

Like, so what really happened to her?

Speaker:

So according to Carrie, Carrie said that after Carrie fired her as

Speaker:

her publicist, basically Samantha fired her as her friend and Eva.

Speaker:

Carrie tried to make things right.

Speaker:

You tried to call her several times and, and connect with her.

Speaker:

And even the other girls Miranda and Charlotte trained to reach out to Samantha

Speaker:

as well, but she didn't respond and they suggested that Carrie should reach

Speaker:

out and maybe she'll respond, which Carrie did, but she did not respond.

Speaker:

So the story is that Samantha moved to London.

Speaker:

So now the end, just like that series will not have Samantha.

Speaker:

So we're going to miss all the sexcapades and all of the interesting

Speaker:

men that she dates that are 20 years younger than her, but who knows, maybe

Speaker:

she'll change her mind and make a special appearance on season two now.

Speaker:

But the interesting thing is that, Carrie said that she thought that the

Speaker:

four of them would be friends forever.

Speaker:

And the interesting thing about friendship is you just don't know because

Speaker:

sometimes people get offended so easily or they take things the wrong way.

Speaker:

They take things that the way that they want to take them, the way

Speaker:

that they are thinking about it.

Speaker:

And I was going to ask you guys, have you ever had a friend and you thought they

Speaker:

were a really good friend, but maybe.

Speaker:

You viewed them that way, but did they be you the same way?

Speaker:

And some friendships are just not meant to be forever.

Speaker:

And I think the older that we get, we have to realize that and we have

Speaker:

to let go of certain people because they don't align with who we are.

Speaker:

And, and maybe, you know, in this.

Speaker:

Samantha and Carrie were not in alignment anymore, and that's why they're not

Speaker:

friends, but I have to say, I did love Samantha and I'm going to miss her

Speaker:

because she was very entertaining.

Speaker:

So we'll have to see how the season is going to be entertaining without her.

Speaker:

but you know, I think that they're still quite hilarious.

Speaker:

So to give you guys an update on the rest of the cruise, so obviously.

Speaker:

Carrie's married to Mr.

Speaker:

Big.

Speaker:

And actually I was pleasantly surprised to see that she's still with them

Speaker:

because we all know how much of a commitment phobic he was in, the movie

Speaker:

where he didn't show up to the alter.

Speaker:

That was like that moment where.

Speaker:

I watched it and I was crying.

Speaker:

I don't know if you guys were crying, but that moment it was just so sad and

Speaker:

I felt so bad for her, but I was so happy to see that Carrie is with Mr.

Speaker:

Big, because for some reason I always wanted them to be

Speaker:

together and I waited so long.

Speaker:

For them to meet together and then they are together.

Speaker:

But you guys what happened in episode?

Speaker:

One was nothing that I think any of us expected.

Speaker:

So just like that Mr.

Speaker:

Big was gone.

Speaker:

All right.

Speaker:

So

Speaker:

let's talk about what really happened.

Speaker:

So Charlotte's daughter Lily, was having a.

Speaker:

Piano recital.

Speaker:

And it was at the Manhattan school of music.

Speaker:

And, she really wanted Carrie to be there and Carrie's like, well, I'll

Speaker:

have to go to the Hamptons with Mr.

Speaker:

Big.

Speaker:

I don't know if I can make it.

Speaker:

And she asked Mr.

Speaker:

Vega, they could change their plans.

Speaker:

And he said, okay.

Speaker:

So she left Mr.

Speaker:

Big and Mr.

Speaker:

Big was at home and she went to the recital and.

Speaker:

While she was at the recital, Mr.

Speaker:

Big was on his Peloton.

Speaker:

And we all know from before that Mr.

Speaker:

Big had some issues with his heart.

Speaker:

He was in the hospital in previous episodes of sex in the city.

Speaker:

And he's going really hard on this Peloton.

Speaker:

He's just like going and going.

Speaker:

And maybe it's the sexy instructor that, keeps them like, Hey, let's go.

Speaker:

He overdid it, or I don't know what happened, but I mean, he obviously

Speaker:

had issues, but it was just so sad to see that while they're at

Speaker:

the recital and Lily's playing the piano and she is just absolutely

Speaker:

amazing that at the same time mr.

Speaker:

Beck gets off the Peloton.

Speaker:

He walks to the shower and before he walks into the shower, he sends a text

Speaker:

to Carrie and then his phone falls in the shower and he is clenching his

Speaker:

heart and he falls to the ground and I'm like, oh no, because I heard rumors.

Speaker:

You guys, I heard rumors, Mr.

Speaker:

Beg may die on the series.

Speaker:

Did they really have to do it in episode one?

Speaker:

I mean, I really wanted to see them together.

Speaker:

Like that love story.

Speaker:

Right.

Speaker:

I wanted to see them spend time.

Speaker:

They're like my favorite couple.

Speaker:

So I was a little disappointed.

Speaker:

I thought you guys were too, just like that, like Mr.

Speaker:

Big was gone.

Speaker:

And I'm like, no.

Speaker:

And , then Carrie comes into the apartment.

Speaker:

She calls for him.

Speaker:

She can't find him.

Speaker:

Um, finally she seized him on the ground and I don't understand this.

Speaker:

I don't understand why she didn't go run and grab her phone.

Speaker:

So like, why didn't she just call 9 1 1?

Speaker:

And she literally went and she held him and she was sobbing and she was, the

Speaker:

emotional, but she didn't call 9 1 1.

Speaker:

And I'm thinking, why didn't she call 9 1 1?

Speaker:

And I think that's the question that everyone else is thinking about too,

Speaker:

because she could have grabbed her phone, ran back to him still then

Speaker:

with him and still called 9 1 1.

Speaker:

Right.

Speaker:

But that's going to be the big mystery, but if you guys have any thoughts on

Speaker:

that, I mean, we putting the Facebook groups and pages here and you guys

Speaker:

can share your thoughts on that.

Speaker:

And you guys can also, make sure that you subscribe to my podcast because you're not

Speaker:

going to want to miss out on any episodes.

Speaker:

And if you do know other sex in the city fans that you know,

Speaker:

your thought or your friends.

Speaker:

You know, are going to love watching this or listening to it or they missed it.

Speaker:

Make sure that you tell them about my show because they're going to love it.

Speaker:

All right.

Speaker:

So let's, let's go on.

Speaker:

So what else happened?

Speaker:

on episode one?

Speaker:

Well, the other interesting thing that I noticed is that Miranda.

Speaker:

Went to a bar at like 10:45 AM in the morning, and she's

Speaker:

trying to order a drink.

Speaker:

And it's like, isn't that a little early?

Speaker:

Maybe not, maybe not in New York city, but I didn't see her

Speaker:

do that in previous episode.

Speaker:

So, Miranda, she leaves big law and she's kind of like, dedicating her life to like,

Speaker:

you know, the kids and things like that.

Speaker:

But.

Speaker:

And she just, she's just a little strange in this one, you

Speaker:

know, like she goes to this.

Speaker:

class and she walks in and she tries to sit down somewhere.

Speaker:

And the guy's like, oh, I'm sorry, this is where the professor is going to sit.

Speaker:

And she's like, oh, okay.

Speaker:

No worries.

Speaker:

So she goes and sit somewhere else.

Speaker:

So another female comes in a female of color with long, beautiful brains.

Speaker:

And it's interesting.

Speaker:

So she automatically assumes, well, she can't be the professor.

Speaker:

So she says to her.

Speaker:

Oh, that seed is for the professor.

Speaker:

And so she's like, I am the professor and I just thought that was funny.

Speaker:

Cause I'm like, what are you doing?

Speaker:

Like, I mean, Miranda, like, what are you doing?

Speaker:

And then she kept talking and the more she talked, the more she

Speaker:

dug herself deeper into a hole.

Speaker:

And it, it came across as she has issues with like race or something.

Speaker:

And I don't know, but I'm sure if you guys see it, you'll you'll

Speaker:

know what I'm talking about.

Speaker:

And then it's funny, she runs into.

Speaker:

Her professor has a train station and she's just like trying to redeem herself.

Speaker:

And the professor's like on the phone with her boyfriend and

Speaker:

she's like, oh my God, she's here.

Speaker:

I have to go.

Speaker:

I cannot I can't talk to you right now.

Speaker:

And so just as Miranda steps up to her to have a conversation, There's like

Speaker:

a band in the, in the subway station.

Speaker:

And he started playing really loud and Miranda is still continuing to

Speaker:

talk over the band, thinking that she can have this conversation when

Speaker:

the professor actually heard nothing.

Speaker:

And that was just like, what is she doing?

Speaker:

We don't know.

Speaker:

Okay.

Speaker:

So let's talk about.

Speaker:

Charlotte Charlotte, of course is Charlotte.

Speaker:

So nothing's changed there and she's got, you know, the kids and

Speaker:

she's like, of course they have to grow up to be accomplished and

Speaker:

they have to do piano and they have to wear Oscar de LA Renta dresses

Speaker:

so Lily was good with the outfit that, Charlotte picked

Speaker:

out, but rose hated the dress.

Speaker:

And she's like, why do I have to wear this dress?

Speaker:

So she's still trying to dress the kids.

Speaker:

And you know, they're a little bit older now.

Speaker:

They should be able to pick out their own clothes.

Speaker:

But I think for her, she needs a hobby.

Speaker:

She needs a project.

Speaker:

She needs somebody to work on and she needs something to do.

Speaker:

And she needs to be like the good little life and the homemaker

Speaker:

and, that's just, Charlotte,

Speaker:

and by the way.

Speaker:

Okay.

Speaker:

So I'm going to rewind a little bit.

Speaker:

Let's talk about.

Speaker:

Carrie is on a podcast.

Speaker:

So that is really cool to me because I love podcasting.

Speaker:

This is not my only show.

Speaker:

I've got a couple of other shows one's called mesmerizing marketing and the other

Speaker:

one is called podcasts, launch strategies.

Speaker:

So you guys can check them out.

Speaker:

But what's interesting is that, you know, Carrie's got this

Speaker:

podcast, but she's not totally.

Speaker:

Comfortable with the questions that she's getting asked on there.

Speaker:

And what's interesting.

Speaker:

So before she's like, oh, I used to, you know, do Instagram just

Speaker:

for fun, but now I'm on a podcast.

Speaker:

Well, yeah, so now it's like, Hmm, it's getting real and you are not

Speaker:

just doing it for fun, but it's like, you've got a podcast boss, as she said.

Speaker:

And what's interesting is Carrie also described the podcast.

Speaker:

By saying, oh, I have to go do a podcast.

Speaker:

It's just like jury duty now.

Speaker:

So, that's interesting because I don't know if she's enjoying it

Speaker:

at this point, but throughout the season, she's going to get much

Speaker:

better at it from what I can tell.

Speaker:

So that is interesting, but.

Speaker:

On the podcast, they asked her about, some sexual topics of

Speaker:

what she does and doesn't do.

Speaker:

And she really was not comfortable talking about it in detail.

Speaker:

And in future episodes, you will see her get called out.

Speaker:

And they're going to say, Hey, you need to get your social media numbers up and

Speaker:

he needs to be promoting this podcast.

Speaker:

So if you're a podcast and you're listening to this or a future podcast,

Speaker:

or just know a podcast show does not grow itself, you do have to promote it and

Speaker:

you have to promote it on social media.

Speaker:

You have to promote it on Instagram and, you know, You'll

Speaker:

see, like, after she lost Mr.

Speaker:

Vague, I mean, of course, like she's not really in a position to focus on

Speaker:

that and that is not the priority.

Speaker:

So what else happened?

Speaker:

Well, the closet let's talk about the closet.

Speaker:

So Carrie's closet still amazing.

Speaker:

Of course.

Speaker:

And she still calls her shoe collection.

Speaker:

Hello lovers.

Speaker:

And so what's interesting is she picked out the shoe.

Speaker:

that she wore, when she married Mr.

Speaker:

Big and they were the Royal blue with gemstones, gorgeous Manolo Blahniks

Speaker:

so what's interesting in this episode too, with Miranda,

Speaker:

Miranda, used to be a redhead.

Speaker:

If you guys remember, and now, she's a blonde, although in the show, she's

Speaker:

saying that, oh, I have gray hair.

Speaker:

I'm Rocky, my gray hair.

Speaker:

It really looks blondish to me.

Speaker:

so she's got a new look and she's also seems to have a new perspective in life.

Speaker:

And that perspective is a little bit like, Hmm.

Speaker:

Why is she trying to two drinks during the daytime all the time?

Speaker:

So I think there might be a little bit of underlying issues where

Speaker:

she's not happy in her life.

Speaker:

And she's trying to cover that up with alcohol.

Speaker:

And that's what that seems like to me.

Speaker:

And then we've got.

Speaker:

Um, a new character on the show, Lisa.

Speaker:

So we'll see what happens with her.

Speaker:

It'll be interesting to see

Speaker:

all right.

Speaker:

And then in the next episode, we're going to talk about how Carrie really

Speaker:

is dealing with the loss of Mr.

Speaker:

Big, but more so how is Charlotte dealing with the loss of Mr bank?

Speaker:

So make sure you tune into episode two, because it is going to be

Speaker:

a quite interesting one as well.

Speaker:

And I hope you guys enjoyed this and make sure you check out the

Speaker:

show notes to join my communities that I'm creating and Facebook

Speaker:

pages for the show and the podcast.

Speaker:

they may be updated, If you don't see them right away, just check back.

Speaker:

Um, cause they might be updated in a day or so, but make sure if I

Speaker:

have any communities, and you guys want to be involved in sharing your

Speaker:

thoughts on the series and just like build that community with, other.

Speaker:

, viewers and talk about it together.

Speaker:

I think that would be so much fun.

Speaker:

So I'm going to be creating those communities for you.

Speaker:

And I've been thinking about doing a Facebook, private group too, for, for

Speaker:

people, but let me know what you think.

Speaker:

Let me know if you want me to do that.

Speaker:

All right.

Speaker:

You guys, I hope you guys really enjoyed the first episode about, and just like

Speaker:

that fans' podcast, where we talk about all things that happen on this series.

Speaker:

And if you guys haven't checked out the series, it airs every Thursday on HBO max,

Speaker:

and you can stream the previous episode.

Speaker:

So definitely go check it out.

Speaker:

But I have to say, even though the first episode was kind of a downer.

Speaker:

And then I was just like, why did they have to do it on episode one?

Speaker:

So I have to say like on the entire season it looks like

Speaker:

it's gonna be interesting.

Speaker:

Anthony started a hot fellow's baked goods, business, and they show a

Speaker:

scene of one of the hot guys from hot fellows, baked goods, caring Carey.

Speaker:

And it looks like that was an interesting moment.

Speaker:

And then there's going to be a scene where Chloe is calling

Speaker:

out Carrie about her podcast.

Speaker:

And she's saying your podcast numbers suck.

Speaker:

You haven't posted in weeks.

Speaker:

All right.

Speaker:

I hope you guys enjoyed the first episode of, and just like that fans podcast, and

Speaker:

please share the show with everyone else.

Speaker:

And I will see you guys on episode two.

Speaker:

Thank you for listening to the end, just like that fans' podcast.

Speaker:

Speaker:

Speaker:
