Serious Faith – Wisdom Unplugged

Wisdom - the final frontier to true knowledge. Welcome to Wisdom-Trek! Where our mission is to create a legacy of wisdom, to seek out discernment and insights, to boldly grow where few have chosen to grow before. Hello, my friend, I am Guthrie Chamberlain, your captain on our journey to increase Wisdom and Create a Living Legacy. Thank you for joining us today as we explore wisdom on our 2nd millennium of podcasts. This is Day 1405 of our Trek, and it is time for our 3-minute mini trek called Wisdom Unplugged. This short nugget of wisdom includes an inspirational quote with a little bit of additional content for today’s trek. Consider this your vitamin supplement of wisdom for today. So let’s jump right in with today’s nugget:

Today’s quote is from  Os Guinness, and it is:    Find out how seriously a believer takes his doubts, and you have the index of how seriously he takes his faith.

Serious Faith

Doubt and faith are opposed to each other. The greater your doubt, the less is your faith. The converse is also true, as your faith grows more substantial and more durable, the doubts and fears in your life will begin to decrease. All of us face a certain amount of fears, worries, and concerns, but to what extent do they influence and control your life? We cannot fool ourselves if we say we have strong faith but live fearfully; then we are deceitful by the very words we speak. Others can see your life and know if your faith is real and is controlling your life. So let’s take our faith seriously and practice it through minimizing the doubts and fears in our lives. Let us live a life of bold confidence in the One who has created us and is the champion of our faith.  Hebrews 12:1-3 Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a huge crowd of witnesses to the life of faith, let us strip off every weight that slows us down, especially the sin that so easily trips us up. And let us run with endurance the race God has set before us. We do this by keeping our eyes on Jesus, the champion who initiates and perfects our faith. Because of the joy awaiting him, he endured the cross, disregarding its shame. Now he is seated in the place of honor beside God’s throne. Think of all the hostility he endured from sinful people; then you won’t become weary and give up.That’s a wrap for today’s Wisdom Unplugged quote.
