Hurricane Otis made landfall near Acapulco (Guerrero state) at approximately 00.25 (local time) on 25 October as a Category 5 hurricane (highest on a five-tier scale). With several causalities, and extensive damage to property and infrastructure, related incidents continue to be reported, particularly in Acapulco and adjacent municipalities.
