00:00:00 Nazish: most of us have been taught that healing is something that happens to us, that we go somewhere or find someone or take something, then we get better. But what if the entire premise is missing something? What if the most profound healing capacity you will ever encounter is already living inside you? Not as a concept, not as a hope, but as something real. Something you were born with. Something you have just never been shown how to access to. So that's what today's conversation is about.
00:00:42 Nazish: Welcome to Inner Peace, better health. This is a space where we explore what it genuinely means to feel well, not just on the surface, but in the quiet, steady places beneath it. I am your host, and today I'm joined by someone who has spent nearly decades guiding people back to their own innate capacity to heal. Safra Turner is the one of the founder of the Eye Holistic Institute of Holistic Health and Advanced Energetica and her work bridges holistic healing, emotional transformation, and advanced energetics in a way that is both deeply practical and profoundly expansive. So today we are exploring her personal journey and living truth. She has come to know that you have more capacity to heal than you have been told. Safra, I welcome you to this show.
00:01:38 Safra Turner: Thank you so much for having me today. I truly appreciate it.
00:01:42 Nazish: Wonderful. So, dear listeners, some statements reflect personal belief and experiences and are presented as individual views, not medical advice. So listeners should consult a qualified professional for medical conditions.
00:02:00 Nazish: So before we get into the heart of this, I want to ask you something personal. Like nearly thirty years is a long time to walk this path. So was there a moment, maybe early on, where something shifted for you personally? Like you witnessed something or experience that made you think, this is real and this is what I am here to do?
00:02:25 Safra Turner: I think I would say it a little bit differently. Um, it would not have been a specific experience, rather an awakening within myself that that was supported by the experiences that I had in the outside world. Uh, when I was seventeen, I moved, uh, by myself to another country. Learned a new language. Um, I was drafted into the military. Um, and it was an experience where I was taken very much outside of my personal bubble and given an opportunity where there was no external. Pressure to be act or no a certain things and a certain way. What that means is that I was able to open up into my own inner self and to be able to turn within in order to learn about things such as the nature of reality, of energy, of healing in ways that would not have really been feasible if I had stayed within the bubble of my own comfort zone. So it gave me a space to open into an entirely new universe, an entirely new experience that I did not know or recognize was even out there. Um, and it was through those experiences that I opened up into reading books on, on spirit, on science, on the nexus of science and spirit. It was through that open moment in time that I was able to allow my mind to open up to the fact that we can work with elements and connect into the natural world around us in manners that are so profound, to experience true oneness through the external world, as well as through our external selves.
00:04:23 Nazish: Absolutely. That sets a very different perspective and a very refreshing perspective to the show. You know, when people hear the phrase your capacity to heal, I think there's a tendency to receive it as a kind of motivational idea, something encouraging but a little vague. So from where you stand after all these years of work, what do most people fundamentally misunderstand about healing capacity? What healing capacity actually is?
00:04:54 Safra Turner: I think it comes down to one simple point. We do not accept our own personal worthiness. We do not believe that we are worthy of healing, and therefore we believe that we cannot heal. Um, what that also means is that we externalize our belief systems of our healing outwards, and we give that belief out onto a doctor that has studied, for example, um, many years and have, have much knowledge, um, or we give it out to a medicine that this medicine will fix me rather than believing and becoming aware of the power within ourselves that we are worthy of healing. And that is the key that we miss everywhere. And that is what keeps us from truly, uh, expounding upon the healing journey, embarking upon the journey, and becoming partners in our own health.
00:05:50 Nazish: It does help us a lot. It sounds almost like one of the first shift that needs to happen. And is it a technique or a practice? It is just a change in the story we hold about ourselves and what we actually are capable of.
00:06:08 Safra Turner: Very much so. Yes, very, very much so. The the healing capacity is within all of us. We are born, uh, into a state of natural balance. The external factors, you know, such as the, the pollutants, the what we put into our systems, the way that we think in our minds all affect our innate natural ability to heal. However, we are born into a state where our body naturally knows the path into health and is naturally aware of it. The actions that we take along the way, and what comes into our systems through the external world is what shifts that. And when we become aware that the power of our own health and our healing processes begins right here in our own mind. The game changes from one where we are demanding an external source to fix us, and rather, we recognize within ourselves that we are already naturally balanced. It's simply returning to our core.
00:07:16 Nazish: And it brings. It brings so much. It feels so much at home listening to this. You know, in your experience working with people across so many different backgrounds, what are the underlying patterns you tend to see in those who feel most disconnected from their own healing capacity?
00:07:35 Safra Turner: Those that feel most disconnected from their own healing capacity are those that are most disconnected from self. They are the ones that feel disconnected from themselves. When we are not aware of who we are, we are not aware of our own capacity to heal. We there. I overheard a couple of years ago, I was at the gym and I overheard these two elderly individuals talking amongst themselves, and they were both talking about how they had been sick. Both of them had something different. Each one had something different. And they went to their doctors and they took some specific medications and their medications made them sicker. They had very bad side effects to their medications. And as the conversation progressed and I'm just exercising, you know, in my own little world, as the conversation progressed, both of them, um, conversed about how they're going to return to the doctor, you know, to get additional medications. What neither of them comprehended was that because they were looking for an external source only not, We can absolutely use medications and doctors and medicines, of course, but because they were looking only externally, they were not able to gain what it is that they needed to actually heal. The disconnect from self stops us from being able to connect into our power for our innate healing. We have been conditioned to believe that we have to look outside of ourselves in order to, to be able to get healthy, to take the medicines, you know, fix, put a Band-Aid on, on the wound, whatever the wound is. And when we are in that state where we expect or demand something out there to fix us in here, we have lost that connection to our own self. And because of that, we are not truly able to heal. Sometimes you can you can have help in a process, you know. Chemotherapy can certainly help, you know, cancer, for example. However, when you have not connected within yourself, there's a fair chance that there's going to be, um, a restart, for example, of, of that cancer because of the fact that you did not actually heal what was really going on, that underlying cause, rather just a symptom of that cause for all of us, when we are willing to just stop and turn within ourselves and say to ourselves, I am worthy of healing. I love myself enough to heal, I am ready to face my own demons because sometimes we really have to face darker moments and darker aspects of self. That's when that that light can turn on within ourselves to begin the healing process, the true healing process. Until then, we kind of get stuck externalizing it.
00:10:36 Nazish: That is such a powerful point, you know, to find that line, the connection between medical treatment and this inner connection that you're talking about. It is so absolutely important. Yeah. Like, it is so interesting. Like, how can someone start? How can someone actually start building that connection from within? Like that is especially when they are going through that serious something that is as serious as that. And the stories you've said told us, it is so motivating and it brings such a different perspective to this show as well. It is almost like disconnection isn't random. It has been shaped over time, sometimes across generations. And that is so important for us to know.
00:11:24 Safra Turner: Yes, that is essential because the moment that we are aware, that's the moment that you can shift without awareness. We're just going to continue on forward with this. This, like you said, across generations, across time, across space, the moment you become aware, that's when the the spark turns in your conscious mind. That's the moment that you can take your power back within your own healing processes and every other aspect of your life.
00:11:54 Nazish: Uh, I agree. You know, so I'd love to bring this into something like everyday moment for a, for like someone listening right now who might be in the middle of something genuinely difficult physically, emotionally, physically, emotionally, or even spiritually. So what does this disconnection from one's healing capacity actually look like?
00:12:14 Safra Turner: Are you can see it everywhere. Everywhere. Because most of us are very disconnected from our own healing capacities. You can see it in the depression and the anxiety in the illness that is rampant in our world these days. In the conditions you can see it in the insomnia. You can see it in the medications that people are on. And what I mean by that is not that medication cannot help you because for in some instances it can. But here in America, for example, um, we go into many people's personal homes and you will always see here in America this it's. And it's very American. Um, a number of prescription drugs next to a person's bedside or on their countertop in the kitchen or in the bathroom. Almost every house that you go into, the people are dependent on some kind of a medication, whether it is for the insomnia, the depression, the anxiety, the diabetes, the whatever the health condition is. And what this means is that we as a collective and as individuals have become imbalanced to the natural state of our health. And we have fallen into the extreme of lack of health and lack of empowerment. We've become disempowered. And so we look everywhere outside to give us these these aspects, to fix ourselves while we are living lives almost on a, on a, we, we. We lose our connection to our emotional selves in order to continue through life almost like a zombie, almost as if in a dream where we try not to feel the feelings. We try to. To find ways to, um, make the feelings go away. Sometimes it's addiction, alcohol, drugs. Sometimes it's by taking medications, lots and lots of medications, whatever it is, rather than ourselves turning within and finding the core of what is going on within ourselves. So here in the United States, you see it everywhere. And I cannot speak for all places in the world. I can tell you, I've lived in other countries and in other countries. It's not quite like it is here in America. Um, but that said, it does exist. And so to that, we are seeing a state where we have externalized our health and our healing to an external source. And therefore we are dealing with the pressures and the difficulties of, of mental, emotional and physical conditions that we're not necessarily able to see to the other side of the mountain, to the sunrise that is on the other side, because there is sun we can heal. It's just a, it's a, it's a process that we do not quite see yet. Because in our world, in our experience, it's normal not to be healthy. Health has become normal. Lack of health has become normalized.
00:15:17 Nazish: You know, it is like we have normalized it somehow. We've made it so, so normal about, you know, taking medications for everything and even the slightest of the thing, like you mentioned. I guess it is a lot here as well. It's not just a thing, but it is there. I, I couldn't agree more with you in this. It's like we have adapted to a state that actually isn't normal for us.
00:15:45 Safra Turner: Correct. And, and that is how you see that in the outside world, we've become normalized to the abnormality of being unhealthy.
00:15:56 Nazish: Yeah. Because, you know, it suggests that there is another side, even if we can't fully see it yet. And that is something very reassuring about that, that the idea that reconnection doesn't have to begin with a dramatic moment, but it can start with something as quiet as noticing, you know, just that simple awareness.
00:16:19 Safra Turner: Oh, absolutely. May I share a small story from my own experience?
00:16:24 Nazish: Yes. Yes, please.
00:16:26 Safra Turner: So this this was a story from a long time ago when I lived overseas. Um, and, uh, we had wars and, uh, my husband would be called up for, for, uh, reserve duty when these wars started. And, and he literally had to leave the house at thirty minutes in uniform gone. And this was a very normal thing. And I remember one of these wars, um, we, it was the first war that we had a child. Um, so we had a two year old child. Um, and I was, you know, taking care of the child during the time that he was gone. Nobody, he never told us where he was when he returned, uh, about, I don't know, ten days, two weeks later, the war ended and he came home and I my body was not able to calm down from that anxiety of war, from the pressure of being a single mother at home while your husband is off on the front lines from the unknown of am I going to die today? Of these scenarios, my body and my mind physically and mentally and emotionally could not calm down from there. We could not get out of that state, I could not. About three weeks later, my husband said something to me which was life changing. This. This was life changing for me, he said. Software. You need to go. You need to get out of this situation that you're in right now. Go away for a little bit. Find some time to yourself. Let yourself heal. And I, I listened and I left, I left the house for three nights. Uh, the child stayed with my husband. My husband took care of the family. And I went, I went off into, into nature and into spiritual, uh, spaces I went to, it didn't matter the religion, it was a spiritual experience. And I sat in on the first day of one of, of this, this healing experience. And I sat on the shores of a lake. And as I'm sitting and listening to the lapping waves, I decided to go into meditation. And I just started breathing calmly. I just, you know, went in, brought, went in, turned into myself. And I had a meditation that was it was profound. And I'm not going to go into the story of the meditation. But what that moment did, having taken me outside of the bubble of I can't heal, I'm stuck in this. Oh my goodness, you know, it was war happening again. Is it still going on? I can't handle this into a space where I took myself outside of that bubble, gave myself the time that my body and my mind needed to say, Safra, it's going to be alright. You are not in that moment anymore. Now you can begin to come back to life again. And I gave myself permission to come back to life again. And I spent those three days away from my normal life so that I could heal my mind and my body. And it worked wonders. It was life changing and game changing, and it was actually the platform for, um, one of my healing methods for emotional healing accelerated emotional healing, which I work with most all of my emotional clients on. But it was giving the space to love myself enough. And thank goodness for my husband to say go away. To be able to step outside of my own bubble, my own fear, and see it from a different perspective. And that perspective outside of the bubble gave my mind the ability to calm down and to heal. And for all of us to step outside of the bubble, to step away from the everyday. Even if it's one hour to walk in a forest, to put your feet in a river, whatever it is to say, I am worthy of taking a little bit of time to help. To shift that perspective, to calm my nervous system, and to give myself the space that I can turn within to begin the healing process.
00:20:10 Nazish: All right. So, you know, challenge isn't healing. It is even recognizing that a different state exists. And once you have that awareness or like once that awareness shifts, everything can start to change. And it is so like you mentioned, you had your husband with you to help you. So it is so important to have that support. It can actually change a lot for you.
00:20:39 Safra Turner: Oh, absolutely. There's and, and I do want to posit though, that you do not always need an external support because we don't all have husbands like mine who is just amazing. And I love him very much. Um, you know, some of us do not have, you know, uh, that kind of a relationship. Some of us are in situations where the relationships are not very healthy as well. And a big part of the healing process is not about somebody else helping, uh, fixing you, fixing you. Rather, it's about you giving yourself the grace he triggered in me the ability to have that grace for myself that I wasn't able to have in the moment. However, there are times when we're alone and we can stop and say, you know what? This is not working for me. I need a shift, and you can do that within your own mind as well. Sometimes it just takes a meditation. Sometimes it takes get on a boat and sail across the ocean. Sometimes it takes shifting a habit in your life. Sometimes it's a simple statement of, you know what? I have an addiction, whatever that is. Maybe it's maybe it's, you know, watching TV, maybe it's drugs, maybe it's alcohol, maybe it's shopping. I need to change this. Let's take that first step in shifting. It has to start within yourself. But sometimes we're blessed enough to have that support system around as well to help to trigger it.
00:22:07 Nazish: That really stands out. And, you know, the idea of giving yourself grace is so good. It is something that a lot of people should do and need.
00:22:18 Safra Turner: Oh my goodness, we I, I, one of the things that I more often than not hear a client say to me is I've fallen. They were doing so well. They'll say, right, I've fallen. And, and oh my goodness, I'm so overwhelmed or this is too much or I'm so frustrated with myself because I've fallen down. And there is one thing that I will say to them over and over. You can fall a hundred times and feel that fall. Give yourself the space to feel what you're feeling within that moment. But when you're ready, get back up. Not before you're ready. When you're ready. Because if we don't give the healing process, a major part of the healing process is allowing ourselves that grace to feel what we need to feel. You cannot heal if you cannot feel Absolutely.
00:23:15 Nazish: That is such a beautiful way to put it. You cannot heal if you cannot feel. And just like that, that awareness, that simple awareness is so important. And you know, Safra, if there is one thing, one beautiful thing that I can take away from this beautiful, beautiful conversation with you is that like, it would be this, that you never without the you would never you would never without the capacity to heal, you would only ever without the permission to believe in it.
00:23:47 Safra Turner: That's it.
00:23:47 Nazish: Yeah. So Safra, for this has been such a nourishing conversation. So before we wrap, I want to ask you, for our listeners who want to go deeper with your work, learn more about holistic or simply find ways to your voice, what is the best place for them to start?
00:24:06 Safra Turner: Oh, absolutely.
